Subsonic Eye Tour 21
Overall the tour went very smoothly. Nothing was lost, all of the gear made it to every airport and we were all safe. We had one racist encounter where someone shouted at us. I found that really ironic because the person who shouted at us was also a person of colour. Other than that, the tour was a huge success!
I really took the comfort, convenience and safety in Singapore for granted. From the gig venues providing MI and backline to just leaving things even laptops in the car and not worrying about it and even walking home late at night as a woman, I feel really blessed to call Singapore home.
I still want to tour the world and experience the different music ecosystems that each country has to offer and I hope I will be able to do that in the near future!

Subsonic Eye USA Tour 20
Dallas, the last show!
From D.C., we took a flight to Dallas, Texas! We have taken so many flights in a short time that when we landed in Dallas, I completely forgot where we came from and was staring at the baggage claim directory for quite some time. After sorting that out, we checked into our accommodation and knocked out. The next day was show day so we loaded up the car and headed to the venue. One thing I noticed in the US was that it was very hard to find parking. They had a lot of street/ curbside parking and very few parking garages. One thing I took for granted in Singapore was definitely the convenience and ease of finding a parking lot. Maybe the US should build more multi-story parking facilities to alleviate the problem.
The Dallas show went well! The crowd really loved them and they had a good time! The tour is officially over! A month just flew by so quickly!

After Philadelphia, we drove a couple hours to Washington, D.C. The venue was so cool! It was a gig space and a pie shop. (the venue is literally called Pie Shop) They had such amazing pies! It was my first time eating an actual pie and I loved every bite of it. The show in D.C. was so fun! The crowd had amazing energy and everyone who came to the merch booth was really friendly and nice. Met a couple of Singaporeans at the show and it was somewhat heartwarming to hear the Singaporean accent after not hearing it for a couple weeks. The tour is coming to an end!

Subsonic Eye USA Tour 18
From New York, I drove us down to Philadelphia! By this point of the tour, all of us were officially sick. This was my second time getting sick on the tour. I got sick at the very start of the tour but recovered quickly. We all tested negative for covid. We came to the conclusion that it was due to the excessive travelling, not enough rest, meeting many people and poor diet that caused our immune system to fail.
We went to the pharmacy to stock up on all the necessary medinice and tried to get as much rest before the show the next day.
On show day, we did the same load in routine and the show went smoothly!
Fun fact: The venue we were at in Philadelphia was the same venue in the movie Creed!

New York Babyyyyy!
We took a flight from Detroit to New York. Right after we landed, we dropped our personal things off at the Airbnb which was right by the airport and headed to Brooklyn for the soundcheck. The venue was Baby's All Right. It was a really pretty venue with very nice light design. It might be my favourite stage visually.
I helped the band soundcheck and proceeded to set up the merch booth. Unfortunately, the merch booth was located outside of the performing area so I did not get to watch them play. However, I managed to sneak in and capture a few shots on my film camera.

Subsonic Eye USA Tour 16
After Chicago, I drove us down to Detroit where the next show was happening. It was a "short" and easy drive. We got to the venue, helped the opening band set up and did soundcheck. By this point in the tour, we have gotten into the groove of things. Loading and unloading the car was a game of Tetris and we had gotten really good at it. For the amount of things we had, I was always surprised we could fit it in the car.
Also, I started writing the setlist for the band because they kept losing theirs to the crowd after the show. This then became part of my routine of a show day which consisted of:
driving to the venue
load in the venue for soundcheck
help the band soundcheck
set up the merch table
write the setlist for the show
do merch and take photos and videos of the show

After the Audiotree session, we went to the venue for soundcheck! After helping the band set up and soundcheck, I went ahead and set up the merch booth. I had my own little corner with a wire rack to display the shirts. At this point of the tour, I had gotten pretty good at setting up the merch booth at record time.
Side note: If you want to sell a particular item, always place it in front and slightly too the left. I have no idea where this logic came from but it worked the entire tour.
