NOT A POST SUGGESTION: hi! thought i’d reach out since i noticed you had a burst of activity a few months ago. i run a similar blog @adhd-culture--is that i started during your hiatus in early 2022. i decided to start it since i saw the inactivity of this blog, and now i understand why lol… it’s really hard to keep up. i hope you’re doing well, because this blog is very cool (congrats on the transition anthony!!!) and i want to make sure we don’t ever butt heads in the future. feel free to reach out!
Thank you for reaching out! This blog has been pretty dead especially since I started university, I’m glad someone else stepped up to make one! I’m hoping to start this blog up again eventually but I’m glad there are more out there. Take care :)

ADHD culture is scrolling through every ADHD + ND culture blog you can find because showering or sleeping would mean taking out the headphones and I will NOT go back to being alone with my brain (or what’s left of it)

ADHD culture is finding out in middle school caffeine doesn't work correctly on you because you got a coffee for your test that day hoping it'll keep you awake only to promptly pass out as soon as you get seated (thought this would be a funny to share story)
Hilarious, thank you

non-adhd person here, if it's alright I want to ask for advice (if not just go ahead and delete this ask I won't mind)
this upcoming academic year, I'll be living with 3 other people who all have adhd. I want to figure out a chore system that makes sure everything gets done before it gets gross, but that also works well with executive dysfunction and avoids creating feelings of guilt when people are having bad days or weeks, without one person having to do all the work. any suggestions?
Followers, do we have any advice for this person?

Adhd culture is being treated differently your entire life, like you're stupid and don't learn fast enough for anyone.
I've been treated differently my entire life everywhere and didn't understand it until now. I work differently, and the rest of the nurses I work with don't understand what I'm doing or why. Everything gets done safely, correctly, etc. They don't understand my thought process and from the outside I must look really stupid.
I'm not stupid. I'm a great nurse, I just do things differently.
Adhd culture is finally understanding "I'm not disabled, I'm differently abled". I found it cringy for so long and now I understand
ADHD culture is also the struggle of finding people who find your energy/interests infecious and charming

I hate it when I post on this blog and then later I want to Reblog something and don't notice that it's still set to post here
can you post that video of that anti-immigration guy getting egged on camera
March 2019: Senator Frasier Anning outs himself as a Neo-Nazi after making disparaging remarks about a shooting at a mosque. In response a teenager approached him at a press conference and cracked an egg on his head.
The elated public widely hailed the newly dubbed national hero "Egg Boy" with artworks being made in his image, and $100,000 raised in order to help him "buy more eggs".
Anning lost his seat in the next election, and his party was deregistered. He was declared bankrupt only a year later, and by 2021 authorities announced that they could no longer locate Anning, suspecting he had fled the country.

ADHD culture is patiently explaining why you do/can’t do certain things in certain ways, apologizing for someone else’s frustration in the matter, and offering a solution that will probably result in the desired outcome… and then still being dismissed as “lazy and full of excuses.”

adhd culture is like playing a game of dnd called Life, where your Checks to Succeed on starting/completing tasks can vary but usually take a 15+ (at disadvantage) to pass.Meanwhile, you have some neurotypical players that only have to roll a 6-8+ to succeed their own checks, and wonder why you’re failing smth that’s supposed to be easy or simple.

So technically I'm not supposed to stop taking my meds all at once, my prescriber needs to lower the dosage until I'm weaned off of it. But you know, I HAVE ADHD, so long story short I've been forgetting all of my meds for two months straight and I still can't tell the difference???
ADHD culture is having people ask you if the meds work but having no idea
I. Don't Know???? I mean. they could've worked. I wasn't paying attention either way

ADHD culture is having people know about ADHD and the difficulties of it but on an incredibly basic level, and they try to help but they do it in a way that shows just how they don't really understand the actual struggles
