sometimes when you want to download a video from a site, you will see blob: in the webcode instead of an .mp4 file.
there are many extensions that can help you download videos like these: HLS Downloader, Stream Recorder, a directory full of them on github, and a bunch of others
for what i usually do however you will need JDownloader.
after you've installed it, first right click on that webpage you're trying to get the video from, and click Inspect.
then go to Network and type in ".m3u8"
RELOAD THE PAGE!!!!
and play the video and you should get something that contains "master" (it's the first one for me). this will contain the file in all its resolutions. you click on that once, and this will pop out.
copy the Request URL you get into JDownloader: right click while you're on the LinkGrabber tab, select "Add New Links" and just copy what you've copied. if you have had JDownloader open the whole time, then it will automatically add itself.
then you will get a folder or folders containing the video. right click on the highest resolution, and then on Start Download
it will take you to the Downloads tab where you can access the video
Netflix
the same method will NOT work for netflix as it does contain blob: videos, but the Network tab will not show you .m3u8 files. instead of .m3u8, you need to type in ?o
you will get a BUNCH of links. it's better to click on the Name tab once so it's organized by name.
you will see two files - one's audio and the other is a video file. i don't know which is which so it usually takes a bit more time. i find that the videos are in order of appearance: 0-4095 will be for the first video on the page, 10231271-10304899 is for the second video and so on.
what you need to do next is copy the Request URL
and copy it into the search bar, and DELETE what's between "net/" and "?o"
you need to hit enter and then it will download an .exe file for you.
when you click on it, it will send you to the folder it's located in. click on the file and select your preferred video player to open it with.
