There's a really funny thing I see where USians will be outraged when the PRC says "What goes on in Xinjiang/Hong Kong/Taiwan is an internal affair that isn't for Westerners to comment on" and they'll say that it's a completely ridiculous thing to say, but when they imagine the world and decide which camps are "the good guys" and which are "the bad guys", the US' treatment if black and indigenous people never weigh into the assessment. You see people say that the PRC is more evil than the US but when pushed to demonstrate with evidence that what's going on in Xinjiang is anywhere near as bad as how the US currently treats black people they're empty-handed. They bleat about the Tyranny of the Soviet Union but when you ask if they'd rather live in the Soviet Union or be black in the Jim Crow south they act as if it isn't a fair thing to bring up? Why? Do you believe black and indigenous people are people are not? And if not, how could you possibly think any countries except perhaps Nazi Germany and the Zionist Enemy are any more morally bankrupt?
obviously it is cynically deployed as a cudgel against trans women and so is primarily a transmisogynistic sentiment but it is in fact also on its face hugely transphobic in general when people say shit like "trans men don't have male privilege because nobody sees them as men", like. do you not see how that is just straightforwardly transphobic towards the trans men you are talking about lol
I really deeply hate how the correct statement "using man-hating as a cover for transmisogyny is awful and you need to be able to recognize when that's being used as a dogwhistle" has somehow evolved into "misandry is real and that's why terfs are wrong" like no I don't think it is. Can we please retire Not All Men I can't do this
person who has only watched one anime: what i really love about dungeon meshi is how it subverts our expectations of a typical anime by not sexualising women and having a good plot!
Don't know why this needs to be rehashed but "authoritarianism" does not exist as a meaningful political category or avenue of critique and saying "it's not actually anticommunist it's just anti-authoritarian" is literally the basis of "leftist" anticommunist mythmaking for like 100 years lol
US liberals be like: "we need to protect the disabled and poc by making sure they remain an underclass forever. Advocating for a revolution means you want to kill minorities and the vulnerable."
