Truth is, the best revenge is seeking none at all and investing that energy in your own health and progress, prioritising personal goals you've been neglecting, and working toward creating a passionate, prosperous and fulfilling future of your own.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge
1. Start a gratitude journal (or a gratitude blog), and add to it throughout the month. 2. Send someone you care about a handwritten card or letter. It doesn't have to be long, and it doesn't have to be spectacular. 3. Thank someone who normally doesn't get thanked for their hard work. 4. Leave a note of encouragement in public, where people are sure to find it. (The hallways at school, the breakroom at work, a piece of equipment at the gym, a bathroom stall, etc. Keep in mind that sticky notes are preferable to graffiti!) 5. Send someone (or several someones) a gift in the mail just because. 6. Let go of a grudge. 7. Decide that just for today, you will not worry about things you can't change or control. 8. Turn off the news, and log off social media. Just for today. 9. Get out into nature. Even if it's just for a few minutes. 10. Practice mindful eating. Really take the time to enjoy your food, pay attention to how it feels, smells, and tastes, and how it makes you feel afterwards. 11. Give yourself credit where it's due. You deserve it! 12. Make a donation to a charity of your choice. Or, if you can't donate money, find a volunteer opportunity in your community. 13. Call or video chat with someone you care about. 14. Just for today, focus on what you do like about your body, instead of what you don't. Not just in terms of looks, either: think of what your body does for you every day. 15. Practice patience, in a situation where you might lose your temper instead. Ask yourself, "Is it really worth losing my shit over this?" 16. Compliment someone. 17. Recycle or upcycle something you'd normally throw away. 18. Go through your clothes, and give away anything that no longer fits, or that you no longer wear. 19. Choose to be less cynical, even just for today. 20. Leave a positive review on a story, a local business' Yelp page, a piece of artwork, etc. 21. Ask to speak to the manager. But this time, tell them what an awesome job their employee is doing. 22. Take on an unpleasant task (at work/school, or around the house) that you normally wouldn't. 23. Let someone go ahead of you in line at the post office, the grocery store, the coffee shop, a fast-food restaurant, or wherever else you might find yourself waiting in line. 24. Notice something beautiful around you that you might normally not notice, or might normally take for granted. 25. Today, instead of coasting along, help out your partner, your roommate, or your family member who normally does the invisible work and/or the emotional labor. Without being asked, and without half-assing it or otherwise making more work for them. 26. Declare a "no-shopping" day. No going to the store (unless it's for something truly essential), no shopping online, no catalog shopping. Today is a day for appreciating what you already have, instead of acquiring More Stuff. 27. Support a local small business. (Note that MLMs don't count here, as although they claim to be small businesses, they are not.) 28. Transform some blah leftovers into something new and delicious. Don't know how to cook? Well, now is as good a time as any to learn! 29. Stand up for someone who's being bullied at school or work. 30. Make a commitment to set boundaries and pick your battles. Show up for what really matters to you, and spend your finite emotional energy where it counts. And if some of this or all of this just does not resonate with you, or you're just not able to do it due to time constraints, physical or mental health issues, finances, or what have you, that's okay. Do what you can, or change some things around. (Remember, these are only a relative few ideas.)

“How can you say you love one person when there are ten thousand people in the world that you would love more if you ever met them? But you’ll never meet them. All right, so we do the best we can. Granted. But we must still realize that love is just the result of a chance encounter.”
— Charles Bukowski (via perfectquote)
