I kinda wish they didn’t make Raven so different from her comic book counterparts because I know if someone did do a NTT adaption toon fans will get mad that she’s not a snarky goth girl but a very reclusive and shy girl dealing with lots of turmoil (also the grey skin and purple hair is ugly ngl)

toon Raven is ultimately a reclusive shy girl with lots of inner turmoil, it just doesn't get focused on as much because of the way the toon is written, and she uses snark as a cover for it at times. that's the thing really, as much as I prefer NTT Raven to the toon version, the toon version isn't terrible. it's more so fan perceptions and maybe also TTG that turned her into just snarky goth without her actual personality underneath.

I personally want Raven to go entirely back to the way she was in NTT, without any sarcasm and dressing more preppy the way she used to. but if they wrote Raven as goth and maybe a little snarky but still with her NTT personality underneath, I wouldn't mind it the way I mind the current writing that seems to just completely flatten her.

(also tbh you could argue that toon Raven isn't even really goth... like she's spooky and wears dark clothes and was meant to appeal to goth teens at the time but she never actually wears anything ACTUALLY goth because we never see her out of her superhero outfit)

and yeah I agree about the grey skin and purple hair SO MUCH. I wish on a daily basis that they hadn't changed her design so drastically for the toon, because at least if only her writing was affected and not her design she'd still look pretty in comic book panels even if the writing was shit. but what can you do?
