Unveiling the Triumph of AEW: Defying Doubts and Celebrating Success
Tumblr media
In the dynamic world of professional wrestling, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been a constant subject of discussion, especially regarding attendance concerns. Despite the ebb and flow that characterized 2023, AEW stands resilient, proving that success is multifaceted and not solely defined by weekly attendance figures.
A Rollercoaster Year for AEW

The downside commenced after a historic milestone as AEW orchestrated the grand spectacle, All In, at Wembley in London. This monumental event etched its name in history, racking up the most tickets ever sold for a Professional Wrestling show. However, the following weeks witnessed a fluctuation in weekly show attendance, sparking discussions within the internet wrestling community.
Naysayers, Empty Crowds & Resilience

Critics emerged, amplifying their voices through pictures of seemingly empty arenas, particularly focusing on the 'hard-cam side.' The narrative of AEW's impending downfall echoed through the online wrestling sphere, with many speculating that the company's demise was imminent. These problems have been detailed by Shawn Van Horn of TheSportster.

Tony Khan, the CEO and President of AEW, faced the brunt of these critiques. Despite recent challenges in selling out arenas for weekly shows, Khan remains undeterred. Notably, the pay-per-view (PPV) attendances throughout the year have been solid, as detailed by Wrestlenomics, showcasing a distinct upward trend in AEW's 2023 buyrates.
A Glimpse of Positivity & Tony Khan's Perspective

Recent footage from Dynamite at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, provided by Twitter user nikoexxtra, showcases a vibrant, packed audience, passionately engaged throughout the show. As reported by POST Wrestling, in a recent ROH Final Battle media scrum, Tony Khan addressed the persistent criticism aimed at AEW. With conviction, he stated,
"To be AEW is to be under constant attack. You do a great show and the next day somebody’s saying something negative."
Khan's unwavering commitment to his vision is evident, emphasizing that external noise does not sway his focus.
The Road Ahead

How Can All Elite Wrestling Regain Its Momentum?
Tumblr media
In the ever-evolving world of professional wrestling, staying at the top isn't a cakewalk. All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a relative newcomer, has made a significant impact since its inception. However, maintaining and regaining momentum in the wrestling industry is a challenge that even the most seasoned promotions face.
One of the cornerstones of AEW's success is its commitment to delivering high-quality wrestling action. However, maintaining momentum can be as challenging as a cage match. According to a Gamerant article, AEW must focus on regaining momentum after setbacks. Just like a wrestler needs to recover from a beatdown, AEW can revitalize its brand by assessing its strengths and weaknesses, learning from past experiences, and building on its signature moves (successful strategies) while evolving to keep fans engaged.
MJF's Candid Perspective On Company Identity
Tumblr media
Photo via All Elite Wrestling & Wrestlezone The self-proclaimed "Salt of the Earth," MJF, brings a unique perspective to the table in a Sportskeeda article. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining the company's identity. Just as MJF finds AEW fitting him like a glove, AEW should ensure that its identity resonates with fans. Staying true to what makes AEW stand out is key in regaining lost momentum.
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, And Threats (SWOT) Analysis
Tumblr media
SWOT via Wrestlenomics
Wrestlenomics offers insight by providing a SWOT analysis. AEW must evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. This SWOT is a little outdated, but by keeping an up-to-date, comprehensive, honest SWAT internally, AEW has a much better chance to regain its competitive edge.
The Power Of Media Relations And Strategic Partnerships
Tumblr media
Photo via All Elite Wrestling & CNET In a world where perception matters as much as performance, media relations play a pivotal role. Fleishman Hillard's case study highlights how effective media relations strategies can elevate a wrestling promotion. AEW should consider harnessing the power of media to create buzz, increase visibility, and regain lost momentum. After all, in the wrestling industry, it's not just about what happens in the ring but also how it's portrayed outside of it.

In an article by The Signature Spot, the idea of establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with other promotions is explored. AEW can learn from this and collaborate with other wrestling organizations to create exciting crossover events and storylines. This can bring fresh energy to its product and attract a broader audience.
Kenny Omega's Blueprint For Greatness
Tumblr media
Photo via All Elite Wrestling & USA Today Finally, let's take inspiration from one of AEW's top stars, Kenny Omega. As outlined in a Muscle and Fitness article, Kenny became elite by going “All In” on his craft. AEW, too, can regain its momentum by pushing boundaries, innovating, and continually striving for excellence. Unfortunately, this is a blueprint Kenny will undoubtedly have to apply again in his battle with diverticulitis.

Regaining momentum in the wrestling industry is no small feat, but AEW has the tools and talent to achieve it. By embracing the art of momentum regeneration, staying true to its identity, conducting a thorough SWOT analysis, leveraging media relations, building strategic partnerships, and pursuing excellence like Kenny Omega, AEW can reignite the spark and once again dominate the wrestling landscape.

Wrasslin' Thoughts
I wish we had time for a Dustin Rhodes run at the top with the gold. It could be a great story to get him there, and he could pass the torch on to someone else or drop it back to whoever the champ was after a couple good defenses. It would be such a shame for him to put so much into this business like his dad and others like Scott Hall and be deserving but never get the gold.

Is CM Punk The Man Behind The Devil Mask in AEW? I Think So
Tumblr media
Surprises and plot twists are the lifeblood of professional wrestling, from the legendary night Hulk Hogan dropped the leg on Macho Man forming the nWo, to any number of unexpected returns of fan favorites. Wrestling fans thrive on the unexpected.
With the pro wrestling rumor mill abuzz in speculation of who might be lurking behind the enigmatic Devil Mask, my theory, if true, has the strong potential to change the landscape of AEW and the wrestling world, as well as set the stage for an epic showdown that will have fans at the edge of their seats.
I Think CM Punk Is Under That Devil Mask
Tumblr media

The Devil has been a central figure in recent AEW storylines again. With numerous theories and conjectures circulating among wrestling enthusiasts, one theory that has gained considerable traction after being humorously floated by Bully Ray on Busted Open, suggests that the man under the Devil Mask could be none other than CM Punk. This idea raises many intriguing questions about the motivations behind Punk's return and the potential implications.
CM Punk's departure from AEW was already a major moment in the industry. If he is indeed the one behind the mask, it would indicate a significant reconciliation between Punk and the promotion after an ugly departure. Although, if true, it brings EVERYTHING that has happened, including Brawl Out, into question. How will all of that be woven into the story?
Setting the Stage for a Clash of Titans
Tumblr media

If Punk is revealed to be the man behind the mask, it brings the entire Devil storyline full circle. It harkens back to the ROH promo that MJF invoked on Punk, and I think Brawl Out, Punk's Firing, and everything in between could be the "Real" Devil (Punk) convincing the world he doesn't exist once again. This could set up Punk vs MJF on Collison for the 25th, putting arguably the hottest storyline in the wrestling industry up against a WWE big-four show.
youtube
The timing is perfect. I think the reveal of CM Punk as the man behind the Devil Mask is set for some time on or before Dynamite in Chicago, which is November 22, just a few days before WWE's annual extravaganza, Survivor Series, on November 25, the same night as a live Collision. This proximity has led me to speculate that Tony Khan and CM Punk may have orchestrated a monumental surprise that could have AEW Collision overshadow WWE's marquee event. AFFILLIATE LINK: AEW Unmatched Series 4 CM Pun Figure
The stakes are high, and the potential impact of such a matchup is immeasurable. CM Punk's return was like a breath of fresh air for the wrestling world until all the ugliness. Maybe it's all just fueled by wishful thinking, but it would be nice if all that didn’t go to waste, and instead contributed to a historic storyline.
AEW vs. WWE – A Battle of Epic Proportions
Tumblr media

Wrestling fans are well aware of the historic rivalry between WWE and AEW. Both promotions have been vying for supremacy in the wrestling industry, and if CM Punk's return culminates in a championship match at AEW's event, it will undoubtedly serve as a direct challenge to WWE's Survivor Series to bring the thunder. If we don’t know until the 22nd, that doesn’t give WWE a lot of time to meet the challenge. This potential showdown between the two promotions could set the wrestling world on fire and lead to even more intense competition between the giants.
It would really shake things up if AEW has just been taking it on the chin for the last couple of months to set up such a colossal clap back at naysayers.
The Art of Surprise and Speculation
Tumblr media
Photo via AEW
The wrestling world has always thrived on unpredictability and the element of surprise. The ongoing speculation surrounding CM Punk's next move epitomizes this essence. It's a testament to the power of storytelling and character development in professional wrestling even if he just moves on to WWE. Real life can still help keeps fans engaged and invested in pro wrestling characters.
AFFILLIATE LINK: MJF Kiss The Ring Shirt
While the anticipation and excitement surrounding Punk are palpable, it's essential to remember that professional wrestling is built on storytelling, and sometimes, the most unexpected twists are a part of that narrative. As we approach November 22, I am holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed, eagerly waiting to see the mask fall, revealing the identity of the Devil himself once again: CM Punk.
Ultimately, whether CM Punk is revealed as the mastermind behind the Devil Mask or not, the story has already captured the hearts and minds of wrestling fans worldwide. It's a testament to the enduring appeal of the sport and the ability of its performers and promoters to keep fans guessing and coming back for more. The countdown to November 22 has begun, and I think we are in for a thrilling ride.
