New Ending Spoilers Below. Don't click if you don't want to know.
LAST WARNING!!!
Basically, you get the cure but it has serious consequences. You fall into a coma for two years and when you wake up things are different.
Judy: If you romanced Judy, you find out that she got married to someone else while you were gone. Your relationship is pretty much done.
Panam: If you romanced Panam, she was devastated by your disappearance and won't even talk to you. Mitch tells you to stop trying to contact her. So...also done and over with.
River: Kinda confusing but he seems to be a criminal now.
Kerry: Wants nothing at all to do with you.
You also can't use any cybernetic implants anymore and you're a completely normal person. By choosing to cure yourself you basically lose everything.
I see this as much much worse than the Star ending. The Star ending gives you hope for the future but with a possible time limit surrounded by people who care about you. You might die or you might find a fix for your condition. It's left open. You still have Judy and/or Panam.
But in the Cure ending you live but you're alone. Also, in the world of Cyberpunk how long would a "normal" person live anyway? It's a slim chance at a long life at the expense of truly living.
The Cure ending makes you experience what could happen after your possible death in the Star ending: People moving on with their lives and possibly finding new love without you.
In the Star ending, V lives their life for however much time they have left, and if they happen to die in that ending, they don't have to see what follows. In the Cure ending, their coma is their "death" but they'll still be around to watch people move on from them.
In my opinion, the Cure ending isn't worth it. V ends up sacrificing way too much, choosing a "maybe" of a long life over a life well-lived.
