FF7-Crossover Verse :

the ancient kingdom of hyrule was once ruled by the cetra hylia. under her guidance, she advocated harmony between the cetra and the growing human race. hyrule became a temporary hub of peace, until jenova ( who took on the guise of the shadowblood queen ) declared war against hyrule. during this period of warfare, both sides suffered a tremendous lost. desperate for intervention, hylia prayed to the lifestream and was gifted extraordinary powers. outside of hyrule, hylia became known as the emerald witch who rallied against the shadowblood queen. for a moment, hylia had subdued jenova's influence and brought about an era of peace. however, after suffering a tremendous lost of her people, hylia had used the powers bestowed upon her and create a barrier between hyrule and the rest of the world. traces of hyrule had vanished through the passage of time, until it was nothing more than a myth.

upon hylia's passing, she had left her descendants knowledge of the ancient artifacts she once had wielded. for thousands upon thousands of years, hyrule had engaged in multiple wars / rebellion for those who had been seduced by these artifacts known by the triforce. hyrule had fallen, rose, and thrived in this seemingly never-ending cycle. the rest of the world remains unaffected by hyrule's existence, and in turn hyrule was left behind technologically. the royal family is aware of what lies beyond hylia's barrier, but the people remains ignorant.

prior to the events of ff7 began to unfold, zelda's father has done the unthinkable. using the forbidden power, he broke through hylia's barrier and began to establish a relationship between hyrule and the rest of the world. although hyrule seemed to be at a disadvantage in numbers and in advancement, their untouched mastery over magic brings them closer to the abilities of the fallen race. princess zelda is ordered to initiate contact between the kingdom of hyrule and the other nation. however, before an official establishment was made, a rebellion would break within the kingdom of hyrule, and caused the royal family to flee. the king is executed during this time, and an usurper takes his place.

zelda manages to steal the triforce before she is declared missing.

assuming a new identity, she attempts to continue her mission and seek out new military aid /alliances. whether she finds herself in midgar, wutai, or junon, her priority will always be her people and the desire to win her nation back from the usurpers.

thinking about how this zelda has a higher tolerance and understanding towards the importance of balance. despite her being the current incarnation of light, she knows that too much is just as catastrophic as too much darkness. she does not perceived things through black or white lenses, nor does she judge others based on actions. more than anything: she seeks understanding. she wants to know to know the reasoning behind others choices, wants to dissect the unknown, and offer a true sense of stability. she is fascinated with what is considered forbidden knowledge, and frankly is known to be much more tolerant with the unknown in comparison to other incarnation.

01. oot zelda is tp zelda's great grandmother. oot zelda ascended as queen and likely maintained a long reign of 60 years before passing. zelda's grandfather was already an elderly by the time he ascended the throne, and it wasn't long until zelda's father became king. zelda was likely born by the time her father was 30.

02. despite being a newly ascended king, both zelda's father and mother was quickly overshadowed by the young princess's birth. under hyrulean law, she was dubbed the next zelda and was immediately groomed to follow her great-grandmother's footsteps. unfortunately, this caused her parents to carry some sort of envy for the young princess. zelda was raised primarily by her tutors, with minimal interaction with her father. zelda had no significant relationship with her mother. unlike her father and grandfather, who had waited decades before they was crowned, the popular consensus was that zelda would take the throne by age 20 regardless of her father's capabilities.

03. zelda is groomed to be a political beacon. she is a paragon who embodies justices and carries the expectation that she will reach her great-grandmother's historical achievements. she shoulders a huge burden at such a young age, and due to this, her tutors attempted to shape her views entirely by denying subjects they thought was unworthy of her to learn. naturally, this challenged zelda and as a result she often sought out and craved the forbidden.

04. despite being beloved by the masses, zelda was raised to be distant from her subjects. she rarely made a public appearance during her father's rule, and was known to keep to herself. she did not have any friends growing up, and if she did it was immediately filtered out by the royal court. zelda finally made an appearance for the first time in public when her father announced he was finally stepping down. zelda never made any amends with her father, due to zant's invasion. the king died and she was left to fend for a kingdom consumed by twilight.

05. in the aftermath of everything, zelda finally takes her place as queen regent. she is still surrounded by countless of advisors who desperately wishes to shape their fallen nation. zelda is willing to listen to their consultation in an effort to restore order and stability in her kingdom. for zelda, no one is above the law, not even herself. securing the family bloodline is vital, and for the most part : this zelda does not end up with the hero. just like her great-grandmother, she will always choose hyrule above all else. my default age for zelda is 24, and by then she has already been ruling as queen for years.

zelda's loyalty lies within her people. she will never put anyone above her responsibility and her obligation. nayru's wisdom gifts her the ability to make sound judgement and uphold order. she is the beacon of hyrule, the paragon and benevolent successor to the previous zelda. from the moment of her birth, she immediately overshadowed the king and his wife. she received the highest expectation the moment she was dubbed zelda. she was groomed, she was trained, she was crafted to be a beloved albeit distant matriarch. zant's invasion and her willingness to sacrifice herself, pretty much solidify's her first major failure in life. she fixated, she mourned, and while she appeared put together ---- the reality was that during her time at the tower, she was a the edge of her deepest despair.
