I was thinking about the mars rover then I remembered space cores lines where he’s talking about how space is too big and scary boring and he wants to go back home. So I made art based on that

GLaDOS conducts a second retrieval mission for Space Core after Wheatley tells her and Chell that he wasn’t actually happier up there. He’s shut down by the time they find him but GLaDOS is able to repair him and makes a planetarium for him. She likes the cores a little more and actually enjoys his company. At least he’s mindlessly rambling about science instead of tea and the queen.

He’s very relieved to be home and synthetically cries about it

GLaDOS designed Wheatley’s android so I doubt she would make his similar to her own. The design for his optic frame has been carried over, with a nook between his eyes over his nose bridge to resemble round glasses, making him look a little stupid. His hair is less obviously synthetic compared to GLaDOS and it’s much messier. He’s also more hastily put together, which is why bolts are visible on his chin. She also made him quite round, because he was formerly a ball, and made him shorter than Chell (with her long fall boots) in order to negate any attempts at intimidation from him. She kept him different even down to his neck mechanics. Kinda gives insight into her superiority complex and strange perception of human social constructs. Especially when it comes to physical appearance.

This reminded me of how my android GLaDOS design doesn’t actually need to use her mouth and just does so to appear more human and when she’s mad she just speaks over the PA system while staring menacingly with her mouth closed

The background is: the rescas, barney in the vent watching Gordon be dragged away, Gordon being dragged away, and Gman. Thought it would be funny (misery inducing) if Barney, at some point had said something like “I’ll always protect you, it’s my job.” Jokingly and it haunts his every waking moment because he couldn’t protect Gordon.
