MHA Chapter 421 spoilers translations

This week’s initial tentative super rough/literal translations under the cut.

1 おまえらもかよ omaera mo ka yo "You guys too, huh?"

2 そっちもな socchi mo na "And you as well."

3 警察から"まだ戦える者は"って……！けいさつから"まだたたかえるものは"って……！ keisatsu kara "mada tatakaeru mono wa" tte......! "[I heard] from the police, 'Who is still able to fight?'......!"

8 かつてガンギマリだった彼はかつてガンギマリだったかれは katsute GANGIMARI datta kare wa "and one time his face was so intense and distant*." (Note: What Sero is saying here is that one time Shouto had this look on his face that is described by the Japanese slang word: gangimari. Gangimari refers to an intense, eyes-wide face that comes from a marijuana high. It also refers to a feeling of emptiness that comes with the high. If you search for images of the face, you'll see it's often a frightening look. I believe Sero here is referring to the face Shouto makes at him in their sports festival battle in chapter 34, so I believe this description is meant to refer to how Shouto was overwhelmed with anger and mentally somewhat removed from the fight itself.)

2 婆さんも怪我人(?)をX続けて限界(?)だ…XXできるかどうか… ばあさんもけがにん(?)をXつづけてげんかい(?)だ…XXできるかどうか… baasan mo keganin(?) wo X tsudzukete genkai(?) da... XX dekiru ka dou ka... (Note: This line is only partly legible. I've skipped figuring it out in the interest of time and may come back to it later. The gist of this line is something like "The old lady is also at her limit with injured persons... Whether or not anything can be done...")

3 あんたいても母さんたち熱いだけだあんたいてもかあさんたちあついだけだ anta itemo kaasan-tachi atsui dake da Even with you here, mom and the others will only be hot.

4 行きなよいきなよ iki na yo So go.

6 行かなきゃーーーいかなきゃーーー ikanakya--- "I have to go---"

Obscure BkDkBk Bkg Birthday Week Recs

This is an account I follow on Twt to get lesser known fic recs, and I love it! I’ve found some of my favs in this particular ship this way, and I even got recced there myself once, which was a great feeling 😁 I participated in their fic rec week to celebrate Bakugou’s birthday this year, because while I am very much a multishipper, a good chunk of my BNHA Bookmarks (318/806 atm) are BkDkBk. Already shared most of these over on their account, but wanted to put them all in one post here. Their criteria are that a fic has to have less than 10,000 hits for a one shot or less than 5,000 hits per chapter for a multichapter, so you won’t find any of the big name fics here (except in a small addendum at the end because I can't help myself). Side note - many of these authors have written a lot, so be sure to check out some of their other works 😊

Day 1 - Pro Hero Bakugou These are wildly different, but I love both of them:

Day 2: Alternate Universe Bakugou This was the category I had the hardest time narrowing down, but it had to fit in one tweet! Try these:

One of my all time favs but it fits this category so well - pining Bkg and Oblivious Dk - Here here, my friends and me (You are my familia) by Jeka (yes it has a few too many hits but its soooo goood)

Day 7: All Time Favorite BkDkBk All time favorite that I’ve written - multiverse quirk accident - I Will Find You by Purple_Insomniac All time favorites that I’ve read that fit the hits criteria:

Murder mystery - Memory Trace by cinnabee and WildMage

Magic mystery - A Skeptic’s Guide to Ghosts by yoboseyo (unfinished, slow to update, but soooo worth a read)

One of the best MCD fics I've ever read - Handprint on My Heart by hollyandvice

QL!Izuku, PH Bakugou, both having a rough time but there for each other - Broke Boys by SamIsNotLegend (also unfinished, also sooooo worth a read)

AND FINALLY, because I can't help myself, the small (haha) addendum of other favs many of which are decidedly NOT obscure BkDkBk. When I saw the topic for the last day, I sat down and rattled off a list of favs that came to mind, then went back and checked the hits for each. These are the ones that had too many hits for this list, but they're still great, and who knows, maybe you haven't seen them all!
