Poem prompt: The Crown (looming ominously on a table)
the crown lies heavy on a table
heavier still the crown on a head
be the king withered or able
backs will break in his stead
the crown lies on a table tall
taller still the crown must be worn
from such heights a king might fall
winds were blowing before he was born
strangely shines the table crown
brighter still the crown in the sun
all the light of a king's renown
hanging by the tale that is spun

Poetry prompts:
Your favorite tree or natural landscape
What's going on around you?
Go outside and write about the first/coolest animal you see
Yell about something that's been bouncing around your brain in a poetic manner
This is what 99% of my poems are about, hope you have as much fun as I do
i said the compass was broken, you said
any way can be north if you walk far enough
i said the map was scribbled over, you said
it was never about the destination anyway
i said the road was blocked
/ going off a cliff
/ a dead end
you said
have you tried,

poem prompt: dinosours love
no, i
never stopped caring for you
memories of us are tangled
together like bones in the earth
even through the distance of
layers of
layers of
layers of
sedimentary rock

moss, perhaps?
softest place i've ever slept?
the moss, perhaps. sinking deep deep down in the embrace of the peat, it asked me to stay as centuries pass by. how could i not?
maybe the lakebed. gently rocking me back and forth, it sang me lullabies of rains past. i dreamt of glaciers.
the spider's web, even. gossamer like life itself, to sleep is to submit. the silk is sweet.

they found a girl at the beach
her words all washed away
still feeling waves against her legs
and whale skin at her touch
foam in her hair, salt in her veins
so
they tell her about the sea

the other day i leafed through a book about norwegian artists and skimmed the page for theodor kittelsen, the folklore artist i named myself after, most known for his paintings of trolls and nøkken and such. i was very amused to find that he was seen by some as controversial in his time - apparently his paintings were using german influences and contributing to the trend of impressionable norwegian youth using german words as slang. mind you, his paintings are now some of the most norwegian-y cultural artefacts out there. the other controversy was that illustrating fairytales and books was gonna ruin the poor youths' minds and their ability to imagine things inside their head without aid. oh no!!!!!!!!!

hands down my favourite piece about media literacy is jamie loftus' the lolita podcast. it's a 10 episodes series about nabokov's lolita so it's obviously not gonna be for everyone, but i think it's a really good case study in how media literacy wasn't That Good 70 years ago either... yet it's still worthwhile to create complicated art. for yourself and the people who'll get it.
okay there's just SO many video essays about "the death of media literacy". how dead can it be when all of you are so good at it. has media literacy gotten provably worse or do we just have the internet now. when was the golden age of media literacy

thumbnail VS sketch!
sometimes i will have ideas for something i want to draw while i’m at work, so i’ll jot down a little thumbnail that i can use as a guide for later! usually the composition will change around, but this time i hit the nail on first try :’)
(the finished illustration is in the first chapter of the knight au fic)
