the confession letters

characters: karasuno’s first years! (hinata, kageyama, yamaguchi, tsukishima & yachi)

a/n: wait this kind of format is so fun, i should write more like this haha

— hinata shoyo

hinata had no idea how to react when he saw a letter fall from his bag. he stared at it in wonder as he slowly picked it up. hinata noticed how it was unaddressed, his first thought was that it wasn’t for him, but he was so curious to know what was inside that he just had to open it. he saw a paper with a couple sentences on it. you made sure the letter would be short, yet sweet. his name was written at the top and, after his eyes caught the words i like you in the paragraph, his eyes wandered to the bottom of the page. hinata swore he was about to explode when he saw your name written at the bottom. he reread those three words over and over unable to process that you actually felt the same, before hurrying to read the rest of the letter. your simple yet beautiful sentences left him with tears in his eyes. he quickly wiped them away as he went running around the school to find you.

hinata spotted the letter sitting on kageyama’s desk before kageyama himself did. when hinata walked up to you and kageyama waving the letter, you immediately excused yourself. the two boys asked where you were going and you speedily told them you were heading home, wanting to get yourself out of that scenario as quickly as possible. brushing off what happened, hinata hands kageyama the envelope, saying it was on his desk. he opens it kind of confused, but he sees the paragraphs you wrote to him. kageyama reads the first part out loud to hinata, but as he realizes what it’s about he quickly stops and begins to blush profusely. he felt the same about you, he has since he saw you in class for the first time. eventually, a very anxious hinata figures out what the letter’s about and the two of them run off to stop you from leaving. they get to the school gates, when they spot you walking away from them. the duo starts to call after you and once you hear them screaming your name, you begin running away to avoid a potentially humiliating situation. kageyama quickly runs after you, but you continue to run. it isn’t until you hear kageyama scream i like you too!! that you stop.

when yamaguchi saw the letter you left him, he immediately thought it was for tsukishima. he ran up to his best friend and handed him the letter, claiming that it probably ended up in his locker by mistake and that it was for tsukishima to read. neither of the two boys had an idea who it would be from as the envelope it was in was blank and unaddressed. as tsukishima opened the letter he gave it back to yamaguchi, saying it was for him and that his name was at the top. in shock, yamaguchi took the letter and proceeded to read it. the letter was long, you had written paragraphs on paragraphs confessing your feelings for him. tears welled up in his eyes at your sweet words. when yamaguchi saw your name at the bottom, he immediately went running back to your classroom, praying you were still there, eager to tell you that he felt the same.

it was a normal occurrence for tsukishima to get letters, especially from admiring girls. most of the time he just turned them down or threw out the letter when the sender wasn’t looking. this time was no different. but as tsukishima was about to throw your letter out, yamaguchi bolted towards him, telling him to open the letter since he knew it was from you (he didn’t mention it though). despite being very confused, tsukishima complied with his best friend’s wishes and opened the letter. he recognized the handwriting immediately and realized it was from you. he continued reading your confession, in awe that you actually returned his deeply suppressed feelings. yamaguchi stood next to him, waiting for some kind of reaction, but other than a faint blush, tsukshima looked normal. when he finished the letter, he walked out of the room calmly, eager to find you as his heart continues to pound out of his chest. but before he could get far, yamaguchi yells out how you’re eating your lunch on the roof. tsukishima freezes for a moment before continuing his path to the roof, a small grin on his face.

yachi slightly panicked when she saw the unopened letter fall out of her bag. she had no recollection of putting it in her bag, or of anyone sneaking it in. but you were able to put it there when hinata and kageyama were “getting her to explain a math problem.” praying that she wasn’t in trouble, she hesitantly opened the letter. it was short but sweet and to the point, as you didn’t want to sugarcoat your feelings for her. yachi reread the paragraph several times over, in shock that someone would even have feelings for her. but when she saw your name at the bottom, she almost screamed in happiness. yachi ran to yamaguchi, who was luckily nearby, asking where you were. he said you had already left. in a panic, she went sprinting out of the classroom and in the direction of your house only to see you waiting for her at the school gates.

kuroo knew tho,, bout kenma’s crush and had an inkling that you may like him back

he also almost “accidentally” let it slip a few times in front you

kenma always did smth to either shut him up or divert your attention elsewhere so you wouldn’t hear what kuroo was saying

poor kuroo he just wants to be that helpful senpai and see his two cute kohais get together

after a few too many “slip-ups” around you though, kenma made kuroo swear not to breathe a word of his crush to you

and kuroo reluctantly obliged,,,, but this boi still had a few things up his sleeve 😼😼

christmas time came and, as usual, everyone was abuzz with holiday fever and stress for the upcoming exams:,(

now during exam time, kuroo would often invite kenma to his house to study (even tho they’re in different grades) and this year was no different

except,,,,,, for some reason that some reason being kuroo you were also there??

kuroo and kenma were just sitting there talking about you when, coincidentally, the bell rang and they opened the door to you

“ah glad you could make it y/n ~” kuroo said in a playful tone upon your entrance

kenma knew he was up to something and few moments later, he was proven right

“actually now that you’re here, i got an errand i need to run. you two enjoy studying i’ll be back real quick;3”

you & kenma: “wAIT WHAT?!??” *internally panics at the thought of being alone with each other*

you: “sooo…👉👈”

kenma: “….👉👈”

let’s just say the two of you actually managed to do some a lot of studying cuz you two felt too shy to do anything else 

when kuroo came back, he couldn’t say he wasn’t surprised. he knew kenna would’ve been too shy to initiate anything but he figured you might’ve at least had the confidence to say smth

but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess you two were more similar than he thought

that just brought him to phase 2 of his grand plan to get you two together

which was to be carried out at the christmas party after exams…

i think a lot of people are already in 2021, but i just want to say a few things before i pass out and wake up in the new year -- i’ll be sure to keep it relatively short too ;)

dear reader,

let me start by saying that 2020 wasn’t exactly the best step for a new decade it was a disaster is what it really was. that being said, i want to tell you how proud i am of you for making it through this rollercoaster of a time. i’m happy that you’ve made it, and that we’ve stumbled across one another. 

back in january -- and even when i started 1-800-imagine in june or july? i really wasn’t expecting to be where i am now. only recently did writing actually become a hobby that i enjoyed. and through starting up the blog i also found a place to express all of that here, thanks to you. 

whether you’re one of my amazing mutuals or fantastic followers, i just want to say thank you. thank you for sticking with me through all of the shenanigans, and know that i wouldn’t trade any of you for the world. 

i’m being all sappy so i’ll start to wrap it up here.

lastly, a cheers (?) to a ringing in the new year. to a fresh start, a clean slate. to 2021, a year soon to be.

nekoma hot take hcs

✎ synopsis: random headcannons for the all of the nekoma team

from middle school all the way through the middle of high school, kuroo didn’t really have a sense of style and -- apart from his uniform -- wore anything marketed as “athleisure.”

kai has a green thumb, that part’s canonical. he’s just got plants decorated all over his home -- probably propagated more than half of them all by himself too, seems like he has the patience for it

from time to time yaku will go into the club room alone just to scream out any and all of his pent up emotions.

yamamoto thinks he's a phenomenal singer and will “practice” when it’s dead quite at home, only to have akane yell at him to stop.

i have a strong feeling that kenma listens to video game lofi remix playlists, more specifically like the nintendo or minecraft ones

when he was at home as a kid, fukunaga would set up all his stuffed animals so that he could practice his jokes on an audience

inuoka sleep walks, he just gives off that vibe don’t ask me what it is because i cannot tell you. on top of it, he’s a relatively heavy sleeper so he won’t remember a thing.

there’s something about teshiro tells me that he bakes. i’m not quite sure what it is, but he's probably very good at it too.

whenever they enter a room, inuoka and lev will always hit the top of the door frame. it’s to assert height dominance or something like that.

lev will also go into rooms with the intent of doing something, but will always forget what he needs to do by the time he gets there. he’s probably walked in on yaku screaming in the club room, and just turned in the other direction

shibayama remembers everybody’s birthdays, and he’ll be sure to go and celebrate yours with you -- even if no one else does

mmm i’d have to say that akaashi pulls up one of those ‘driving in the rain’ asmr videos to listen to as white noise while he gets work done. 

he’s someone who enjoys the ambiance of that type of weather; but when it comes to the rain itself: he’s pretty indifferent -- like he wouldn’t go out of his way to be out and about when it does rain. 

he’d much prefer to pull out the coziest of blankets, open up a good book, and watch the droplets drizzle down from the comfort of the inside.

twenty-five: “are you supposed to be my soulmate?” -- bokuto x reader

✎ inside scoop: and that’s a wrap -- the twenty-five days event has finally come to its end ✨thank you all for sticking around with me through this. the series was super fun to work on, and i was glad so many enjoyed!! 

“hey. hey (y/n),” a particularly grey-haired male approached, earning himself your utmost attention, “are you supposed to be my soulmate?” 

the question was abrupt, being able to catch you off your guard. something about the situation felt unserious; like a game, so you continued as such. “i don’t know, kou,” you proceeded, your voice hinted at your curiosity, “you tell me.”

“akaashi explained it to me earlier,” he told you, “he said ‘it’s those who you feel easily connected with and deeply understand; typically the ones you love, bokuto-san.’” the male’s impression of his buddy was notable, making you laugh out loud a little. 

“and, well i think what he said was true,” bokuto continued, he placed a hand on his chin in a methodical manner “our connection, it’s kinda like a setter and the ace -- but even stronger.” while his comparison was rather frivolous, it did hold quite some truth. 

from a young age, bokuto had always been able to easily connect with others around him; however, only few held the ability to establish such a deep rooted relationship in such a short amount of time -- you especially included. 

whenever you seemed to be near, the male was always overwhelmed by this mysteriously comfortable sensation -- a familiarity even stronger than say konoha or akaashi. 

it was almost like if you had known each other beyond your time together -- beyond your stand alone lifetimes. and although that time together was only a year or so, bokuto felt as if he knew you like the back of his hand. everything he seemed to know about you was like a sixth sense. 

that familiarity was what made you stand out among the crowd of your peers. it’s what had drawn the male so close to you, almost like a string of fate that pulled the two of you together.

“if that’s how you feel,” you answered, “i suppose i could be your soulmate.” bokuto’s intuition was something that you not only admired but trusted as well. 

bokuto’s eyes grew wide and his spikes of grey and black hair bounced as he did. his loud declaration of “i found my soulmate,” echoed the hall with every hop, skip, and jump.

twenty-four: “i made this for you” -- yachi x reader

“hey uh (y/n)!” yachi called out, walking from her classroom to yours. 

“what’s up hitoka?” you took a few steps forward, meeting her in the middle of the hallway. the blonde seemed a little more anxious than usual -- odd, considering she had grown quite comfortable around you. her eyes averted your gaze, opting to stare down at her shaking hands instead. 

“i’ve got something for you,” she mentioned, digging around her school bag. she pulled a small object out -- her hand concealed it in a tight ball. “it’s for our anniversary,” yachi continued, loosening her grip to reveal a small charm of some sort.

in the center of the blonde’s palm was a gold chain, with a star as the clip. attached to it looked like none other than one of her own designs: it was a thorough picture of space -- stars surrounding the moon. 

you took notice of its counterpart, which hung by a moon clip on the zipper of yachi’s bag. leaning down, you carefully examined the design of the other charm while it laid flat in yachi’s palm, observing even the smallest, most delicate of details -- each of those sparkly, little stars and the figure in the moon. 

the image represented so much meaning about your relationship: the stars and the moon were so close -- from your perception stargazing on earth -- while still being quite distant. it highlighted how you and yachi’s busy, conflicting schedules kept you apart; thought that didn’t hold the two of you back from a tight relationship. 

“i made this for you,” yachi explained, her brittle voice snapped you back to the moment at hand, “i. . .if you don’t like it -- the design -- i can just take it back.”

your eyes grew wide with confusion. her gift meant so much to you -- it was something you wouldn’t even trade it for the world. the blonde’s thorough and tidy work was something you had evidently admired. 

“it’s perfect,” you assure her. your fingers intertwined with the chain of the charm, while the other hand reached for that of yachi’s. “i’m going to cherish it forever!” you exclaimed, swinging your intertwined extremities as you walked along -- steps in sync
