this is perhaps too late a time to PSA that if a cat bites you and breaks skin, that's an automatic doctor visit for antibiotics, because cats just... are really good at giving you blood poisoning.
Their teeth are long and thin and so they just leave very deep puncture wounds that are difficult to clean. More than half of cat bites become infected. Wash the injury with soap and water, and then go to the doctor.
If you chose to not go and hoped you washed it well enough, keep an eye on the site out for redness, heat, soreness, or swelling, and go to the ER if any appear.
If you have streaks extending from the bite and seeming to go down veins, genuinely stop what you're doing fucking immediately and go to emergency services, and tell them you have blood poisoning from a cat bite.
Most cat bites come from ferals and kittens who are afraid and trying to protect themselves, since domesticated cats can learn to just gum or not bite at all when playing with a human.
i am trying to figure out a pussy dentata joke now though
we have a first year apprentice who got mauled by two cats on his hands and he came to work and everybody made fun of him for it but then it turned out he had a terrible infection from the bites and might lose his arms so we were all very somber but he got better so we all get to make fun of him again guilt free.

Successful trans men
I wish I knew about men like these growing up, I wish I knew that trans men could be successful after a lifetime of never seeing anyone ‘like me’ excelling in life. So here are some trans men - some that you may have heard of, some that you may not - that are successful in a range of careers. Never let being trans hold you back, never think you can’t do something, never think there is not a place for you.

hobby crafts and great and everyone should get into a hobby craft, but I really really really really need people to do at least a little bit of research into what they’re interested in and learn important things such as that fact that polymer clay, air-dry clay, and resin are NOT food safe. yes that includes clay that’s been coated in a clear coat like mod podge (the dishwasher safe mod podge is not food safe)
the reason that some* ceramics are food safe is because glazes melt into essentially a thin layer of glass on the surface, and the clay is heated to a temperature that vitrifies it. and I say some because not all ceramics/glazes/firing temps are food safe, and that’s a whole other deep dive of research for people who get into ceramics. but the point is that most people can’t do that at home, so they look into non-ceramic materials and assume that’s a cheaper and easier way to make food-safe items, when really what’s going to happen is all these materials will leach into your food, especially with heat applied
also can resin creators wear proper PPE with gloves and respirator, I am begging you, that shit is toxic to touch and inhale

I feel like.... If you have a scheduling app for your business.... It would be very easy to make a "look for shift cover" button that would put the shift requesting cover on the calendar.... And then all employees with the app could see it, and those who are for example looking for more hours..... might click it without you having to personally ask around the store to see who is available what hours and isn't busy that day
I just think this might be a quality of life improvement I encourage all companies to look into

Toothpaste companies must really hate people who are allergic to mint toothpaste, which a lot of people are! Apparently it's NOT supposed to burn like minty hellfire? (I'm fine with mint candy, it's only mint toothpaste that hurts)
I've been using Tom's fennel for years, but am now trying to find one with fluoride in it, and finding a toothpaste that is no mint and yes fluoride should not be such a huge and infuriating quest. still got some more grocery stores to search, but not even the children's toothpaste in the nearest one had any that were suitable.

Okay, I’ve said multiple times that I’d make a new cleaner post so here it is.
I am disabled and pretty severely mentally ill, on top of being queer, Jewish, mixed race, trans, and in very little control over my own life.
My parents, about a year and a half ago, put me in a mental health institution, since then they have moved me from one to another, they seized all my funds to pay for it, and now I keep finding myself in situations where I need to buy my own shit but I don’t have my own money, but need to get myself things like shampoo, toothpaste, and food that I’m not allergic to.
I can barely support myself, I have housing sure, but the housing is hell. I only have any way to contact the outside when I’ve been ‘good’
I do not have a bank outside of venmo and my Cashapp. But please consider donating, I really am struggling.

On Twitter there are currently a lot of Christians and Muslims getting really angry about ways that Jews work around restrictions on work during Shabbat, and, like, honestly I do not understand why they care? Just a lot of non-Jews telling nice Orthodox Jews that they’re doing their religion wrong for no reason.
