Lost in the Dark (Anniversary Event)

Toukara watched Hana carefully as the girl stared out the window

“Hana…? Are you ok?”

“It’s been a year now”

Toukara flew over to her and settled herself on Hana’s head. She had forgotten the date but suddenly her pup’s strange behavior made sense “It has, one year since you moved to Paris. How are you feeling?”

Hana sighed as she gazed out toward the lights of the city “I don’t know, I reflect back on everything that’s happened, I lost my parents, my aunt who I thought loved me and would help bring things back to normal tried to kill me. How many mistakes have I made? How many more will I?” she sighed.

Toukara cuddled Hana, snuggling further into her hair in hopes it would bring the girl some comfort.

“I just, I want to be better than this. I don’t want to be some scared lost child anymore. But I feel like everything is so complicated and I don’t know what’s right. I just wish Mom were here, I bet she knew what to do when she was a holder…”

Toukara listened to Hana as she spoke, listening to her pain and confliction before sighing “Do you remember the gift you mother gave you on your 10th birthday?”

Hana glanced up curiously before getting up. She dug around in boxes for a bit before she finally pulled out a small box.

“Mom gave this to me but...it’s locked. She told me that when the time came, I would be able to open it. I used to whine to her for hours because I wanted to know so badly what was inside”

Toukara nodded and flew off somewhere before returning with a golden key “I think now is the right time”

So I have redone my commissions to be more suited around the time frame I usually spent with each of my commissions.

However, as of late, the college I have applied for, did not accept me which will result in an entire year spent building up my portfolio again but also spending time getting my driver’s license. I am unemployed due to spending a year in college. I hope to at least find a job but for now I would be dependent on doing commissions for the time being.

Kurao walked along the tops of the Parisian roofs. After being inside for so long she just needed a change of pace and to be outside. She winced softly, although she wasn’t in as much pain as she had been, her burns from the previous akuma attack had never fully healed. Thankfully they were mostly covered up by her outfit. Singur had just came from his encounter with Halogi and now he felt just down right horrible, but now he knew he had to do this more then ever. He held himself as he walked determined to find S. He has too. He has too.

Kurao was able to dodge the first few attacks that he threw at her before he finally tripped her up and she fell. She cried out in agony as she fell onto her injuries. She curled up in a fetal position as the pain overwhelmed her and rendered her immobile. She looked up at Singur weakly, tears of both emotional and physical pain dripping from her eyes

“Please Vlad…don’t do this…you are better than they are”

Kurao ran a little quicker in order to catch up with the akuma before jumping and landing gracefully in front of them. Her eyes widened a bit at the sight of the akuma. She had seen many akumas in her time in Paris but very few looking as sorrowful and distraught as this one. As she studied the akuma closer though it became aparent that this akuma was…

Kurao felt her heart shatter, this pain was worse the any pain her burns had ever caused. Then she felt anger. She had see the articles and heard the rumors. Who was enough of a monster to hurt someone as sweet and gentle as Vlad.

“That…is an extremely complicated question. I would say I have grown closer to some adult holders. To consider them a parent though…I can’t. After a few hours, but what felt like forever, here was the moment: Their baby boy.

The nurse walked over, gently placing their son in Natalya’s arms. Natalya, weak from the labor but overjoyed either way, gently cradled him. A soft smile on her face.

“Hi Michael,” she teared up a bit, “Oh my god... He’s absolutely precious.”

Gabriel leaned in close, this time.

All his anxiety and worry seemed to go away in this moment. The very sight of his future was before him. Tears of joy were rapidly trickling down.

“Hola, mijo,” he wipes away some tears before leaning closer to Natalya, “I think we’re going to do just great.”
