Fandom: Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Summary: Wedding planning hasn’t stopped Percy and Nico from traveling the world. Percy is handling a monster off the coast of Italy when things suddenly get out of hand. Of course, Nico always has Percy’s back. This should be easy to handle just as soon as Nico get’s Percy out of the local hospital.

Chapter Preview

Nico stays perched on Percy’s bed while Giuseppe makes himself comfortable in the guest chair. Giuseppe is watching Nico with a worried caution that Nico can’t bear. So he pays attention to Percy instead. Percy gingerly settles back into the bed while Mia makes sure to put his IV back in. Once Percy is back where he’s supposed to be and comfortable she sits as well.  “Mia.” Giuseppe warns but Nico wants her here too. They are family after all. “No, it’s okay.” Nico says softly. It feels like a quiet moment, sad but also hopeful. “She can know too.”

The only canon I accept on Percy wanting to meet Hercules is Percy wanting to meet Hercules for a little beatdown. He was just faking real good.

I think he was written fairly well in Son of Neptune and while he was in Tartarus.

Pretty much all of the other parts of HoO? Yeah he was written badly. I mean, so much was out of character:

The weird competition thing Jason and Percy had

Not going feral over protecting Nico like he did in PJO (reminder: Percy literally took on the great prophecy to protect Nico)

The boasting and showing off all his talents- he's literally the opposite in PJO

Wanting to see Hercules - was everything in TTC erased? Did Rick forget that he established that the only reason why Percy liked Hercules in SoM was because his luck was worse than Percy's?

I could go on for hours. None of that was in character for Percy.

As if thinking about Nico summoned him, suddenly there is a pile of black cloth and a harshly breathing demigod collapsed in the wrong direction on Percy's bed. Percy knows he's on a lot of pain medication, but how he responds would be the proof if there were any doubts. 

"Nico, this isn't the comfiest way for you to lay on me if you want cuddles." Percy says nonsensically.

Something I really like about Toph in atla is that she never seems to… miss her sight, or yearn to be able to see. The way she perceives the world is so… tactical and fundamental, even the most granular, easy to miss things like ants climbing a blade of grass, are present and right in her senses. I’m sure she “sees” Aang flying, and maybe some might think she has some jealousy about that, or feels imprisoned by her bending. But i dont think thats the case.

I think being surrounded by earth makes her feel as free and untethered as a bird in flight, and if anything, I think maybe Aang could be jealous of that. Aang is ultimately bound to the world in such a way that he can never be truly free, being the avatar, so maybe Aang watched Toph bend, as natural as breathing or talking, and wishes he could be as free as she is, feet firmly planted on the ground.

Arthur: How did you manage to bring me rolls that are still warm, Merlin?

Merlin: Magic, sire. (with a teasing grin)

Arthur: Haha, very funny, Merlin

Gwen: How did the poultice you gave me heal my father?

Merlin: Magic.

Gwen: You can tell me me the truth, Merlin. I know you're not foolish enough to use magic in Camelot.

Merlin: I really, really am.

Gwain: How do you keep not dying when we run into bandits?

Merlin: I use my magic to protect myself.

Gwaine: Lol, nice one, Merlin.

Leon: Hey Merlin, why are you reading from a book that looks like a book of sorcery?

Merlin: Oh, because I have magic and am studying spells so I can use it better.

Leon, laughing: If you say so, Merlin.

Percival, laughing: Alright, fine. Keep your secrets, 'oh mystical sorcerer'.

Elyan: And where do you keep disappearing to, Merlin?

Merlin: Oh, just saving Arthur from whatever assasin or magical threat crops up this week!

Elyan, playing along: Oh really? And which was it when you missed going to the tavern with us?

Merlin, completely serious: Morgause sent a swarm of enchanted birds to try and rip out Arthur's heart.

Elyan: You have a strange sense of humour, Merlin.

Uther: And how, precisely, did you survive the encounter you've just described?

Merlin: I used magic.

Uther:...I have no idea why my son seems to like you so much. You're an idiot.

Arthur: Hey, he's my idiot. And my idiot is just the kind of person to joke about having magic to the king of Camelot.

Merlin: Why do you assume I'm joking?

Lancelot, the only person besides Gaiuss that actually knows about Merlin's magic: How on earth do you keep that a secret?

Merlin: I don't. I use magic in front of literally everyone, and no one believes me.

Lancelot: You're joking.

Merlin: I literally use magic to fill Arthur's tub in front of him every day, and he assumes I'm joking about having it.

Gaius, very distressed: Merlin, you really should be more careful with your magic.

Merlin, calls Arthur over: watch this trick!

Merlin, summons a glowing, clearly magic butterfly in front of Arthur: Isn't magic neat?

Arthur, patting Merlin on the shoulder: Like you could ever learn magic, Merlin. Make sure you polish my armor again, will you?

Merlin: Why, do you intend to use it as a mirror?

Arthur: *flips Merlin off and walks away*

Merlin: See Gaius? Perfectly safe.

Gaius:...
