genuinely one of the saddest parts of this new era of the internet is how hard it is to rick roll someone now. with people's attention spans shortening so much, they wouldn't even get through the first few bait seconds before clicking off the video. like i saw a comment that ended with "btw i made all of this up" and the replies kept treating it so seriously because none of them finished the entire 4 sentence comment. and We're no strangers to love You know the rules and so do I (do I) A full commitment's what I'm thinking of You wouldn't get this from any other guy I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling Gotta make you understand Never gonna give you up Never gonna let you down Never gonna run around and desert you Never gonna make you cry Never gonna say goodbye Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 馃憤馃従 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.

Basically, it boils down to this:
The preponderance of evidence is that most trending calling posts on Tumblr alleging sexual misconduct by trans women are fabricated by the same relatively small group of bad-faith actors, and that these bullshit callout posts outnumber the legit ones by a considerable margin.
If you think you can tell the legit callout posts and the bullshit ones apart just by looking at them, you're almost certainly wrong.
Like most mechanisms of social control which are based on ostracism, callout posts tend to be most effective against people who are already in a position of vulnerability, and concomitantly, tend to have no significant long-term effect when deployed against people in positions of power or authority.
What all this adds up to is that even leaving the moral dimension of the act aside, from a purely pragmatic perspective, reblogging that callout post accusing a random trans woman you've never heard of of being a dogfucker or what-have-you is an action which, in a worst-case scenario, will contribute to ruining an innocent person's life, and in a best-case scenario, is likely to accomplish nothing whatsoever.
Folks often justify reblogging callout posts without performing due diligence under the rubric of "better safe than sorry", but any realistic assessment of the likely outcomes will tell you that the true "better safe than sorry" course of action is to keep your damn mouth shut!

a trans woman gets wrongfully deleted, falsely accused of making threats and is harassed by automattic's ceo, after years of trans women talking about how they are constantly having to deal with things like this, and days later, someone pedojackets another trans woman because they failed to read her website rules in their entirety, and less that a month after that, someone pedojackets yet another trans woman because of a months-old comment replying to a stranger, which she has already addressed repeatedly. not a fucking thing has been learned.
respect trans women. support trans women. actually treat them like human beings deserving of compassion and reflect on how public accusations of wrongdoings do not accomplish anything good, and are especially harmful to trans women, whether they're true or not (and most of the time, they're not true). and yes, love trans women too, but that goal cannot be reached without everything else.

israelis love being like "how dare you accuse us of this crime? this is so unthinkable. we would never do that. we investigated, have fabricated fake evidence, and have found this claim baseless."
only to immediately commit the exact same crime they were accused of again, but this time with zero pretense
works cited:
israel killing journalists: - how dare you accuse us of killing a journalist? (shireen abu akleh) - we investigated and found this claim baseless - israel killing over 95 palestinian journalists in gaza
israel bombing hospitals: - how dare you accuse us of bombing a hospital? (al-ahli hospital bombing) - we investigated and found this claim baseless - israel bombing multiple hospitals in gaza and then shelling and invading the rest
israel killing starving palestinians trying to get food: - how dare you accuse us of shooting palestinians trying to get food? (flour massacre) - we investigated and found this claim baseless - israel killing palestinians trying to get food again two days later
worth noting also in every single case not only is the original accusation always proven true, albeit to much less fanfare from western media that originally amplified the israeli denial, but it's occasionally proven indisputably true after they've already done it again. just really impressive levels of "what were you gonna do about it, anyway?"

So Missouri is introducing a bill that would make it so teachers would be charged as sex offenders and put on the registry for "contributing to social transition" of trans youth. This is so completely fucked up. A teacher can be charged with a class E felony for using they/them pronouns. They鈥檙e making aiding trans people punishable by law. They鈥檙e making it illegal to help trans people. They want to make it impossible to support us. They want to cut us off from all resources in society. They want to starve us out.
You can read the whole bill here: https://documents.house.mo.gov/billtracking/bills241/hlrbillspdf/5874H.01I.pdf

Be Nimona:
>Originally made as a subversion of the usual fantasy stories and superheroes in comics with a bloodthirsty MC, an implied Homosexual relationship between a Villain and a Hero, and a relatively dark story and ending
>Get Picked up and get animated by Blue Sky Studio(Ice Age, Rio, Spies in Disguise etc etc)
>Gets finished 90% of the way
>Disney buys Blue Sky, dismantles it and throws said 90% of progress to the void archives that is Disney's unfinished projects
>Gets picked up by Netflix
>Netflix allows the story to not only stay consistent with the comic but doubles down on the "controversial" parts of it(Homosexuality is now prevalent, lots of murder-y things and gore)
> Is released as a KIDS MOVIE
>Gets released in the same time frame as Disney's 100 Year celebration
>Gets nominated for an Oscar
>BEATS disney's own movie for the time frame
>Gets released FOR FREE in youtube for everyone to see what Disney ditched

I don't know how to break it to you all but a bad parent will parent badly with books and a good parent will parent well with an iPad.
Ipads don't make the "ipad kid". What upsets you is a child who is being given something distracting and potentially obnoxious to those around them so that the parent doesn't have to deal with engaging with their child. And it's not new.
I grew up before the invention of the ipad and the complaints were the same. It was "tv kids" and "Gameboy kids". And it was book kids too, though people rarely complained about those kids because it didn't make noise and bother them personally so they no longer cared. Because the "it's for the good of the child!" argument dried up real fast as soon as it was something that didn't affect them.
A good parent who is engaging with their child's interests can do so with an iPad or television. A bad parent can say "take this and leave me alone" with a book or a toy. The problem is that some kids were raised by objects. By whatever kept them busy and entertained and away from their parents. Sure, there are parents who need to realize that's what they're doing and would benefit from changing their parenting style by limiting electronics use, but "if you give your kid an electronic toy, it means you're a bad parent" is not the same thing and largely misses the actual source of the problem.
Your arbitrary standards of what "good children" doing "good child activities" is as restricting.
