Lanolin had already figured Surge out on some level. She'd read her file, talked with Sonic and Tails on the matter. It was true that Amy was all for giving her a second chance, but Lanolin was a bit more skeptical even if she kept her trap shut on the matter. But funny as it was she and Tangle were probably not so different. Neither liked to sit put, and neither could stand menial tasks locked in a box! Seeing that moment of discomfort from Surge got a slight smile out of the Sheep. She could be a little twisted when she wanted couldn't she?

" Uh Huh... must be strange knowing your fate is in my hooves..."

She made a couple notes on her data pad

" Possibly, we send in units to scout areas, clear left over Badniks and ensure areas are safe for our recovery teams to move in. Is no guarantee there will be hostiles, but it happens often enough... so we tend to send in our combat ready fighters first to be safe. "

" As for our best? well you probably rank up there considering. Though i don't know how you'd measure up to Miss Blaze or Mr. Mighty... but if reports are accurate--- i'd say you have a shot at that title. Are there any other questions before i give you an assignment? "

Surge wasn't fazed by the stare Lanolin was giving, nor did she find the wisp of any concern. The tenrec was surprised they let her near this things given what happened with Whisper, though guessed that was more because of that fancy gizmo she stole from Eggman. Could she use wisp energy on her own? Theories to test for later.

"So, what you're saying is I'll most likely be going out to bash bots, right? I mean, with me on your team I gotta be your heaviest and fastest hitter." Surge seems high confident in her fighting ability.

Then Surge was told about the warehouse, something that swiftly made her tense up. "NO!" The tenrec would suddenly shout before realizing just how loud she was. "I mean, uh, I suck at counting and stuff. That's more up Kit's alley. Kids got a good memory and junk. Besides, he doesn't like fighting so just leave all that fighting jobs to me, cool?"

She wasn't even sure why she spoke of it, in truth outside of Shadow she hadn't really spoke of it to anyone. She didn't expect Kit to think or say much concerning it. She wasn't ashamed of who she was or how she grew up. It molded her into the woman she would become, and she was proud of how far she'd come. From silly little street rat, to professional thief and secret agent. She'd call that a success story if ever there was one.

Her eyes turned to Kit and she smiled waving a hand at her with a gentle smile.

" Oh Honey don't fret about it, It's long past and i'm a very successful woman now days. From ratty little urchin to world famous jewel thief! i'd call that a movie in the making don't you think? "

She gave a soft little laugh

" As for the gift--- i'm sure it'll be Divine! after all a woman of your talents is bound to think of something astounding! "

She was however curious just who his wife was now, and what kind of woman could instill so much fear! but better not to poke a sleeping bear she reminded herself. No need to have to make a quick escape from a bedroom window again. After all, she had quite the pretty fennec prize right here didn't she? In fact her prize was blushing up a storm! Quite the prize Rouge reminded herself, quite the prize indeed!

" Well, i'm glad the terms are acceptable--- and you make a fair point, i should defiantly be stealing the lips of the finest Gem in the kingdom shouldn't i? "

She gave Kit a playful win as she ran a finger under her chin to entice her closer before pressing her lips to the others, Stealing her first kiss from the Royal.

" Ah a Shopping Spree? Well i suppose i could help... as long as we can keep our hands to ourselves it should go smoothly..."

Kit couldn't help frown upon hearing that Rouge had grown on the streets, something she couldn't truly understand given the fact her father was the King and protective at that. That said, the fennec was unsure of what to say about this information. Would it be rude to say anything about it given the life she herself has or is it rude not saying anything? Oh, now the Queen is overthinking.

Luckily Rouge did offer a small scapegoat to Kit mentioning on how she'll come up with something. "Yes, and I shall make sure it is the best possible gift I could think of." The fennec's main skill was the fact she was a chemist, though wasn't sure she could make something that would be good for the bat that way. The Queen did have a good grasp on engineering, so maybe she could build something for the thief.

Kit was so lost in thought that she almost forgot she was in the middle of a conversation, though thankful still heard what Rouge said. "Well, I thank you for sharing with me, even if you didn't have to. I'm sure it wasn't easy growing up in such a situation." It was clear the fennec was being careful not to be insensitive. "Ah, yes, Friedrich wife is one of the few people who can tell him what to do. She is certainly a strong-willed woman."

Kit was quick to blush once more as Rouge suddenly leaned down and kissed her, something that clearly caught her off guard. The fennec wasn't going to object of course. "I suppose that is a fair arrangement. You have a deal." The Queen was glad they came to a good agreement, though she was still blushing madly.

"I can only recommend that you don't risk it. Besides, who would be around to steal kisses from me?" Kit asked, jumping in on the joke just a bit. That might be the fennec's best joke yet that didn't come off as odd or terrible.

"Spicy?" Kit asked, seeming to think about what Rouge meant before it clicked. "Oh, um, I only have royal attire, lab uniforms, and a few small dress's to wear. I, haven't had many dates which I'm sure you can believe." The fennec didn't hide that she hasn't dated and was sure her terrible flirting skills and reaction to being flirted with gave it away.

"Perhaps we could do a little shopping before and you can help me pick something out. How does that sound?" Kit had a faint blush saying that, seeming the thought of having Rouge helping her pick out some clothes for their date.

Amy crossed her arms thinking heavily on Alphonsus plan, and nothing about it sat well with her. First she'd rather he strike a base of Eggman's in her world. Mostly because she could more adequately assist him here. Secondly just the two of them? That was likely to end in disaster. What they needed was someone with experience breaking into places like these, and who wouldn't mind putting there life on the line. She knew of the best candidate but she wasn't sure if she'd be willing to drop everything and lend a paw.

" It's dangerous no matter how you swing it Al... but i'm not saying No, but i think we need an infiltration expert. Someone who has done this sort of thing before. Funny enough i know someone who made a name for herself doing just that "

" Of course that's assuming she'll pick the phone up... Whisper isn't the easiest girl to get ahold of. But if anyone is gonna get you into that place, without alerting every badnik across the planet its her. "

She sighed

" And i'm not doubting your skills Al, Heck i've busted into my share of bases in the past to. But Whisper was part of an elite force running circles around Eggman during the War. Even after she was taking bases out on her own. She's got something i lack--- Experience. And if we are gonna hack the Egg net we need to get in unnoticed... least eggman shut us out before we even get there. "

" So yea i'll help... but we gotta do things proper--- I'm not that naive girl i use to be. I'm the General! and i'm gonna do things right! so don't worry! i got yer back! "

It was true. The very idea of stealing schematics from the big man himself was a hazardous thought, but if he wanted to live as he wanted to live...Alphonse couldn't see any other way. He could hear her worry and concern for him in her voice. A soft smile came to his face and he approached the pink hedgehog to set a reassuring hand on her arm.

"Don't worry Amy, I have many recorded worlds in my files. I'm sure one of them has a rather careless Robotnik that has a bad habit of leaving his things scattered about. Even if it's out of reach here... I can check those realms. I can think of three possible bases off the top of my head and an Eggcarrier that might hold the plans. Besides! Don't forget! I'm still a Metal Sonic! No one can catch me if I don't want them to!"

That being said, he had his concerns too. If he was caught by Eggman for sticking his chasis where it didn't belong, there was the real possibility of finding out what happens when someone tries to put his power core into something else. He had a feeling it wouldn't be pretty. Considering that his Time Stone was his consciousness, his programming was more like a list of instructions akin to a user manual for him. If he disagreed with something he ignored it or deleted it from his programming, it had happened quite a few times just with his normal code. He...didn't wanna know what happened if someone tried to put him into another badnik that didn't have good intentions. Likely something may explode.

"If you're really so worried, why not come along? You and I both know your people can handle things while you're gone for a little while. You've been cooped up doing paperwork every time I've seen you! That...although important, doesn't really sound like your style Aims. When's the last time you got to smack a droid with your hammer? Also...you've seen what happens if I'm out matched in a fight. Having some back up would sure make me feel better too."

His eyes didn't seem convinced, after all he knew the thoughts in his head and what he was made for. Kit was after all a Bio-Weapon designed to do one thing. Kill the Heroes of his world, to decimate them and bring about a new world order. He'd hurt people, and tried to kill Tails more then once. Even now his mind was pulled toward that task even though he fought to resist it. It was hard to think he was anything but a bad person. He was made that way--- it was hard to resist one's function.

" You wouldn't? Even if i was made to kill heroes? Even if i hurt alot of people? You are a very confusing person Serene... maybe it is why i continue to enjoy your company..."

He had to admit to himself, the fact Serene never judged him or his past and accepted him for WHAT he was. that was likely the one thing that made him so comfortable around her and Dawn to.

" I... Suppose that is true, like any good problem seeking an answer to hard will result in missing the obvious. Though if i am honest--- i dont know if i deserve friends... i guess i'm a little afraid of what people will think or say if they find out what i am... plus i'm not the most likable person... "

As always he doubted himself it was ingrained into his mind by Starline to keep Kit passive and docile.

" ... even people on Avalice give me funny stares... maybe because i'm mobian? or perhaps it's something else--- i don't know i just feel very uneasy around people..."

"A bad person? I don't think you are at all. I wouldn't have cared if you used to be a witch or a mad scientist plotting to take over the world. I care about who you are right now. A friend, and that's all that matters to me. That's the only variable I need right now."

"I can go on and on about the magic of friendship and emotions being power, but that doesn't matter in the slightest, really. What matters is that when you strip it down to its most basic form, a friend is someone to hang out with. To laugh and play with. Someone to talk to. A playful rival. Anyone. They are everywhere, Kit. And they mean so much to so many people. The reason it seems so complicated is that the formula is always changing, even if the 'X' that is you remains the same."

She makes a grand gesture to the wide world around them and emphasizes her point with a twirl, "If you go out looking for friends, they will be scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you'll find them everywhere. That's the trick, Kit. Predict the next shift in the formula by reframing the question into one you can understand. Maybe then you'll see the 'Z' and the 'Y' too."

"So... do I gotta do missions and shit?" Surge asked, seeming completely uninterested, though she guessed she should try to be a 'team player' or whatever. To Lanolin

The sheep gave Surge a deadpan stare that was like cold steel or pure ice. It was hard to say if she was annoyed, furious or this was just her normal gaze. What ever the case the Sheep had a gaze like steel despite who and what she was facing down. Her wisp seeming utterly disinterested but still in attendance.

" Affirmative, that's generally the deal when we take refugee's into our care. We match each Refugee with there skill set, most of our guests help with repairs, or manual labor. "

" If you can't handle team work i could put you in the warehouse doing inventory with Tangle... i'm sure she would LOVE the company! you can sit in a dark dusty warehouse--- counting ... all day! does that sound more up your ally? "

Now she was clearly messing with Surge!

She let her eyes linger on Kit a moment as her fingers pressed against her own cheek. So that was it? she wanted to get her something she'd remember? Well that was adorable, though she could be a difficult woman to please. Still she wouldn't give her any hints at least not yet. Better that Kit devise the gift on her own, it would be much more meaningful that way.

" I grew up on the streets you know, not a soul to care for me. I worked my way up to being the greatest thief around--- If i've learned anything in my life, it is that wealth comes and goes like the wind. But a gift given from the heart means more then all the jewels on the planet. "

She smiled at Kit with a gentle warmness

" Though that doesn't mean a girl can't enjoy a Jewel or ten all the same--- I'm sure you'll figure out something i'll adore. Yer a smart girl after all... "

Her eyes moved to the Butler? Protector? Truthfully she didn't know what she'd consider him. He seemed like a good chap, just a little bit stuck on his duty and all that. He reminded her of a certain royal princess she knew if she was honest with herself. Still he meant well and that was good enough in her book. Didn't mean she wouldn't torture the hell out of him all the same! That was like her calling card--- if Amy couldn't escape it Friedrich was doomed!

" Funny... only games i played as a little girl was, swipe the wallet and snatch and grabe..."

It might have sounded like a joke but it was pretty spot on. She grew up stealing to get by, picking pockets and swiping bread or what ever she could to stay alive.

" Odd... never actually told anyone that before. Guess i never thought it mattered. Who i was isn't who i am--- Still good to know you have someone ot look out for you, and you know there is a saying on my world. Behind every great man---is a powerful woman. I guess it's true even across the multiverse "

She couldn't help but notice Kit's blush, and flashed her a smile that said more then any words. Oh she noticed, and the fact that Kit was blushing only made her smile become more devilish! She was cute wasn't she? How could she pass up this chance? Leaving over to kiss the fennec gently just to make the point all the more clear.

" Don't worry... for every Jewel i can't swipe... i'll just add it to your tab, and charge you a kiss per. I'm a professional after all, I know how to compromise in the face of difficult times "

" Also i can't promise i won't steal a kiss from Freddy... he's a tempting target--- if his wife kills me, you'll just have to take my corpse back to Mobius and let them know i died as ai lived! "

She was kidding of course it was obvious! but Rouge couldn't help herself!

" But yea, sure--- a Date could be fun. Plus I'd get to see you in something spicy..."

"I did suspect as much, though I suppose I'll have to put more thought into something to give you." Kit should've taken the time to get to know Rouge better sooner, yet that was in the past. Best to focus on the now and make all parties involved happy. The Queen also made a mental note to have a talk with Friedrich later in order to put his mind at ease, though know him, he'd most likely protest to the bat staying any longer.

"Ah, well, not only is Friedrich tasked with protecting me, he's also like family to the Darlings as well. I recall him even watching me where I was still a little fennec, going along with all the games I'd come with. I can say I put my full trust in him at all times." Kit could imagine going about her life without the gamba at her side. As far as she was considered he's family.

"Well, I may not be daring or anything, though I am an excellent storyteller. I'm sure I could come up with a good enough story that sounds believable, though also keeps the spirit of joy, wonder, and adventure in it." Kit wasn't sure if Rouge would agree with such a plan, though it a little fantasy never hurt anyone, provided it didn't obscure any dangers.

"Ah, I highly suggest you don't attempt that, not on Friedrich at least. He's a married man, and if I'm being honest, if wife is far scarier than he is." Kit had seen her angry, well, heard her angry, though it didn't sound like a fun time. The fennec could even recall a time her father was scolded from overworking the gamba, and he actually backed down and apologized. It was a shocking sight for all that day.

"Though, um, I wouldn't object to you 'swiping' a few kisses from me here and there," Kit said, having an obvious blush on her fact at that statement. It would be even easier given the fact she's already given the bat a stone to let her teleport directly in her room. "Of course, I don't expect you to stop taking jewels completely, just don't make a noticeable dent is all." The fennec was informed that it was starting to be a rather noticeable difference, and if it becomes high enough then Tween will come to check things out.

"Oh, I suppose I am," Kit said, though that was clearly a lie given how her obvious blush was even more obvious now with how deep it was. The fennec could flirt as well as the chemical argon. "I am sure Friedrich will have a security team follow us in secret, though that's standard protocol when I leave the castle. Regardless, I need to submit some research files really quick. Then I shall make arrangements at a restaurant, though I don't mind you keeping me company while I do that."

The Truth was he didn't know much about friendship. His memories were at best a jumble, and at worst a void of darkness. He knew that like Surge he had a life before but what ever it as it was long gone. Unlike Surge he wasn't having flashes of the past, and remembering who he once was. His past was gone and he simply accepted that fact and sough to embrace his new life. But friends? Serene was his first and only friend, so for him it was very much a learning experience.

" Friendship? I still barely understand the concept. It's still confusing... " He admitted as he glanced off to the side

" To let someone close, to care for them, to put them above ones own self preservation. It's illogical... and yet, i feel as if should anyone upset you in any way--- i would most defiantly end there lives. "

" Even if i'm a bad person? I don't think i understand you at all Serene. But... thank you for remaining by myside despite my past..."

"I hope to be worthy of your confidence, Kit. Having faith in your friends and believing in them has a lot of weight where I am from. I hope that can still be the case now."

Weight and power, like a sort of adrenaline kicking ones body into overdrive. Ones mental state always had an impact on one's abilities. And right now, she was absolutely feeling that high as she smiled sweetly at him, "And by all means, explore and investigate these feelings all you like. Who knows where the answers you find will lead you. I look forward to hearing about your findings."

"I'll follow you all the way if you let me. We're friends. And that means I'll be there in a heartbeat if you asked me to."

She listened attentively as Al explained both his real desire and, his ultimate plan. So he was after a new body? An Android body in fact. Her finger tapped against her chin as she remembered the Shadow Androids with vivid clarity. Oh she knew those things were real, vey real and for a time Shadow even pondered if he was the real shadow at all. In the end she was sure that Shadow was the real deal, but those androids were no joke. But they were a a closely guarded secret of Eggman's and must have required some pretty intense resources since he only employed them in extreme situations.

" Well, yes they do--- but i'm not sure Eggman is going to just hand over there schematics. If anyone knows about them though its Miles. He's not just a Genius in this world but also runs his own Corporation... and funds go directly into R&D to counter Eggman in all its forms. "

" Alternatively you could try to hack the eggnet but then you'd need a direct link... and the pass codes. I don't know Al this sounds dangerous, more then dangerous. Our Eggman isn't exactly known for pulling his punches. Are you sure this is what you want? "

His ears swiveled to focus on her as she spoke. He knew his own ears didnt function the way that an organic's would but after so long of watching others it was just natural to mimic the behavior. He focused on Amy as she spoke to him, he knew others liked him as he was but...honestly he would feel better if his exterior matched how he mentally saw himself. A soft chuckle left him as he heard her second set of words however.

"With someone like you watching my back, I doubt I'll ever be allowed to even try to forget something like that. Thanks, Aims. Really."

He appreciated her support and friendship, it meant the world to him. He hummed a bit as he searched his files for a bit, pulling up a conversation with a version of Rouge once long ago. He went over it mentally before he paced a bit.

"You know... maybe there IS a way that I can have both. Appearing organic in every way yet still being able to keep all my equipment and abilities. A while back, I encountered a version of Team Dark that told me Eggman had built a small force of androids that were copies of Shadow. And android is exactly what I'm looking for, organic on the outside to the point no one can tell but mechanical inside and capable of things no organic can do. If I can get my hands on the schematics for those Shadow androids, a certain friend of mine can adjust them and give me a new body that is everything that I want to be. Was that....ever a thing in this world?"

Sonic Crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow at the shark girl as she laughed at him. If there was something he couldn't stand it was being taken lightly. After all he was still sonic---still the fastest thing alive! Even in the water, slowed down as he was he was far from helpless!

He was rather surprised at being picked up by the Hybrid and spun around. More shocked that she was strong enough to do so without any issues---he did weigh much more then he appeared to after all. Having a solid dura-steel skeleton had that effect. Which naturally made him stronger to compensate for it but--- he sometimes forgot that Serene was what she was. She could seem so soft, sweet and gentle and yet, obviously stronger then he assumed.

Once she placed him down he just rubbed the back of his neck not sure how to respond. He'd never been picked up like that and his emotional state was one of obvious confusion.

" Huh? Oh it's fine... i was just--- worried you might hurt yourself. My skeleton is quite dense... "

He paused at her question about his emotions, making him need to stop and consider a proper response. It was alot more complicated then he let on he supposed.

" ... Not a lack of just--- Muted? it's like trying to hold water in your hand. It bleeds away into nothing in moments... i suppose removing them entirely would have made me to much of a machine. So Starline just didn't want them to rule my judgement. Thus they are fleeting... like a rain drop falling to the earth "

He hoped that made it easier to understand

" Although ... this is the first attachment i've formed outside of Surge... i am unsure if i should be concerned. I suppose this requires more investigation... perhaps i should take notes..."

" Despite that... I meant what i said... I do have confidence in you... your will has always seemed much stronger then my own. If I can fight this Dark Urge in my Mind... i think you can to... "

Hearing his words, hearing his thoughts, it did bring a smile to her face, enough to make the hybrid reach out and embrace the fennec suddenly, twirling him around in happiness before she realized what she had done and sat him back down.

"Err, sorry. You just have no idea how much it means to hear you say that."

It meant the world to her that someone had faith in her to not lose herself in her cravings. And then... She realized something as if a circuit had just been completed in her brain, and it started going into overdrive.

"Wait a second... Didn't you tell me a while ago your emotions were being suppressed or something? That almost sounded... empathetic. Like, genuine. Feelings."

Having met him some time ago now, thinking back. She could not imagine him ever saying anything remotely similar back then. Much less try to comfort anyone other than Surge. He was made for her after all. Why bother with anyone else...
