Mahmoud Abu Salama is doing an amazing thing in North Gaza! He is starting a project to help Deaf Palestinian women use their pastry making skills while also distributing food to families in need. This is helping both the women make a bit of a living and feed the hungry in the North.

Spoilers! for the fourth Locked Tomb book I read in a dream

I woke up before I could finish it. I think I entered Tamsyn’s brain last night. The book featured Blood of Eden + 6th House officials putting together skilled teams in an elaborate plan to kill Jod. One team was Paul, Gideon (fully alive!), and Harrow, but they were the dumb dumb underdog team that kept tripping everyone up. It was implied that Harrow’s one act of solemn necromancy in this book was bringing Gideon back to life early on, but it was never shown. It was also revealed subtly that part of Nona’s love for life still lived in Harrow and she was trying her best to embrace that silly side of herself so she and Gideon didn’t have to suffer anymore. Unfortunately losing her cutthroat dedication right before the most important assassination attempt in human history was a bit ill timed. The ENTIRE book was just Gideon Harrow and Paul being idiots and goofing off while super professional teams (one of which included Hot Sauce as a star student) actually planned out the assassination. One iconic scene involved Gideon jokingly holding Harrow up by one arm on her hip like she was carrying a child. This was Gideon’s idea but Harrow liked it. The two of them fell, knocking over Paul, and all three ended up with identical bruises on their faces. Paul had big chill stoner vibes. It was also implied that Paul had their own plan to kill Jod (because of course Blood of Eden is doomed to fail) but they never revealed it. The entire story was told through the perspective of an unnamed rando recruit on one of the competent teams. The funny thing is, they had no idea Harrow was a necromancer and was confused the entire book why BoE recruited such a clumsy chihuahua of a person for their cause.

Ooh ooh I love talking about this franchise!! The book has bad science but it does make it clear that a theme park of dinosaurs IS very safe and cool when you do the logical thing and only breed herbivores. The problem was the cut corners and the greed and the assumption that throwing money on top of something makes you invincible to mmm apex predators. Actually such a fantastic concept. The fact that it became a mega corp money maker in the movie industry is just chefs kiss irony.

jurassic park has a good philosophical message but unfortunately the only thing i ever take away from watching jurassic park is "god i wish i could go to jurassic park." like yeah it's a blatantly obvious don't create the torment nexus scenario, but this torment nexus has DINOSAURS.

This reminds me, I came home very late yesterday from a night shift. It was pitch dark and I was having trouble getting into the house because I couldn’t find my house key. I knocked but my mom wasn’t up so I fumbled a bit until I finally got into the house.

I step in and see my tiny dog perilously coming down the stairs by herself in the PITCH dark. She started crying and whining when she saw me. She hates the stairs even when she can see where she’s going. My little baby heard me knocking and came to rescue me on a dangerous mission all by herself. I don’t deserve her.

Relationships that have real king/lionheart energy, that whole “I have sworn myself wholly to you, I am your sword arm, I am your dog” to someone else’s “you are the one person in this world I can rely on, and I am both bolstered and burdened by your absolute faith in me” vibe, but it’s in circumstances that are like. so low stakes. Manager of a movie theater/the one usher who doesn’t smoke weed at work.
