Bueno The Bear!

One of Pendleton Wards first animated works was "Bueno The Bear". This was a short lived cartoon because Pendleton didn't think it was very good. Although he disliked his own cartoon, he has never changed his name for social media websites. "Buenothebear" is still his screen name for many online media outlets, such as twitter. I just recently found a website that he created that is Bueno The Bear, and find it extremely amusing and neat!

Adventure Time Comic Book

Today Adventure Time released their comic book "Candy Capers Issue 2" today! This features 2 minor characters in the cartoon, Cinnimon Bun & Peppermint Butler, who are trying to find the main characters, Finn & Jake, who have been mysteriously kidnapped. It's incredible that a cartoon can have an effect on so many industries. Adventure Time sells toys and dolls, and now are breaking into the comic book industry. Pendleton Ward's ideas, characters, and plots have really made Adventure Time all that it is today.

Flapjack!

Although, Pendleton Ward is known mainly for "Bravest Warriors", and "Adventure Time", he began his work with Cartoon Network as a writer for "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack". This is a cartoon about a young boy who is raised by a whale, and befriends a pirate. With this pirate the young boy gets into many adventures in search of candy. The show was very popular in 2008 and 2009. Most of the credit for this cartoon goes to the main creator, Thurop Van Orman, but this is where he built experience and was able to stand out to work Adventure time on his own.

Cartoon Hangover

Frederator Studios hosts a YouTube channel known as Cartoon Hangover. In February 2012, Pendleton Ward's short series "Bravest Warriors" helped launch and popularize the channel. I suggest everyone take a look at the channel! They host multiple short cartoons that everyone should at least try and watch. Here is the link!

Frederator Studios

Pendleton Ward joined Frederator Studios in 2009. Frederator Studios is a cartoon producing company for artists to write and draw their own short series. Pendleton's "Adventure Time" was first aired on Nickelodeon as a short on the show "Oh Yeah! Cartoons". It was seen by Cartoon Network executives who later signed Pendleton in his first season of "Adventure Time".

Adventure Time!

Adventure Time is Pendleton Ward's most notable work. Adventure Time is a popular cartoon that airs on Cartoon Network. It is about a human boy, Finn, and his dog/step brother Jake. Jake has a magical power to morph his body large or small into anything he wants. Together, well it's pretty obvious, they go on adventures! The show has won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards, and has been through five whole seasons!

Bravest Warriors Lost Episode

Pendleton Ward made this "Bravest Warriors" episode after his incredible popularity rose after season 1. He made this episode as a sort of "get ready for Season 2" deal and I think it is a perfect cap to what "Bravest Warriors" cartoon is! Check it out here!

Bravest Warriors!

Pendleton Ward is the creator of a hit cartoon short series on YouTube. Bravest Warriors is the title and it is about 4 friends. Some of the episodes bounce around so its hard to really find a main plot, but the four friends fight evil and have plenty to learn about their parents past as well as their own future. This cartoon is funny, exciting, and original. The first season has 11 episodes ranging from 10-13 minutes a piece. Each episode has over 1 million views and by popular demand Pendleton Ward is making a season 2 which will be coming out this fall. If your a fan of cartoons I would check it out!

Blog Assignment: 1st Post, Pendleton Ward

I have decided to do my tumblr assignment for CAS 111 on Pendleton Ward. Pendleton Ward makes and writes popular cartoon series. His most notable work is the cartoon "Adventure Time". He also has short mini series on Youtube under the name "CartoonHangover". I chose Pendleton Ward because this is the type of creative outlet and style of media that I would like to get into and be a part of. So I am excited to follow him and see how and what, he produces over the coming weeks.
