Bands pull out of SXSW over U.S. Army sponsorship, Gaza war

The conversation around this is interesting. I heard marketers this weekend discussing that since the War in Ukraine, and with concerns around China invading Taiwan the U.S. Army sponsorship seemed less out of place and actually welcomed to SXSW. There's a business/technology vs musician/artist dynamic here , but also a generational one. I do wonder if that's just because people seem to get more (traditionally) conservative with age, or if it's the specific life and historical events of the older generation (ie knew the USSR, lived through 9/11).
