i know we all love the fics and headcanons where bucky is gentle with steve and takes special care not to be too rough or hurt him
but come on
Tumblr media
bucky doesn’t hold back from pulling him into his side or into a hug that leaves steve surprised at its intensity
Tumblr media
bucky is the only person in the world who saw how strong steve was before the serum and the only one who didn’t treat him like he was frail and weak

Alien: You’re telling me that in times of great distress humans have been known to suddenly gain the strength necessary to lift objects more than a dozen times their own weight?!
Human: Yeah, it’s called “hysterical strength” and it usually happens in life-or-death situations, like when someone gets stuck under a car or something and someone lifts the car to get them out. We can’t really test it though, ‘cause it only happens spontaneously.
Alien: Humans have the ability to tap into untold strength and power and you don’t even know how you do it?
Human: Pretty much, yeah. We think it has something to do with temporary analgesia, so we just don’t feel the pain we should when we pick up a 3000-pound car.
Alien: YOUR PAIN RESPONSE JUST SHUTS OFF?
Human: Yeah, it’s like an adrenaline thing? Do you not have that?
Alien: Fuck you and your entire species of tiny juggernauts.

In 1989, George Bush gave a speech about crack. During the speech he pulled out a bag of crack and said “this bag was seized right across the street from the White House in Lafayette park.” Turns out, his speech writers had the idea to pull out a prop during his speech and in order to make it believable they had the DEA plant crack on this random 18 year old black kid. They lured him there. He didn’t even know where the White House or Lafayette park was. When he got there, they arrested them. The plot was discovered by a journalist.

Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy the mcu spiderman movies and I think tom holland is one of the best peter parker’s we’ve ever had. That being said, the mcu spiderman movies are by no means actually spiderman movies. And it’s not like any of the other less popular mcu characters where this is the first adaptation and people might not know too much about the comics, this is spiderman, perhaps the single most iconic and popular superhero in all of marvel comics. There’s so much lore and history to this character, and we’ve had so many adaptations that have set the foundation of what we expect from spiderman media. And there are certain iconic elements of peter parker’s story that you just cannot erase. His relationship with ben and may, how he was shaped by the loss of his parents then his uncle, his financial struggles, the fact that he’s very much a friendly neighbourhood spiderman. And not in the condescending way the mcu does it, but more so in the fact that he fights for people who no one else would care for. He’s not meant to be out there leading the avengers in intergalactic wars especially not as a sixteen year old. The mcu movies have stripped peter of his identity as spiderman and made him ir*n man jr. We don’t see his relationship with uncle ben or even aunt may because he now has t*ny. Every villain he faces is a direct product of t*ny and only fights peter because of his association with him. There are no iconic spiderman villains, no iconic spiderman characters, there’s nothing but regurgitated ir*n man storylines to fit him into a narrative that was never his. And I wish stans acknowledged why we are so angry about it, it’s not just blind hatred for t*ny of the ir*n man cinematic universe, it’s valid criticism for a story that shares nothing with the legacy of spiderman other than a name.

if you choose to believe that in hobbit culture fat = sexy then when Gollum called Sam a ‘stupid fat hobbit’ from Sam’s perspective he was basically being called a himbo.
