Week 6
This week we had show backs which really helped the band with communication when it came to rehearsals.
i realised i needed to concentrate more when it came to our group rehearsals, i need to put the same effort in to band rehearsals as well as my individual rehearsals.
i did this by focusing a lot more on the band and being more opinionated when it came to what i thought was best for all of us even with there opinions which was all taken into consideration and helped with communication with everyone.
from this point everyone was working on stage presence and audience interaction which i also took upon myself to do also
i did this by standing up while playing and also visually looking and interacting with the audience which benefited me confidence wise as in my opinion it helped me play to a better advantage.

Week 5
This week was able to create our set list
the set list was important to my individual rehearsals as it helped me understand which songs i needed to work on more and show more attention to when it came to playing in the rehearsals.
i was able to keep up a lot more with the rest of the band even though i did think we needed to work on our communication apt more as well as stage presence.
by this rehearsal we was given our lat song which is uptown funk by bruno mars
for thus song i only play bass notes on the piano which is the note D even though it is just one note i am able to play around with the rhythm of how its played which helps me improve my skills and knowledge when it comes to playing piano.
Even though it a comedic type of song i try to play it to the best of my ability as i don't want to not only want to let myself down but the rest of the band aswell.
this attitude i portray within these rehearsals allow my to play the rest of the songs fluenty.

Week 4
this week was probably the hardest when it came to rehearsals for me.
because at this point we had three songs i was finding it extremely difficult to remember all the chords as well as playing with the rest of the band as i had missed a few rehearsals and felt like i was falling behind.
even though i tried to catch up it just seemed like it wasn't working so i decided what i was going to do was put in theatre work at home which i did but also watch the rest of the band which really worked well in my favour as i concentrated more and was able to keep calm instead of giving up and reacting.
this put me in a better mind set for our next song which was in the morning.
this is probably one of my favourite songs to play in the band as i play the melody on piano instead of just the chords.
this adds a lot more to the piece of music as a ensemble and fills out the space thats left which i am able to musically contribute to the band in my opinion which is something i try and do with every song as we try and run through our set at least 3 times each rehearsal.

Week 3
This week we come together as a band to discuss were we was at this week within the meeting.
we had been posting on social media however in my opinion i believe we could step it up when it comes to the platforms as it will benefit us in the end.
i decided to focus on our smart targets as i been practising outside of rehearsals at home i was 100% sure was ready for our next song.
by the time we got our next song we decided to do ruby by kaiser chiefs for this i found it extremely challenging as i couldn't keep in time with everyone else when it came to playing all together.
however i realised if i sustained the notes i was able to focus of changing from chord to chord and slowly but surely be able to add rhythm to it.
this concentration also came in handy with the other songs as i was able to play through them at this point fluently because i had been putting extra work in at home which allowed me to focus on ruby

Week 2
This week we had our first meeting as a band.
this is were we as a band discussed what roles we were assigned for the behind the scenes of plan and preparation for the gig.
for example my role is media marketing for the band itself which means i basically promote the gig and the band keeping people updated for when the gig and get as much recognition as possible.
for this role we made a instagram account for our band which we name springfield and also a snapchat group.
by having the snapchat group it allows the band to be in touch at all times and have discussions and voice our opinions outside the rehearsal rooms, but by having the instagram account this allowed me to promote the band by posting instagram stories and posts to keep the audience interacted with the band and gain a bigger following for people to attend the gig.
we was also given our second song which is don't upset the rhythm by the noisettes.
for this song i am on keys again which adds a lovely tone to the full ensemble. i follow the bass with my left hand playing the root notes and play the chords with my right, but what really adds emphasis is how i play the root not with my left hand on a octave for the bridge in the song as every other instrument drops out it fills the space left within the piece of music.
by the time we had the outline of our song  we ran through both songs trying to keep it fluent so we can improve by next week to get our third song.

Week 1
This week we was put into our bands for our end of year gig.
We was given multiple choice of songs to choose from and in the end we all came to the conclusion that the first song we was going to work on was Crazy by Gnarls Barkley.
Before we could focus on rehearsals we had to assign roles what people were happy with as band so we knew what we needed to focus on for the next couple of weeks which in my opinion was essential for me as i knew what my vocal point was to focus on within the band.
As i enjoy being on keys i decided that i wanted to be the pianist for this particular song, i started to play the basic chords on my right hand as well as following the bass by playing the root notes with my left hand.
In the beginning this was challenging as i wasn’t too sure about the changes between the chords.
However towards the end of the week i was able to keep a nice rhthym throughout the piece that complimenent the accompaniment, after a lot of hard work by practising at home and within my own time as i knew it was going to benefit not only me but the progression with the rest of the band.
