something thats been bouncing in my head since you started adding snake features to your design of mk is the idea that he could be venomous. china has more then a few venomous snakes and I'm not sure if its mentioned with nuwa but i feel like that be kinda fitting if she was venomous literally and metaphoricly imagine him horsing around with mei one day (heh horsing) and the two being grimlins biting is of course involved and suddenly she's having a reaction. (i know there's common effects to most of not all bites but i think certain kinds of snake venoms can have different health effects too) how freaking terrifying that would be especially if this was the first time after years of biting each other and nothing happening. like it was a trait that unlocked after mk reaching a certain age or after unlocking his monkie (+plus snake?) form. although i'd like to think it could be more mood triggered, like when he feels really angry or if he just gets an instinctive urge to bite when he feels threatened.

I do wonder if biologically his monkey features would get in the way of the snake features. Like I don't draw him with scales, just the facial features of snake-like appearances, his eyes, and then the palms of his hands seemingly being the same as a snake's underbelly (i do this with my hybrid snake-monkey ocs too so yknow)

Or if it's just a mental block of the body that knows biting friend = no venom or something. so it gets unlocked by accident like you said when he accidentally poisons xiaojiao or maybe even someone else? biting is a common little fighting tactic imo and it's sometimes used for gags (see: xiaojiao biting red son's hand in the spider queen special)

i do want him to get a little more snake features :(

I think it would be pretty neat

(and Nuwa is not given a specific species but i DO headcanon her as venomous actually)

I don’t think even Macaque could withstand the tragedy that is quick fire films that have the couple kiss, date immediately, say they love each other, cheat, get back together, rinse and repeat for one hour with added unnecessary drama and miscommunication that could’ve easily been avoided
