Transcript under the cut!
Author’s note: From here on, Subject 1 will be referred to as “1-S” and Subject 2 will be referred to as “2-P”. Gaster refers to each with both names, but for the sake of simplicity, I will refer to them as 1-S and 2-P.
Panel 1: [Gaster and 1-S are sitting at a table. 1-S is working on a stack of worksheets while Gaster reviews multiple charts, graphs, and notes while drinking from a mug that reads “World’s Best Dad Scientist. Gaster has 1-S’s SOUL locked in blue magic once again. Gaster seems generally disinterested, with one leg crossed over the other and his other arm resting on the table. 1-S looks at him accusatorily.]
1-S: why did you do that to him? he never did anything to you. he didn't deserve that.
Gaster: And you did? Does only his suffering matter to you? Interesting.
1-S: why did you make us? why are you doing this to us?
Panel 2: [1-S makes a doubtful and confused face.]
1-S: ...is someone /making/ you do this? is that it?
Panel 3: [Gaster simply observes as 1-S makes his musings.]
1-S: do you not have a choice?
Panel 4: [Gaster suddenly jumps in surprise as his phone starts buzzing from his pocket. In his surprise, he seems to have released the blue magic keeping 1-S at the table.]
Panel 5: [Gaster sets his cup of coffee on the table while he pulls a blue flip-phone from his pocket. 1-S stares in confusion. It’s likely he’s never seen a phone before.]
Gaster: ...I thought I turned this off-
Panel 6: [We get to see Gaster’s phone screen. It reads: INCOMING CALL: ALPHYS. Below is a small line: loading wdalphys.exe…]
Panel 7: [The phone loads the WDAlphys program. The screen says: W D ALPHYS! VER 0.34 waiwai!! On either side of the graphic is a pixel art of Gaster on the left and Alphys on the right. They’re smiling with their arms held up, and a heart floats above their heads. Below the pictures says: Scanning for magical signature… Please touch your phone now, Dr. Gaster! =^.^=]
Panel 8-9: [Gaster stands up and presses a few buttons on his phone, which makes a few digital beeps and dits. He conjures three magical hands, one to hold the phone, and two more to sign for the phone. The program reads the magic signature of his hands while he uses sign language to translate it over on Alphys’ side of the line. This way, he can communicate using a telephone. Meanwhile, 1-S’s mind is blown.]
Gaster (signing): Yes, Dr. Alphys, what is it?
Panel 10: [Gaster turns his back to 1-S, still looking very confused, and continues his conversation with his colleague.]
Gaster: ...Yes, I'm fine. Is something wrong?
Gaster: ...Late? Late for what?
Panel 11: [1-S stares for a bit, watching.]
Gaster: Yes, but that's tomorrow, isn't it?
Panel 12: [1-S carefully eyes the doorway…]
Gaster: ...is it really...? Are you sure?
Panel 13: [1-S slowly stands up. Gaster is still looking away from him, pressing his hand to his head in frustration as he keeps talking to Alphys over the phone.]
Gaster: ...I... I must have lost track of time...
Gaster: ...I know, it's not like me, but I... I haven't gotten much sleep lately.
Panel 14: [1-S runs down the hallway and away from Gaster. Gaster doesn’t notice.]
Gaster:  No, I'm alright, don't worry. I'm fine. I've just... had a lot on my mind…
Panel 15: [We see 2-P by himself in the cell. He seems to have been crying, either from pain from the handplate, or separation anxiety from 1-S, or perhaps both.]
1-S: bro! bro!
Panel 16: [2-P jumps to his feet excitedly, looking at 1-S on the outside of the forcefield.]
2-P: BROTHER!! HOW DID YOU GET OUTSIDE?
[1-S is excitedly gesticulating back towards the other room.]
1-S: i snuck away while he wasn't looking- i'm gonna get you out, okay? then we're gonna get out of here!
2-P: OH, YAY! BUT... HOW?
Panel 17: [1-S touches a hand to his chin, trying to come up with a plan.]
1-S: um... i'm still working on that part. maybe-
1-S: uh... he does something to the wall when he opens it, doesn't he?
Panel 18: [2-P gestures to the electric panel on the wall to the right of the forcefield.]
2-P: YEAH, HE TOUCHES THAT THING OVER THERE, I THINK. MAYBE PUT YOUR HAND ON IT!
Panel 19: [2-P watches excitedly as 1-S puts his right hand on the wall and reaches up to touch the panel with his left hand. But, only one of the three lights come on, and the forcefield does not deactivate.]
1-S: ok... mmph! ...it's not working, only one of the lights went on!
2-P: TRY USING TWO HANDS!
Panel 20: [1-S looks confused at the suggestion, pulling his hand away from the panel briefly.]
1-S: he only uses one though.
2-P: WELL HIS HANDS ARE BIG! YOU HAVE LITTLE BABY HANDS.
Panel 21: [2-P holds both of his hands up placatingly. 1-S looks offended at the insinuation of him having baby hands.]
1-S: i do not have baby hands!
Panel 22: [2-P smirks a little, wiggling his fingers mockingly.]
2-P: YOU HAVE THE MOST ITTY-BITTY HANDS, BROTHER, LIKE TINY LITTLE-
Panel 23: [2-P becomes shocked, looking past 1-S. His eyes glow purple a bit, indicating a sudden bolt of fear.]
2-P: AAAAHH!!
Panel 24: [1-S’s SOUL has been turned blue and he’s magically pulled away from the doorway into the air. His eyes light up into sudden rings of purple. 2-P watches in horror.]
1-S: hgh- no!!!
Gaster: Apparently I'm going to have to keep a closer eye on you. You're slipperier than I thought.
Panel 25: [Gaster appears in the hallway and levitates 1-S a few feet off the ground. 1-S reaches desperately for his brother but to no avail.
1-S: no- no i was so close-!
Panel 26: [2-P looks up fearfully, clutching his right hand. Gaster looks down at him. 1-S is still being levitated and is kicking while clutching his chest, as if struggling will loosen Gaster’s magical hold on him. His face is screwed up in concentration.]
2-P: ARE... ARE WE IN TROUBLE...?
Panel 27: [1-S angrily looks at Gaster, still struggling in mid-air.]
Gaster: Yes. Under other circumstances, it'd be sufficient to punish only you, Subject 1, but your frailty makes it difficult. So…
Panel 28: [2-P looks up at Gaster fearfully.]
Gaster: You BOTH will be coming with me.
Panel 29: [Gaster places his hand on the panel. All three lights easily light up and deactivate the forcefield. 1-S desperately reaches towards Gaster, trying to stop him.]
1-S: don't- don't hurt him!!
1-S: he didn't even do anything- he didn't DO ANYTHING!!
Panel 30: [Gaster turns towards 1-S and looks him in the eye.]
Gaster: Think about that the next time you try to run from me.
Panel 31: [Gaster escorts 2-P out of the cell and leads him down the hallway, still carrying 1-S by magic. 2-P’s head is hung low but he complies. 1-S has curled into the fetal position, defeated.] Gaster: Come on.

[Previously] [Next, kind of]
Horseshoes and hand grenades, Sans. This one falls sometime after the plate aftermath, though it’s not a direct continuation, exactly.
The WD Alphys app is something that Alphys and Gaster have been working on together to let them communicate via phone, since Alphys can’t speak Wingdings (I’m starting to think that only font skeletons can speak wingdings, actually). Once it keys into Gaster’s magical signature, it follows the movements of the magic hands he creates and transmits it to her phone, along with an attempt at a translation. It’s still in beta and hasn’t been released yet, but they’re hoping once they iron out the bugs and refine it that it can come in handy for other monsters who use sign language. I figure if Alphys can turn phones into functioning jetpacks then something like this wouldn’t be impossible, haha. He talks while he signs because he likes the sound of his own voice, the egomaniac. The little sprites were Alphys’s idea.
Gaster is tired and stressed out, thus why he’s not paying a lot of attention. Also why his coat’s unbuttoned and he left his phone on and why he’s trying to do work while Sans is doing an IQ test (IQ days are kind of “free” days for the three of them to recover from previous experiments).

Panel 1: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: IT IS DONE. THEY ASKED ME, BEGGED ME, SCREAMED AT ME TO STOP. WHEN I DID NOT, THEY CALLED OUT FOR THEIR “BROTHER” TO SAVE THEM. WHEN THEY DID NOT, THEY CALLED OUT FOR SOMEONE, ANYONE, TO HELP THEM. BUT NOBODY CAME.
Panel 2: [Gaster is sitting on the ground, in his dark grey sweater but sans the labcoat. His knees are up, with his right arm resting on his right knee, and with his left hand he is smoking a cigarette. His hand and shoulders are trembling slightly. There is a piece of paper laying next to him, and discarded used cigarettes are littered around his feet. He’s been smoking for a while.]
Gaster’s Notes: A LESSON WE MUST ALL LEARN AT SOME POINT…
Gaster’s Notes: IT IS DONE, AND I MUST ADMIT, A PART OF ME IS CURIOUS NOW WHAT THEY WILL DO. THEIR LIMITED WORLDVIEW MUST BE COMPLETELY SHATTERED. WHAT WILL THEY BUILD OUT OF THE PIECES?
Panel 3: [It’s the children’s drawing from earlier, the one Subject 2 drew on a worksheet. There is a hole burned right above Gaster’s head, and is overlapping his drawn face a bit.]
Gaster’s Notes: CAN THEY EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO THEM? HOW WILL THEY ADAPT TO THIS NEW PARADIGM? WHAT WILL CHANGE?
Panel 4: [Blank panel]
Subject 2: NNGH-! MY HAND HURTS, I CAN’T GET IT OFF- I HATE IT! I HATE IT, WHY DID HE DO THIS TO US???
Subject 1: i knew it, i knew it, i knew we shouldn’t- i knew we couldn’t trust him-
Subject 2: WHAT DID WE DO WRONG??? I DON’T UNDERSTAND, WE… WE WERE GOOD, WEREN’T WE?
Panel 5: [Subject 2 is sitting on a cot in the background, holding his injured hand in front of him. He’s clearly been crying for a while. Subject 1 is angrily pacing around the room, his skull also stained with tears.]
Subject 1: it wasn’t us, WE didn’t do anything wrong. it was HIM, he wanted to- to do this to us-
Panel 6: [Subject 2 is leaning against the wall, cradling the hand with the handplate and staring in disbelief]
Subject 2: MAYBE… MAYBE HE WAS WORRIED WE’D GET LOST, OR, OR, THEY’RE MAGIC AND WILL PROTECT US FROM SOMETHING OR-
Panel 7: [Subject 1 turns around and throws his hands up angrily.]
Subject 1: are you serious?! how can you even say that?! how long were you screaming while he drilled that into you?!
[Subject 2 grips his hand and yells back.]
Subject 2: MAYBE HE HAD TO DO IT THAT WAY!!
Panel 8: [Subject 1 turns away, his eyesockets dark.]
Subject 1: yeah, but not for the reason you think. we’re just things to him… he’s always said that.
[Subject 2 looks somewhat defeated.]
Panel 9: [Subject 1 throws his hands up again in emphasis.]
Subject 1: he doesn’t care about us- he’s never cared about us. he can do whatever he wants to us, and who’s going to stop him? no one even knows we’re down here, and it’s not like we can get out-
Panel 10: [Subject 1 comes to a shocking realisation. His eye lights shrink down and he presses his right hand to his skull, his other hand suspended in front of his chest.]
Subject 1: …god, oh my god… what is he going to do to us?
Panel 10: [Subject 2 brings his trembling hands up to his face. His eyes are wide in horror, and he’s still crying.]
Subject 1: this is just the beginning, isn’t it? this isn’t going to stop, it’s just- it’s just going to get worse-
Panel 11: [Subject 1 keeps talking until Subject 2 interrupts him, balling his hands into fists and starts yelling adamantly.]
Subject 1: oh god-
Subject 2: NO… NO, NO, HE WON’T! HE WON’T, HE’S NOT LIKE THAT! HE’S NOT- HE’S NOT GOING TO-
Panel 12: [Subject 1 throws his arms apart in frustration.]
Subject 1: look at your hand, for god’s sake!! don’t you get what’s going on here?! don’t you get what we ARE to him??
[Subject 2 yells defensively.]
Subject 2: THAT’S NOT- THAT’S NOT WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN- HE’S NOT GOING TO HURT US ANYMORE!
Panel 13: [Subject 1 gesticulates wildly in the general direction of the doorway. Subject 2 is clutching his skull tightly and his eyes are screwed shut.]
Subject 1: are you JOKING?? what do you think just happened!!! what on earth do you think is going to make him STOP??
Subject 2: HE’S NOT- HE’S NOT GOING TO HURT US ANYMORE, I KNOW IT! I KNOW IT, HE HELPED ME ONCE, HE’S NOT A BAD PERSON, HE’S-
Panel 14: [Subject 1 points angrily to his handplate, his eyesockets again going dark.]
Subject 1: not a bad person except for these. open your eyes!! can’t you tell, he’s not going to stop, why would he? what has he ever done for us except-
Panel 15: [Subject 2 doesn’t even seem to be listening anymore, he’s crying again and clutching his skull]
Subject 2: HE’S NOT GOING TO- HE’S NOT- HE’S NOT- HE’S-
Panel 16: [Subject 2 gasps suddenly and clutches his chest as if he’s having a heart attack. His eyes open wide as he begins having a panic attack. 1 looks very caught off-guard.]
Subject 2: ggHHHHHHHHHHHH
Panel 17: [Subject 1 rushes to 2’s side and grabs his right hand. He looks apologetic. Subject 2 is still clutching his chest and starts hyperventilating, and his eyes light up their default warm orange color as his eyes pour more tears.]
Subject 1: woah, woah, woah, hey, are you okay? jeez- calm down, calm down, hey, can you hear me?
Panel 18: [Subject 1 pulls 2 into his chest, and Subject 2 leans into him, desperately clutching his arms. Subject 1 gets onto the cot with 2, and begins glowing his eyes blue to help calm him. Subject 1 strokes Subject 2’s skull. Subject 2 is still hyperventilating.]
Subject 1: hey, shhh, shh. calm down, come on. deep breaths, okay? i’m scared too, alright? but we’re okay, we’re both okay. i’ll figure something out, don’t worry. calm down.
Panel 19: [Subject 2 is still panicking but has managed to calm down, just a bit. Subject 1 envelops him in his arms, their eyes closing and still glowing.]
Subject 2: IT CAN’T, HE CAN’T… THERE HAS TO BE GOOD IN HIM. THERE HAS TO BE, THERE JUST HAS TO BE…
Subject 1: shhh, shhhhh, breathe, okay? just try to breathe.
Subject 2: HE HAS TO STOP, HE HAS TO STOP, HE HAS TO, HE… HE…
Panel 20: [Blank panel]
Subject 2: IT… IT WON’T GET ANY WORSE THAN THIS…
Subject 2: RIGHT…?

Spoilers: it does.
This would probably be the first time the two of them have seriously fought about something or raised their voices at each other. They’re both scared and in pain and aren’t really handling this well. No one is happy with this.
If you really want to feel bad, a lot of their conversation still works if they were talking about you the Player, haha.

Transcription below cut:
Panel 1: [A black panel, with a few scattered golden petals]
Asgore: Gaster! Are you alright???
Panel 2: [A large pair of furry white hands are picking Gaster up from a small field of golden flowers. Gaster seems a bit dazed.]
Asgore: You passed out…
Panel 3: [Agore, a large white goat monster with large, slightly curved horns, and long golden hair and beard, is wearing his usual garb of golden pauldrons and a purple cape, with his crown. He picks up Gaster by the shoulders and inspects him like an injured child.Gaster has a few scattered petals on him. They are in the throne room, its high walls a warm goldenrod color, standing among a field of golden flowers. Gaster is signing with his magic hands.]
Gaster (signing): Unh… I’m alright… I must have gotten dizzy…
Panel 4: [Asgore brushes some golden petals off Gaster’s lab coat. Asgore looks quite concerned about Gaster’s wellbeing. Gaster rubs his temple and gently pushes against Asgore.]
Asgore: Gaster, I’m really starting to worry about you. You’re working too hard, it’s taking a toll on your health. Whatever it is can’t be that important…
Panel 5: [Asgore sets Gaster down, an empathetic look on his face as Gaster adjusts his glasses and avoids eye contact.]
Gaster (signing): I’m very close to a breakthrough, I’m sure of it… I’m going to get us all out of here, you’ll see… I’m alright, I just need more time…
Panel 6: [Asgore has taken Gaster’s hand, pointing out the massive holes from Gaster’s “accident”. His other hand cradles Gaster’s shoulder. Asgore looks nearly heartbroken over how little Gaster takes care of himself. Gaster is caught off-guard by the King’s touches.]
Asgore: Look at your poor hands…
Panel 7: [A close-up of Gaster’s hole-punched hand within Asgore’s massive furry palm.]
Asgore: They look worse every time I see them.
Panel 8: [Gaster pulls away and clutches his hands close to his chest defensively. Asgore looks slightly hurt.]
Asgore: Are they giving you trouble? I know you said it was an accident, but…
Gaster (signing): Please, I’ve asked that we not talk about this.
Panel 9: [Gaster clutches his hands to his chest and has moved away from Asgore]
Asgore: I’m not sure I believe you.
Panel 10: [Asgore looks intently at his longest friend. Gaster is still avoiding eye contact.]
Asgore: I understand that you want to get us out of here, but it’s not worth tearing yourself to pieces. This isn’t your burden to bear.
Panel 11: [Asgore looks away depressedly.]
Asgore: When the time comes and the last soul falls,
Panel 12: [Asgore looks away dramatically, his hair shadowing over his eyes.]
Asgore: I will break the barrier and do what has to be done.
Panel 13: [Gaster doesn’t seem too happy, his shoulders are slumped.]
Asgore: That is my duty as king.
Panel 14: [Asgore takes Gaster’s face by the chin into his massive left hand. Gaster doesn’t pull away and looks up at Asgore.]
Asgore: But my duty is also to my people, and my friends, and you wellbeing is more important to me than anything you’re working on.
Panel 15: [Asgore looks stern and desperate.]
Asgore: I don’t want you hurting yourself, not for any reason. I can’t lose you too.
Panel 16: [Asgore approaches Gaster again, giving him physical reassurance through back rubs]
Asgore: Stop pushing yourself so hard. It’s not your responsibility.
Panel 17: [Asgore gently holds Gaster by the shoulders, as if in a desperate plea.]
Asgore: Take care of yourself, and I will take care of the barrier.
Panel 18: [Gaster looks nervously to the ground on his right.]
Panel 19: [Asgore attempts to lighten the mood, moving his hand to Gaster’s back and his other hand in front of him emphatically.]
Asgore: Come on… some tea will help you relax. You can go back to work after you unwind a little, alright?
Panel 20: [Gaster bows his head. Asgore looks pleased.]
Gaster (signing): If you insist.
Panel 21: [Asgore begins walking out of the room with Gaster. Gaster looks up at him admirably.]
Gaster (Internal Monologue): You’ve always been too gentle, and too kind.
Panel 22: [Asgore and Gaster continue towards the door, Gaster now looking down and lost in thought.]
Gaster (IM): You don’t have the same darkness inside that I have.
Panel 23: [Asgore and Gaster have almost left the room.]
Gaster (IM): If anyone should make such sacrifices, it will be me. I will get us out of here, no matter what the cost.
Panel 24: [The throne room with golden walls and golden flowers is now empty.]
Gaster (IM): And you will never have to kill anyone again. I’ll make sure of it.

[Happening concurrently] [Next, technically]
Gaster has multiple reasons for taking on his whole terrible secret project, and here’s one of them! Gaster this is the exact opposite of what Asgore would have wanted. (Cool motive, still murder)
Gaster is very emotionally invested in Asgore (and Toriel as well, although he currently thinks she’s dead) and completely unobjective when it comes to either of them. A bit similar to how the brothers just refuse to hear insults, haha.
Could this conversation have played a part in Gaster deciding not to choose Mercy? Hmm!

Transcript below cut:
Panel 1: [It’s blank, except for a flat oval on the ground. It has three rings, all shades of beige, with the darkest on the outside. Metaphorically, this is inside Gaster’s head.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’VE WAITED TOO LONG. THE PROJECT IS IN DANGER.
Gaster’s Notes: MY OBJECTIVITY HAS-
Gaster’s Notes: IS AT RISK OF BEING COMPROMISED.
Panel 2: [Gaster appears above the oval]
Gaster’s Notes: I CANNOT AFFORD ANY FURTHER DELAY.
Panel 3: [Subjects 1 and 2 are play-wrestling, with 2 holding 1 in a headlock and giving him a noogie. Subject 1 tries to squirm from his grasp, pushing against 2’s skull.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE STILL CHILDLIKE, BUT NO MORE TIME CAN BE WASTER. EVEN THIS, IN THE END, WAS A FOOLISH DIVERSION.
Gaster’s Notes: IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THEY CAN UNDERSTAND. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE, OR IF THEY CAN THINK, OR WHAT THEY FEEL. THIS IS NOT WHAT I MADE THEM FOR.
Panel 4: [blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: I NEED TO REGAIN MY FOCUS. I NEED TO REGAIN CONTROL. I NEED TO REMEMBER WHY I’M DOING THIS.
Panel 5: [Gaster is back in the lab, kneeling in front of Subject 2, and is measuring the back of his hand with a measuring tape. Gaster’s body language is stiff and cold.]
Subject 2: WHY DON’T MY HANDS LOOK LIKE YOURS?
Gaster: You and Subject 1 don’t look alike, do you?
Panel 6: [Subject 2 stares straight ahead. The tape measure reads about four inches across the back of his hand.]
Subject 2: I GUESS NOT…
Panel 7: [Gaster stands in front of two panels with WingDings, one on each of his sides. The one on the left has a sword symbol and translated, reads “FIGHT”. The one on his right has an “X” symbol and reads “MERCY.”
Gaster’s Notes: I KNEW WHEN I BEGAN WHAT THIS WOULD ENTAIL. I KNEW WHAT I’D HAVE TO DO.
Panel 8: [Gaster regards his two options very carefully.]
Gaster’s Notes: I KNEW THERE’D BE NO GOING BACK. NO FORGIVENESS.
Gaster’s Notes: DECISIONS WERE MADE ALL FOR THIS GREATER PURPOSE, TO CREATE THESE LIVING TOOLS.
Gaster’s Notes: TO EVEN CONSIDER…
Panel 9: [Gaster’s hand looms over the “MERCY” button, and faded in the background is an image of three skeletons. Gaster is walking away, wearing just his dark sweater and pants without the labcoat. In his right arm he holds Subject 1, who is leaning against his chest and wearing a faded blue sweatshirt. His left hand holds Subject 2’s, who is wearing a red sweater. It is only a pipe dream, never to exist.]
Panel 10: [Gaster’s hand draws away from the MERCY button. In the background is an image of the surface, of a battlefield, though the battle is done. The land is full of dust and used bone attacks, with Gaster kneeling over a pile of dust.]
Gaster’s Notes: SUCH SELFISH SENTIMENTALITY GETS PEOPLE KILLED. THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE.
Panel 11: [The panel is simply the two options of FIGHT or MERCY.]
Gaster’s Notes: THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE.
Panel 12: [Zooms in on the FIGHT and MERCY options.]
Panel 13: [Gaster looks down at his hands.]
Gaster’s Notes: I TOLD MYSELF I’D MAKE WHATEVER SACRIFICES NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS.
Panel 14: [We look at Gaster’s hands, the holes in them seeming like gaping voids.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’M NOT GOING BACK ON MY WORD.
Panel 15: [Gaster’s hand reaches for the FIGHT button.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO THIS. WHO WILL DO THIS.
Panel 16: [Gaster seems to hesitate for a moment, his hand lowering somewhat.]
Gaster’s Notes: THERE ARE NOT OTHER OPTIONS. I’M GOING TO GET US ALL OUT OF HERE.
Panel 17: [Back in the lab again, Gaster shows Subject 2 to a table with leather straps. Subject 2 looks trusting but apprehensive.]
Panel 18: [Moments later, Gaster is strapping Subject 2 down to the table. Subject 2’s SOUL is blue, indicating that Gaster is pinning him down with blue magic. Subject 2 looks afraid and is on the verge of tears.]
Panel 19: [back in Gaster’s mind, he presses his hand to the FIGHT option, highlighting it yellow.]
Gaster’s Notes: NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES.
Panel 20: [Back in the lab, Gaster picks up the drill. On the table below is a metal plate that reads “WDG-2 P” and four screws.]
Panel 21: [Blank Panel]
Gaster’s Notes: THE GREATEST TEST OF MY STRENGTH. I AM DETERMINED.
Panel 22: [Back in the lab, Gaster is lining up the metal plate to Subject 2’s right hand. His own hand is highlighted in the blue magic still pinning Subject 2 in place.]
Gaster: Can you move?
Panel 23: [Subject 2 is very scared. The strap is tightened around his neck vertebrae, and his chest is glowing blue.]
Subject 2: N… NO. IT… IT’S HARD TO BREATHE…
Panel 24: [Gaster looks at Subject 2, body language completely blank.]
Subject 2: I… I’M SCARED.
Panel 25: [Gaster seems to falter for a moment.]
Panel 26: [Gaster’s resolve strengthens.]
Panel 27: [Gaster looks at Subject 2 again.]
Gaster: …Good.
Panel 28: [Gaster holds up the drill in front of Subject 2 and turns it on. It comes to life with a menacing VVVVVRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Subject 2 looks on the verge of panicking, or crying, or both, but he can’t even move because Gaster has his whole body within the grasp of blue magic.]
Gaster: You should be scared of me.
Panel 29: [blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: I WILL NOT FAIL.

Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: STEADY PROGRESS AT A RAPID RATE. THEY CAN SPEAK IN SENTENCES NOW.
Panel 2: [Subjects 1 and 2 are sitting next to each other, enjoying the company]
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 1 IS QUIET AND SOFTSPOKEN… A LOWERCASER, I’M SURE, WITHOUT MUCH ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND TAKEN TO MUMBLING.
Gaster’s Notes: 2, HOWEVER, IS MORE CONFIDENT AND CLEAR– UPPERCASE, LIKE MYSELF. A VOICE THAT DEMANDS ATTENTION.
Panel 3: [Gaster’s written notes, in Wing Dings. Translated, they say: 1- LOWERCASE COMIC SANS and 2- UPPERCASE PAPYRUS]
Gaster’s Notes: IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THEIR FONTS ARE. I DID NOT NOTICE, AND IT DOES NOT MATTER.
Gaster’s Notes: THEY CRY AND CARRY ON WHENEVER I HAVE TO SEPARATE THEM, BUT I CANNOT RISK LEAVING THEM ALONE UNSUPERVISED UNTIL SUBJECT 2 CAN UNDERSTAND 1’S CONDITION.
Panel 4: [Subject 2 looks curious and hesitant.]
Subject 2: WHAT’S THAT MEAN?
Gaster: It means that if you hurt Subject 1 even by accident, he will die.
Subject 2: WHAT’S “DIE”?
Panel 5: [Gaster speaks]
Gaster: It means he will turn to dust, and you will never see him again.
[As Gaster tells Subject 2 what it means, Subject 2 tears up and begins shaking in anxiety.]
Gaster: Stop crying, I’m talking to you.
Gaster’s Notes: SINCE THEN, 2 HAS BEEN VERY CAREFUL.
Panel 6: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: SINCE I MOVED THEM INTO THE SAME ROOM, THEY ARE MUCH QUIETER AND EASIER TO WORK WITH. THEY CHATTER CONSTANTLY.
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: WHENEVER I GO SEE THEM, THEY ARE HOLDING OR TOUCHING EACH OTHER. THEY ARE DESPERATE FOR PHYSICAL CONTACT… AT LEAST THEY WON’T ASK IT FROM ME.
Panel 7: [Two sleepy skellies. They’ve fallen asleep sitting up and holding each other]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY EVEN SLEEP LIKE THAT. IT DOESN’T SEEM LIKE IT’D BE COMFORTABLE.
Panel 8: [We zoom in on their chests, where you can see their SOULs through their thin hospital gowns. Subject 1’s is about half the size of Subject 2’s.]
Gaster’s Notes: SOMETIMES THEIR SOULS GLOW IN UNISON… I BELIEVE IT IS WHEN THEY ARE DREAMING.
Panel 9: [blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: THEY ARE VORACIOUS EATERS. GIVEN THEIR RAPID DEVELOPMENT, IT MAKES SENSE.
Panel 10: [Subjects 1 and 2 are splitting a ?????. They look slightly confused but are clearly eager to share.]
Gaster’s Notes: OUT OF CURIOSITY, I GAVE THEM HALF A PORTION ONE NIGHT TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD DO. THEY SPLIT THE DIFFERENCE. I SUSPECT GIVEN ONLY A CRUMB, THEY’D FIND A WAY TO SHARE IT. I DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY LEARNED TO BE SO SELFLESS WITH EACH OTHER. IT’S NOT A TRAIT I’D THINK WOULD BE INBORN.
Panel 11: [blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: I GAVE THEM ONE PILLOW TO SEE WHO’D ASSERT DOMINANCE AND CLAIM IT FOR THEIR OWN.
Panel 12: [Subjects 1 and 2 are covered in pillow stuffing.]
Gaster’s Notes: WHEN I CHECKED ON THEM, THEY’D TORN IT UP AND WERE PLAYING WITH THE STUFFING.
Panel 13: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: THEYNEVER STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS. AT LEAST THEIR VOCABULARY IS GROWING.
Panel 14: [The panel is nothing but their questions. For simplicity’s sake, I have condensed their questions into one line each.]
Subject 1: what is… disappointing? alternating current? marrow? laser?
Subject 2: WHAT IS… SPECIMEN? ELECTRICITY? CALCIUM? FORBIDDEN?
Panel 15: [Gaster is working with the drill, while the subjects are embracing each other behind him.]
Gaster’s Notes: I DID MAKE AN ANNOYING ERROR ONCE WHILE I WAS DISTRACTED.
Panel 16: [The subjects continue embracing; Subject 1 is in Subject 2’s lap.]
Subject 2: WHAT IS HE? WHAT ARE WE? IS HE…ME? AM i HIM?
Gaster: No, you are not the same person.
Subject 2: THEN WHAT ARE WE?
Panel 17: [Gaster is barely paying attention to the conversation, he’s still working with his tools]
Gaster: You are things. Though I suppose technically one could say you were brothers-
Panel 18: [Subjects 1 and 2 are looking at each other through a new lens]
Subject 1: brothers? he’s my brother?
Subject 2: ARE YOU OUR BROTHER TOO?
Gaster: I made you both.
Subject 2: BUT… WHAT ARE YOU? ARE YOU US? WHAT ARE YOU TO US?
Gaster: Quiet.
Panel 19: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY UNFORTUNATELY LATCHED ONTO THE WORD. BROTHER THIS, BROTHER THAT. PERHAPS THEY’LL GROW OUT OF IT. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE CAREFUL WITH MY WORDING. THINGS CANNOT BE BROTHERS.
Panel 20: [Subjects 1 and 2 are sitting at a table with a few papers in front of them. They appear to be simple worksheets. Subject 1 encourages 2, who appears to be struggling.]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: THEY ARE STARTING TO READ.
Gaster’s Notes: I’M BEING CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I GIVE THEM… I DON’T WANT THEM GETTING IDEAS ABOUT THE OUTSIDE WORLD.
SUBJECT 1 IS A FAST LEARNER… 2 LESS SO. HE STRUGGLES WITH READING, AND MY HOPE IS THAT HE INHERITED MY IT’S A PHYSICAL PROBLEM WITH HIS EYES AND NOT A MENTAL ONE. BAD EYES CAN BE FIXED. EVEN WITH 1’S HELP HE HAS DIFFICULTY.
Panel 21: [Subject 2 is proudly handing Gaster a sheet of paper.]
Gaster’s Notes: HE INTERPRETS EVEN THE CLEAREST DIRECTIONS IN STRANGE WAYS.
Panel 22: [It’s a worksheet written in WingDings. The question, translated, reads “A SKELETON HAS MANY BONES. WRITE THE NAME OF AT LEAST FIVE BONES.” Underneath child’s stick drawing. Gaster is in the center with Subject 1 on his left and subject 2 on his right. They’re all smiling and happy.]
Gaster’s Notes: HE SEEMS INTENT ON SABOTAGING HIMSELF AT EVERY TURN.
Panel 23: [Gaster seems to be leading Subject 1 to a different room. Subject 1 has a bit of a smug look on his face.]
Gaster’s Notes: 1, AT LEAST, SEEMS VERY CLEVER.
Subject 1: why don’t we ever see anyone else down here? are we a secret or somethin?
Gaster’s Notes: PERHAPS TOO MUCH SO FOR HIS OWN GOOD AT TIMES.
Panel 24: [Subjects 1 and 2 are smiling in delight at Gaster]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: THEY SMILE WHEN I COME TO SEE THEM… THEY ASK ME WHAT I DO OUTSIDE. THEY ASK ME IF THEY CAN GO OUTSIDE.
Panel 25-26: [Subject 2 attempts to hold Gaster’s hand.]
Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX:
Panel 27: [Gaster pulls his hand away harshly.]
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 2 TRIED TO HOLD MY HAND.
Panel 28: [blank panel] Gaster’s Notes: ENTRY NUMBER XXX: I’VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE.

Ominous.
The uppercase/lowercase/font mention in the beginning is related to an idea me and Seagoon were batting around about skeletons having a sort of magical synesthesia that lets them “see” the font people speak in. “Without much attention to detail” means Sans drops letters and sometimes punctuation. Gaster does indeed speak in caps if entry seventeen in the game is any indication! I subtitle his speech in propercase though to make it a midpoint between the brothers, but the wingdings behind it are always in caps.
Gaster hasn’t seriously hurt either of them yet at this point. They have no idea what’s coming.
I couldn’t really think of a way to subtitle wingdings when they’re written on paper without it looking confusing, so the two bits read: “1 - LOWERCASE COMIC SANS 2 - UPPERCASE PAPYRUS” and “A SKELETON HAS MANY BONES. WRITE THE NAME OF AT LEAST FIVE BONES.”

Transcript below the cut
Panel 1: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: THIS IS IT.
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 1 AND 2 ARE GOING TO MEET.
Panel 2:  [Gaster leads Subject Subject 2 into a room. Subject 2 looks tentative, and his SOUL is blue from Gaster’s magic grip.
Panel 3: [As soon as Subject 2 sees inside the room, he immediately hides behind Gaster, gripping Gaster’s lab coat. Gaster flinches at the contact.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’M KEEPING A TIGHT HOLD ON BOTH THEIR SOULS.
Panel 4: [Gaster uses magic to move Subject 2 away from him. Subject 2 looks up at Gaster almost apologetically.]
Gaster: Don’t touch me.
Subject 2: DUN TASH ME.
Gaster’s Notes: SO IF THEY FALL TO FIGHTING IT SHOULD BE A MATTER OF MOMENTS TO SEPARATE THEM BEFORE EITHER IS HURT. IT’S BEST TO BE PREPARED.
Panel 5: [It is a seemingly normal office space. There is a bookshelf, a table, and a desk. Shuffling can be heard coming from behind the desk.]
Panel 6: [Suddenly, Subject 1 peers from behind the desk, regarding Gaster and Subject 2]
Gaster’s Notes: I’M NOT ENTIRELY SURE WHAT TO EXPECT…
Panel 7: [Subject 2 walks into the room on his own, while Gaster stays behind at the doorway. His physical hands are held apart, keeping his blue magic grip on both Subject 1 and Subject 2, while he has a pair of magical hands writing down notes on the interaction.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY’VE SEEN EACH OTHER… THEY SEEM AT A LOSS FOR WHAT TO DO.
Panel 8: [Subject 1’s brows furrow a bit]
Panel 9: [Subject 1 retreats behind the desk again, only his eyes and up still visible.]
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 1 SEEMS WARY.
Panel 10: [Subject 2 gazes forward]
Panel 11: [Subject 2’s eyes begin glowing orange, his default color.]
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 2’S EYES HAVE BEGUN GLOWING A WARM RED-ORANGE COLOR.
Panel 12: [Subject 1 becomes more bold, slowly allowing more of himself to come into view.]
Panel 13: [Subject 2 and Subject 1 regard each other from across the room. Subject 2 slowly begins approaching as Subject 1 stands and moves a bit away from the desk. Subject 2’s eyes glow orange while Subject 1’s glow blue.]
Gaster’s Notes: SUBJECT 1 SOON BEGAN GLOWING LIGHT BLUE IN RESPONSE.
Gaster’s Notes: THIS SEEMS TO HAVE CALMED THEM A LITTLE.
Panel 14: [Their eyes have stopped glowing, and they’re almost within arm’s reach of each other.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE APPROACHING EACH OTHER…
Panel 15: [Slowly, they raise their hands towards each other…]
Panel 16: [Subject 2 shoves his hand into Subject 1’s left eyesocket. Subject 1 seems at a loss.]
Panel 17: [Gaster watches them cautiously, though a little more relaxed now. He still has a pair of magic hands transcribing notes. Subject 2’s hand is still in Subject 1’s eyesocket, and Subject 2 curiously touches his own much-smaller eyesocket in comparison. Subject 1 seems chill with the exploration.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE CURIOUS ABOUT THE OTHER AS ONE MAY EXPECT.
Panel 18: [Gaster doesn’t dispel the blue SOUL magic, but he does seem confident enough in their docility that he place one physical hand in his pocket. Subject 2 has removed his hand, only for Subject 1 to grip Subject 2’s wide lower jaw.]
Panel 19: [A montage of the two exploring each other’s bodies. Subject 2 picks Subject 1 up, noting how short Subject 1 is in comparison. Subject 1 sticks his arm through Subject 2’s spacious jaw, wiggling his fingers from the other side. Subject 2 investigates Subject 1’s round cheeks and permanently-closed smile. Subject 1 covers Subject 2’s eyesocket with his little baby hands. Subject 2 stretches Subject 1’s arms outward a bit.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE THE FIRST LIVING THING THEY’VE SEEN ASIDE FROM MYSELF, AFTER ALL.
Panel 20: [Subject 2 is holding Subject 1’s arm and they are talking to each other, identifying Subject 1’s bones]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE VERY EAGER AND QUICK TO LEARN. ALREADY THEIR LEVEL OF SPEECH HAS ADVANCED AT AN ASTONISHING RATE JUST BY SPEAKING TO EACH OTHER.
Subject 2: ARMM
Subject 1: ahm?
Subject 2: HEND
Subject 1: pom
Panel 21: [Subject 2 accidentally detaches Subject 1’s arm with a soft ‘pop’. They freeze for a moment.]
Gaster’s Notes: AS ONE LEARNS SOMETHING NEW,
Panel 22: [Subject 1 draws back a little, frantic]
Subject 1: AAAAA-
[Subject 2 presses a hand to Subject 1’s mouth to try and comfort him.]
Subject 2: SHH! SHHH!! NO CRY!!
Panel 23: [Subject 2 quickly helps Subject 1 reattach his arm, trembling a little.]
Subject 2: SEE? ONE OKAY. ONE NO-MAL.
Gaster’s Notes: SO THE OTHER BUILDS OFF OF WHAT THEY’VE LEARNED TO NEW HEIGHTS.
Panel 24: [Gaster is now sitting comfortably, and has dismissed his magic hand entirely. He writes his notes with his physical hands.Subject 1 tests his newly reattached limb, rattling it a little. Subject 2 observes.]
Gaster’s Notes: A MUTUAL SCAFFOLDING.
Panel 25: [Gaster watches them in bemusement as they both begin to rattle their bones playfully together.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE INDEED LITTLE SKELETONS.
Panel 26: [Subject 2 approaches Subject 1 apprehensively, reaching out.]
Panel 27: [Subject 2 hesitates and brings his arms back. Subject 1 is confused.]
Panel 28: [Subject 2 reaches for Subject 1 again, expression screwed up as if expecting a reprimand.]
Panel 29: [Subject 2 pulls Subject 1 in closely for a hug.]
Panel 30: [Subject 1 is unsure how to react for a moment.]
Panel 31: [Subject 1 looks up at Subject 2]
Panel 32: [Subject 1 and Subject 2 embrace each other.]
Gaster’s Notes: …AND THEY ARE GETTING VERY ATTACHED TO EACH OTHER VERY QUICKLY.
Panel 33: [Gaster touches his hand to his chin thoughtfully.]
Gaster’s Notes: IF I WANT THE TWO OF THEM TO MATURE RAPIDLY, LEAVING THEM TOGETHER SEEMS THE MOST OBVIOUS CHOICE. AT THE SAME TIME…
Panel 34: [As the two little skeletons embrace each other, their eyes glow green in sync to one another, signifying pure happiness.]
Gaster’s Notes: EMOTIONAL BONDS LIKE THIS CARRY THEIR OWN RISKS.
Panel 35: [Gaster finally intervenes, standing up and walking towards the still-embracing skeletons.]
Gaster’s Notes: ON THE OTHER HAND…
Gaster: Alright, that’s enough.
Gaster’s Notes: …PERHAPS THOSE BONDS CAN BE EXPLOITED LATER, SHOULD THE NEED ARISE.

Finally! Just as promised in the last one, haha. (details/single-image ver)
Papyrus learned about limb reattaching back with Gaster if you recall, which is also where he got his first attempt at a hug rebuffed. Sans rattled his bones at Gaster before to try and scare him away, but I figure it’s a context-sensitive behavior so it’s a friendly thing here. You can’t see it but Gaster is actually smiling a little in spite of himself while they’re doing that.
This is also the first and only time the two of them glow green while they’re down there, poor things. Gaster did indeed exploit their bond later.

Panel 1: [Gaster is in a room with Subject 1. There are a couple folding tables and many boxes. Subject 1 is sitting on the floor by himself, seemingly bored. His SOUL is lit up blue to signify that Gaster is keeping him there with blue magic. Gaster pulls a bitless drill out of a box.]
Gaster’s Notes: AN UNEXPECTED DEVELOPMENT.
Gaster’s Notes: I LEFT THEM WITHIN EARSHOT OF ONE ANOTHER WHILE I WAS CLEARING ONE OF THE WORK ROOMS FOR FUTURE USE.
Panel 2: [Gaster is kneeling in front of a box in the background. 1’S is sitting cross-legged on the floor, looking at his feet, bored.]
Gaster’s Notes: IT DIDN’T TAKE THEM LONG TO REALIZE THE OTHER WAS NEARBY-
Panel 3: [Gaster is still at the box. Subject 1 sits up and takes notice of Subject 2, who has begun making noises in a different room.]
Subject 2: H-UUUUUUUUWAAAAAAAA
Subject 1: !
Gaster’s Notes: PERHAPS A SIDE EFFECT OF THE NATURE OF THEIR SOULS.
Panel 4: [Gaster has turned his attention to Subject 1, observing silently.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY MADE MEANINGLESS ANIMAL NOISES AT EACH OTHER.
Subject 2: snf UUUUWAAAAAAAAAA
Subject 1: ah? awah?
Subject 2: AAAAA- NNH? ANH?
Subject 1: unh! nnh!! Awah!!
Gaster’s Notes: (SUBJECT 1 IS CAPABLE OF IT AFTER ALL)
Panel 5: [Subject 1 is excited, and looks thrilled to be talking to Subject 2, even if it is from different rooms)
Subject 2: AAA, AUUUWA??
Subject 1: gah aauu waah!
Subject 2: NNHH! EEHHH, AH!
Subject 1: gau! ngrh- agah! aba…
Gaster’s Notes: NOTHING UNUSUAL OR NOTEWORTHY, BUT THEN…
Panel 6: [Gaster becomes shocked as he realises something.]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY BEGAN TO BABBLE.
Subject 1: agabadah?
Subject 2: ABJUH WOO! DAH?
Subject 1: abibaba dobaga
Subject 2: BIBIBI JAGAWAHBO
Panel 7: [Gaster cautiously regards Subject 1, as if not intervening may decrease the subject’s sentience.]
Subject 1: abjuh co wuh oh da!
Subject 2: ABJUH WOO BE GAIEH
Subject 1: amuh da, no no, daba dah!
Subject 2: DISPABAGEH
Subject 1: spespuh nao!
Gaster’s Notes: I COULD RECOGNIZE THE NOISES THEY WERE STRINGING TOGETHER.
Panel 8: [Gaster’s body language becomes tense.]
Gaster’s Notes: BITS AND PIECES OF THINGS I’D SAID TO THEM…
Subject 1: oo wan gabadah, daboh?
Subject 2: AH OO ISSU, DON
Gaster’s Notes: THEY EVEN MIMICKED MY TONE OF VOICE, THOUGH CLEARLY WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING.
Subject 1: fo baba deebo no no
Panel 9: [Subject 1 looks very excited, and is happily still babbling to Subject 2 offscreen]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY CAN SPEAK.
Subject 1: abjuh wuh!
Subject 2: ABJUH DOO!
Subject 1 um heeah
Subject 2: ISSNUNG?
Gaster’s Notes: THEY CAN LEARN.
Panel 10: [Blank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: THEY ARE SENTIENT AFTER ALL.
Panel 11: [Gaster presses a hand to his face as he grips the table, and his moral dilemma.]
Gaster’s Notes: I DON’T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THIS.
Panel 12: [Gaster grabs his head in distress.]
Gaster’s Notes: I SPECIFICALLY ACCELERATED THEIR GROWTH BECAUSE I DIDN’T WANT THEM TO LOOK LIKE CHILDREN, I DON’T WANT THEM TO SOUND LIKE CHILDREN-!
Gaster’s Notes: IT’S…
Panel 13: [Gaster forces his body to relax, at least a bit, though his hand lingers thoughtfully on the side of his skull]
Gaster’s Notes: …UNNECESSARY.
Subject 1: abaja gadeeba top!
Subject 2: BBABABABABA!!
Subject 1: bibiblblblbl
Panel 14: [Gaster thoughtfully puts his hand on his chin, deep in thought]
Gaster’s Notes: THE RAPID GROWTH MAY APPLY TO THEIR MINDS AS WELL… IF THEY CAN PROGRESS TO AN ADULT LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING, AT LEAST THEN…
Panel 15: [Subject 1 is sitting cross-legged again, but this time he seems much more energetic than before as he continues talking to Subject 2 from the other room.]
Gaster’s Notes: I WILL INTRODUCE THEM TO EACH OTHER TOMORROW WITH THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE.
Subject 1: abjuh wuh!
Subject 2: ABJUH WOO!!
Subject 1: abjuh woo!
Subject 2: ABJUH WUH!
Subject 1: waiiiuh!
Subject 2: GO EEAH!
Gaster’s Notes: THIS WASN’T IN MY PLANS, BUT ONE MUST ALWAYS BE READY TO IMPROVISE.
Gaster’s Notes: WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
Note: In case you couldn’t make it out clearly, as Gaster notes, Subject 1 and Subject 2 are babbling repeated phrases that he’s said to them. The ones I can make out are:
Subject 1
Subject 2

Panel 1: [Blank background]
Gaster’s Notes: SEVEN HOURS SINCE REMOVAL.
Gaster’s Notes: THE LITTLE SMALLER ONE IS AWAKE. I’M SURPRISED BOTH THAT HE’S SURVIVED OUTSIDE AT ALL, GIVEN HIS FRAILTY, AND THAT HE’S WOKEN UP AGAIN SO QUICKLY. HE MAY BE HARDIER THAN I INITIALLY THOUGHT, WHICH IS PROMISING.
Gaster’s Notes: I WENT TO OBSERVE HIM IN PERSON. A TRANSCRIPT OF MY NOTES FOLLOWS:
Panel 2: [From Gaster’s POV, we see him approach a room to his right. It has another forcefield, and Subject 1 is inside, reaching towards the ceiling.
Gaster’s Notes: I AM KEEPING MY DISTANCE AT FIRST.
Panel 3: [Subject 1 is now on the floor, closely inspecting it as if looking for an escape]
Gaster’s Notes: HE IS POKING AND PRODDING AT THE WALLS AND THE FLOOR, THOUGH HE DOES NOT COME NEAR THE FORCEFIELD. MAYBE HE SENSES THE AURA IT GIVES OFF. I GET THE IMPRESSION HE IS TRYING TO FIND A WAY OUT. PERHAPS HE WANTS TO GO BACK TO THE SUSPENSION?
Panel 4: [Gaster leans in a bit, paying close but silent attention.]
Gaster’s Notes: HE HAS YET TO MAKE ANY SOUND. IT’S PREFERABLE TO THE OTHER ONE’S CONSTANT WHINING AND CRYING. HE MAY NOT BE CAPABLE OF IT, OR HE MAY JUST BE TOO FOCUSED ON HIS EXPLORATION.
Panel 5: [The forcefield lights up brightly]
Panel 6: [Subject 1 finally takes notice]
Panel 7: [Subject 1 stands up and takes a defensive position.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’VE COME CLOSER AND HE’S CAUGHT SIGHT OF ME.
Gaster’s Notes: HE’S WARY AND SUSPICIOUS, THOUGH STILL SILENT. OBVIOUSLY, HE SEES ME AS A POTENTIAL THREAT.
Panel 8: [Gaster writes down more notes]
Gaster’s Notes: SO HE’S MORE PERCEPTIVE THAN THE OTHER ONE, AT LEAST.
Panel 9: [Gaster takes another step forward.]
Panel 10: [Subject 1’s eyes light up a deep purple in fear.]
Panel 11: [Subject 1 throws his arms apart as he backs against the wall. His eyes a mix of purple and blue.]
Gaster’s Notes: I’VE TAKEN ANOTHER STEP CLOSER.
Gaster’s Notes: HIS EYES FLARED A DEEP PURPLE COLOR, INTERLACED WITH BLUE, AND HE BACKED UP AGAINST THE WALL.
Panel 12: [Subject 1’s facial expression is aggressive, but he makes no move to flee or attack.]
Gaster’s Notes: ANOTHER STEP CLOSER, HIS EYES ARE GLOWING BRIGHTER.
Gaster’s Notes: I CAN SENSE MAGIC GATHERING WITHIN HIS SOUL, BUT HE’S TOO YOUNG NEW TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT MANIFEST INTO AN ATTACK.
Panel 13: [Gaster looks down at his clipboard, writing more notes.]
Gaster’s Notes: IF HE COULD OPEN HIS MOUTH, I’M SURE HE’D SNAP AT ME.
Gaster’s Notes: YOU CAN’T USE MAGIC TO DEFEND YOURSELF YET, AS MUCH AS YOU TRY… I WONDER WHAT YOU’LL DO IF I KEEP APPROACHING?
Panel 14: [Subject 1 looks to the right…]
Gaster’s Notes: CLOSER STILL…
Panel 15: [...and the left.]
Gaster’s Notes: HE IS GETTING QUITE FRANTIC.
Panel 16: [Subject 1 stares ahead nervously, his eyes still purple.]
Panel 17: [Gaster is standing right outside of the room now.]
Panel 18: [Subject 1 has begun shaking around, producing a repetitive “clicking noise”]
Panel 19-20: [Gaster continues transcribing his research]
Gaster’s Notes: …HE’S RATTLING HIS BONES AT ME.
Panel 21: [Subject 1 is rattling even harder]
Panel 22: [Subject 1 rattles his bones so harshly, he gets dizzy and tired and falls on his rear.]
Panel 23-24: [Gaster finishes his notes, somewhat amused.]
Gaster: Heh.
Panel 25: [Gaster leaves Subject 1 alone, his magic hands carrying notes behind.]
Gaster’s Notes: AT THAT POINT I DECIDED TO LEAVE HIM BE TO ATTEND TO OTHER MATTERS.
Panel 26: [Bank panel]
Gaster’s Notes: THE TWO OF THEM DIFFER STRIKINGLY IN TEMPERAMENT… ONE DOCILE, ONE HOSTILE.
Gaster’s Notes: WHETHER THAT WILL MAKE THINGS EASIER OR HARDER, I WILL HAVE TO SEE.

A lot of people wanted to see Gaster meeting up with baby Sans, so here we go! Actually follows right after the one with Papyrus losing his arm for once, chronological order wow Gaster unconsciously engaging in the great dad tradition of scaring your children for your own amusement. This is sort of like when a kitten gets all poofed up and ends up falling off a table.
Tried giving Gaster a more traditional Lost Soul head for this one but it looks weird to me, I may go back to the more flamey looking one in the future.

Transcription under the cut
Note: In Undertale, the lightning forcefields function a little oddly. When nothing is close, they appear invisible. When something is in its close vicinity, it appears dimly. When something is right next to it, its brightness increases greatly. I will only describe forcefields when you can see them.
Panel 1: [Gaster is sitting at a keyboard and reviewing his notes.]
Gaster’s Notes: IT’S BEEN SIX HOURS SINCE I’VE REMOVED THEM FROM THE M-D SOLUTION. THEY ARE CLUMSY AND CONFUSED AND FEARFUL. THEY STUMBLE AND TRIP LIKE CHIL
Gaster’s Notes: AS EXPECTED, LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN NON-SUSPENSION HAS LEAD TO A DIFFICULT ADJUSTMENT PERIOD, PARTICULARLY REGARDING AMBULATORY MOTION. IT WILL COME IN TIME, I’M SURE.
Panel 2: [Gaster’s hole-punched hands are typing on a keyboard]
Gaster’s notes: THEY ARE CURRENTLY SEPARATED, AS THE NATURE OF THEIR INTEREST IN EACH OTHER IS UNCLEAR AT THIS POINT. I WILL INVESTIGATE THIS MORE CAREFULLY AT A LATER DATE AFTER THEY’VE MASTERED MOVEMENT. THEY DO NOT APPEAR TO UNDERSTAND ME OR BE CAPABLE OF SPEECH. THEY MAY NOT BE TRULY SENTIENT. IT WILL BE EASIER IF THEY ARE NOT.
Panel 3: [Gaster has blank body language as he continues typing.]
Gaster’s notes: IT DOES NOT MATTER EITHER WAY. THE LINE WAS CROSSED LONG AGO, THERE IS NO TURNING BACK NOW.
Panel 4: [Screaming is coming from off-screen. Gaster is startled by it’s suddenness.]
Gaster: What the-
Panel 5: [Gaster is walking down a hallway to investigate. To his right is a magic force-field made up of light blue-green electric bolts. Screaming can still be heard as Gaster summons five magic bone attacks as a precaution.]
Gaster: What’s going on, what is all this screaming-
Panel 6: [Subject Subject 2 is sitting on the floor, wearing a green hospital gown. He’s staring in horror in front of him with yellow-tinted eyes, denoting fear/panic. Before him is the source of his fear: his left arm has detached just below the elbow, and is sitting on the floor in front of him. Subject 2 is still screaming.]
Gaster: Oh for God’s sake-
Panel 7: [Gaster places his hand on a panel to the right of the forcefield, lighting up all four blue lights above the panel and deactivating the force field.]
Panel 8: [Gaster walks in and kneels to pick up the arm, as Subject 2 cowers away with still-yellow eyes while still screaming.]
Gaster: Limb detachment for a skeleton is completely normal and entirely painless, there is absolutely no call for carrying on like this.
Gaster (to himself): And you can’t understand me anyway, why am I even bothering to talk to you?
Panel 9: [Gaster frustratedly reaches for Subject Subject 2, who desperately scoots away from him. Tears are in Subject 2’s yellow eyes.]
Gaster: I need to bring the arm close enough to reattach it, stay still-
Gaster: I am not in the mood for this- stay still-!
Panel 10: [Gaster uses blue magic to turn Subject 2’s soul blue and force him against the wall with a ‘thud’, Gaster’s body language stern and frustrated.]
Gaster: Stay STILL!
Panel 11: [Subject 2 trembles and heaves, his crying eyes still yellow, as he looks at Gaster as Gaster guides Subject 2’s detached arm close.]
Gaster: Once close enough and with proper will…
Panel 12: [With a soft ‘click’, Subject 2’s arm reattaches with no issue.]
Gaster: the arm reattaches.
Panel 13: [Gaster has his hands sternly placed on his hips as he regards Subject 2, who seems placated. Subject 2 testing moves his arm a bit, breathing calmly. His eyes are back to their normal black, though tears stain his cheekbones.]
Gaster: There, no pain, no fuss. Completely unremarkable and entirely undeserving of such attention-seeking behavior.
Panel 14: [Gaster presses his right hand to his forehead, seemingly exasperated. Subject 2 looks up at him.]
Gaster: What a waste of my time. At least the other one’s been quiet so far.
Panel 15: [Subject 2 reaches for Gaster with outstretched arms, seemingly wanting a hug. Gaster seems mildly caught off-guard.]
Panel 16: [Gaster grabs Subject 2’s outreached arms by the wrist firmly. Subject 2 now looks caught off-guard.]
Panel 17: [Gaster places Subject 2’s arms down, message clear: Keep them to yourself.]
Panel 18: [Gaster walks away from a slightly crestfallen Subject 2.]
Panel 19: [Gaster returns to his computer with a sigh.]
Panel 20: [Gaster presses his right hand to his chin, pondering.]
Gaster: The taller one is needier than I’d like.
Gaster: …I need to take steps to prevent attachment.

“A dangerous pointless distraction, nothing more.”
I do these kind of out of order depending on what idea strikes me, but chronologically this comes shortly after this one, haha. Sans is unconscious while this is going on, thus why he isn’t reacting to all the screaming. It took longer for him to adjust to being outside the tubes.

Panel 1: [It’s mostly dark, with two small blue ovals; POV of someone opening their eyes]
Panel 2: [Things become a bit more clear as our POV focuses some; everything is blue with a few fuzzy bits]
Panel 3: [Our focus tightens, and we clearly see we are suspended in blue fluid, occasional bubbles floating around]
Panel 4: [POV shifts, we are now outside the tube again. We can see a small round skeleton taking in its surroundings for the first time. It has wires attached to either side of its skull and the glowing heart within its ribcage.]
Panel 5: [The skeleton looks around, focusing its attention above…]
Panel 6: [...and below as it tries to figure things out.]
Panel 7: [The skeleton bangs on the glass of its confines anxiously, as if trying to get out.]
Panel 8: [The small round skeleton looks to its right, where thumping sounds are coming from outside its own tube.]
Panel 9: [We see a slightly larger, “thinner” looking skeleton in a separate tube. It seems to have been the source of the noise. This skeleton also has wires attached to its skull and SOUL. The two new skeletons regard each other.]
Panel 10: [The thinner skeleton looks closely in front of it.]
Panel 11: [The rounder skeleton stares back blankly.]
Panel 12: [The thin skeleton testingly taps the glass.]
Panel 13: [The thin skeleton questioningly points to itself.]
Panel 14: [The round skeleton tilts its head.]
Panel 15: [Gaster is seen walking in, taking a sip of coffee from his mug. He is holding a small stack of papers]
Panel 16: [Gaster looks up from his papers to the tubes before him]
Panel 17: [The two smaller skeletons are looking at each other from within their tubes. The round skeleton is glowing his eyes blue, while the thin one is glowing a warm orange color. It appears those are their respective default colors for eye glow. Gaster observes both of them.]
Panel 18: [The two small skeletons pay no interest to Gaster, and only regard each other curiously with their glowing eyes. Gaster stares at them pensively.]
Gaster: ...Hmm.

I imagine they were very curious about each other at first.
(Gaster waited until they were bigger before decanting them - what he had planned would be hard enough without them looking like children. Speeding up their growth process had mixed results though.)

Note: This is one of the few comics where Gaster does not have a Lost Soul Head.
Panel 1: [Two monitor lines, much like heartbeat monitors, show the first signs of activity]
Gaster: Is it…
Panel 2: [The two small skeletons are still in their respective tubes, with wires attached to their skulls and ribcage. You can see a white heart in each of their ribcages; their SOULs are strong. The skeletons are moving, if only a little bit.]
Gaster: they’re moving…
Gaster: They’re moving!!
Panel 3: [Gaster stands excitedly in front of the tubes with the skeletons, his back to the camera so we may see the monitors before him. They show a promising amount of activity. It appears he leapt up from excitement.]
Gaster: They’re moving! It worked!
Gaster: It worked, I did it! I did it!!
Panel 4: [Gaster splays his hands across the tubes in joyed amazement, his working eye wide in rapture.]
Gaster: They’re alive!
Panel 5: [We can see closer to Gaster’s face, his eyes lit up faintly with a green aura, denoting happiness. Is this fatherly pride? Surely not, it’s simply a scientist’s joy at a major scientific breakthrough.]
Gaster: You’re alive…
You said there are two scenarios where Gaster would glow, and one was while cutting the holes in his hands. What's the other one? I need to know

[Previous][Next]
For one brief, shining moment, Gaster felt a rush of fatherly love and pride for those tiny, fragile little beings. Later, when he looked back on it, he told himself he was so happy only because he’d made such a massive scientific breakthrough. Why would he feel paternal towards things, after all? No good comes from such thoughts.
Green means happy, as mentioned elsewhere. Like the holepunching comic, this is in a rough halfway state since he SHOULD have his Lost Soul head, but if he had one you wouldn’t see him glowing, which is the whole point. Sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place. WELL it is what it is.
Right now I’m leaning towards him not having to open his mouth to talk and generally keeping his mouth closed if at all possible, but he can open it if he really wants to. The tubes they’re in are not the same ones that show up later - he eventually moved them from these smaller ones to the other tubes when they got big enough.

[Gaster holds a clipboard and studies the small skeletons within the tubes. Wires are attached to their sternums and skulls.] Gaster’s Notes: More setbacks after taking shape, the magic mass has become completely inert. No sign of life, movement, growth, or change from either of them for over a week. They may as well be calcified magical exhibitions in a particularly macabre museum. They’re no good to me like this- I need them alive. I can’t have come this far to give up now. There must be a way to break them out of this stasis. There has to be something.

On further thought, I thought the transition between this page and this page was a bit abrupt, so I whipped this up real quick to smooth it out a bit, haha. It’s been a while since I’ve done things out of order! Memories…

Panel 1: [Gaster is wearing his usual lab coat and dark sweater, holding a clipboard for notetaking.
Panel 2: [An amorphous blob with a small white heart-shaped object floats in blue fluid.]
Gaster’s Notes: DAY XX: BOTH PHYSICAL SAMPLES HAVE BONDED WITH THE SOUL FRAGMENTS. PROGRESS SO FAR EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS. THE VORTEX OF MAGIC AROUND THE SOUL IS IN CONSTANT FLUX, ALTHOUGH IT FREQUENTLY MANIFESTS A LARGE NODULE ON ONE END.
Panel 3: [The same blob, but this time with one bulbous nodule and four thin appendages]
Gaster’s Notes: DAY XX: THE LARGE NODULE IS BECOMING A PERSISTENT FEATURE. FOUR SMALLER TENDRILS OF MAGIC HAVE EXTENDED FROM THE MAIN MAGIC MASS. THESE TENDRILS HAVE BEEN SURPRISINGLY CONSTANT SINCE THEY MANIFESTED.
Panel 4: [The blob looks less blob-like, it has barely defined features but certainly seems to be developing extremities such as fingers and toes]
Gaster’s Notes: DAY XX: EACH SPECIMEN HAS DEFORMED ITS PHYSICAL VORTEX IN THE SAME WAY. THE FOUR LONGER EXTRUSIONS HAVE BRANCHED INTO FIVE TINY ONES ON EACH END. I AM KEEPING A CLOSE EYE TO SEE IF THIS TREND IS EXPONENTIAL.
Panel 5: [The blob appears to have taken its final form as a small, infant-sized skeleton]
Gaster’s Notes: DAY XX: THE LARGE NODULE WITHOUT ANY EXTREMITIES APPEARS TO HAVE DEVELOPED SOME KIND OF PARTIAL PERFORATIONS IN A LOOSELY TRIANGULAR CONFIGURATION. THEY SOMEWHAT RESEMBLE…
Panel 6: [Gaster drops his clipboard]
Gaster’s Notes (continued): EYE… SOCKETS…
Panel 7: [Gaster gazes at the two tubes before him, each containing an infant-sized skeleton]
Gaster: Oh [xxxxxx].
Panel 8: [Gaster frantically gesticulates]
Gaster: You’re not supposed to look like skeletons!
Panel 9: [Gaster presses his hands against the tubes apprehensively]
Gaster: You’re not supposed to look like me…

Gaster: I’m going to hinge my entire life on the creation of these formless non-sentient beings for my experiments.
Data: There’s a pretty good chance they’ll be skeletons.
Gaster: Nobody asked you.
(Thus starting a rather panicky slide down denial mountain while the wheels continued to come off his plans)
