Audio Drama 4 - Hospitalization for Heroes means Time Off?

Thomas: TIGER & BUNNY 2, Special Audio Drama, Hospitalization for Heroes means Time Off? This episode takes place while we were hospitalized after the Fugan & Mugan fight. What do you do when you have free time? It seems like my buddy has latched onto a weird idea and was acting like his usual self.

(paper being flipped)

Subaru: I have a confession to make. I, Mr. Black, am not scared of anything. I don’t experience fear. The result of doing 10,000 push ups, running into 10,000 incidents, and sparring 10,000 times has freed me from the shackles of fear.

(stress ball squeezing sfx)

Thomas: Hu! Hu!

Subaru: Whaddya think? (Thomas: Hu!) Pretty good writing, right? (Thomas: Hu!) Perfect for my autobiography, right?

Thomas: Hu!

Subaru: …hey. (Thomas: Hu!) Were you listening to me?

Thomas: (sighs) Don’t worry. I was listening to you while training. And you’re going to publish that autobiography?

Subaru: Yeah! In the future when I retire!

Thomas: Retire?

Subaru: Well, I’m going to be a highly respected hero within the community, right? So I figured it’d be best for me to start writing now. Since all great men have an autobiography, obviously.

Subaru: And so~ I was wondering if I could get you to write a comment for my autobiography. Something like a Buddy’s impression of me~?

Barnaby: (menacing) Isn’t that…obvious?

(wind howling sfx)

Kotetsu: Dah!? What’s that!?

Subaru: Eh-eh! What? What do you mean!?

Kotetsu: I-I think I just saw someone by the window…

Subaru: (trembling) R-r-r-r-r-really!?

Thomas: That’s probably just our reflection.

Kotetsu: Eh? (walks over) Oh, e-heh, yeah it is. My bad, sorry.

Subaru: (sighs) Don’t scare me like that…

(vibration sfx)

Subaru: Aaah!! An EMF meter?!

Barnaby: No. It’s clearly a cell phone.

Kotetsu: Hello? Ma? Sorry, I’m a bit busy so I’ll call you later. Bye.

Subaru: Could have fooled me…

Thomas: Hey, didn’t you write that you are not scared of anything in your autobiography? Are you scared of ghosts?

Subaru: Ah- nooooo! I’m not- (clears throat) I’m not scared of ghosts!!

Thomas: Hmm.

Subaru: Are you doubting me? Then you watch! I’ll punch these ghosts!! I’ll be going ahead, senpai!!

Kotetsu: Look at him putting on a strong front.

(walking sfx)

Barnaby: The destination for this courage test is where the most ghost sightings have been notified: The surgery room.

Kotetsu: The surgery room huh. Seems like the place they’d be.

Subaru: Heee!!

Barnaby: What’s wrong?

Subaru: Just now, I sensed something behind me… Heeeic!! (hiccup sound)

Thomas: There’s nothing there.

Subaru: Ehh yeah I figured… Heeeic!

Kotetsu: Stop reacting like that.

Subaru: Even if you tell me to stop… Heeeic!

Kotetsu: You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you.

Barnaby: Oh! We’ve arrived, Kotetsu-san.

Subaru: Wha-hic!

Barnaby: This is the rumored hallway.

Subaru: So what’s the, um, rumor?

Kotetsu: Apparently, you can hear the pained moans of a man in this hallway.

Thomas: Pained moans?

Barnaby: Correct. The nurse told me that they heard a voice behind them say… (dry, painful voice) “Cooooooome here… Cooooooome here…” (back to normal) when they were walking through this hallway. How strange, how peculiar. How unsettling and bizarre. But nobody was there when they turned around.

Barnaby: However, the nurse heard the voice again when they tried to continue walking. (dry, painful voice) “Cooooooome heeeeere. Coooooome heeeere.” The voice was becoming louder and louder and before the nurse knew it, the voice was right behind them.

Subaru: (inhales) A-and…what h-happened?

Barnaby: The nurse was panicking but realized that the voice was telling them to “cover me” rather than “come here.”

Kotetsu: ‘Com-coveeer, he-mee…’ Cover me… Huh. I can kinda hear it.

Barnaby: And so, the nurse pulled out a bandage and put it on the floor. With that, the hallway went silent.

Thomas: So that means we should have a bandage on us if we’re going to walk through here?

Barnaby: For that, I have brought one for everyone.

(they all take one)

Thomas: Thank you.

Kotetsu: So it’s 100% confirmed a ghost will appear here then.

Subaru: This is the worst….

Ghost: —me —e

Subaru: Heeeic!! Just now!! Did you hear it!?

Barnaby: Hear what?

Subaru: The voice you were telling us about!!

Kotetsu: It’s too early for us to be—

Ghost: Cooooome -eeer—

Kotetsu: Or not!!

Subaru: Aaaah this is not good! Shouldn’t we just turn back?

Thomas: No.

Subaru: Eeeeh why!?

Thomas: I refuse to leave anything unfinished.

Subaru: Do you really need to be stoic right now!?

Thomas: Let’s move forward.

(walks)

Subaru: Aaah! Hey!?

Kotetsu: You’re gonna have to give up on convincing him, Black.

Barnaby: You have a bandage so you’ll be fine.

Subaru: (exhales) Are you kidding me?

(walking sfx)

Ghost: (whispers) -o—ver –eeeee.

(walking sfx)

Ghost: Coo—e –mee.

(walking sfx)

Ghost: Cooov— heee–re!

Subaru: (nervous) The voice… (Ghost: Cooooo—eemee) It’s definitely getting closer to us…

Barnaby: We should get ready to put down our bandages soon. (Ghost: —ooov—eeeeemere)

Kotetsu: Alright. We’ll turn around at one.

Thomas: Okay.

Kotetsu: Three, two…!

(turns around)

Subaru: Hh!! …nobody is here… (Ghost: —n -ith —mee)

Barnaby: Everyone, place your bandages on the floor.

Subaru: And, um, this’ll stop the ghost from talking…right?

Barnaby: Correct. Let’s hurry towards the surgery room.

(walking sfx)

Ghost: Chaaaaa—e -heeee

Subaru: Heeeic! I still hear it!! I can still hear the voice!!

Barnaby: It should have stopped when we left the bandages but…

Kotetsu: The voice is getting closer! (Ghost: Aaaaaan—ge wi—- -eee)

Thomas: Um, I just realized this but, I don’t think he’s saying “cover me”.

Barnaby, Kotetsu and Subaru: Eh?

Subaru: Then what is he saying?

Ghost: —aaaanng–e –ith m-eee. Chaaaaaa—-ge with me—. Chaaaange with me!!

Subaru: Aaaaaaaaaaa!! Aaah ah aaaah aaaaaaaaah!!

Ghost: Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaange with meeeeee!!

Barnaby: Let’s run for it! The surgery room should be up ahead!

Thomas: Understood.

(running sfx)

Kotetsu: Come on, Black!

Subaru: Aaaaaauhaaaa!? Please waaaait!! Please wait for me!!

(door closes)

Subaru: (panting) What the hell was that!?

Thomas: That ghost had been demanding that we switch places with him since the beginning.

Subaru: That’s—! Holy shit are we gonna die!? (Ghost: Chaaange with meee)

Barnaby: Let’s remain in this room until the voice disappears. Right Kote—Kotetsu-san!? (Ghost: Chaaange with me!!)

Subaru: Tiger-san isn’t here… Did he!? Did he not make it!?

Barnaby: But he was with us when we entered this room.

Subaru: Is this like…some sort of paranormal interference!?

(chainsaw sfx)

Subaru: Heeeic! Wha-wha-wha…. What the hell is that!?

Barnaby: A chainsaw!?

Subaru: Heeeic… Over there… There’s a shadow of a man holding a chain-sa-saw in the hallway!!

Barnaby: What’s happening!?

Thomas: I’ll take care of him.

Barnaby: No you can’t! That man isn’t from this world! It’s probably best to not make any unnecessary moves!

Thomas: But—

(mic reverb sfx)

Voice: Ki-ki-ki-ki kibam-bam-bam-bam-bam…

Subaru: Aaaaaaah what’s happening anymore!?

Thomas: What…is this weird voice…?

(bang)

Subaru: Eeyaaaaaaah!!

(banging on the door)

Ghost: —ooooougraaa graoooo!

Barnaby: Over there!! Zombies!!

Subaru: Uwaaaaaahaa waaaaaaait waaaaaaaaaaaaaaait!!

Voice: Ki-ki-ki-ki kimam-mam-mam-mam-mam…

(banging on the door continues)

Subaru: (panting) Eeeh ah ah ah ah! What the hell is going on!?

Barnaby: There may be a sinister force at play right now!!

Subaru: Nooooo!!

Thomas: I’m tired of this. I will attack them.

Barnaby: No you can’t! You’ll end up possessed if you attack them!!

Subaru: Eeeeuaaaa!? The man with the chainsaw is in front of the door!!

(chainsaw begins to cut through the door)

Subaru: He’s coming!! He’s coming he’s coming he’s coming!! Aaaaaaaaaaah!!

(chainsaw cuts through the door)

(silence)

Kotetsu: Surprise!!

Subaru and Thomas: …huh?

Subaru: (weakly) Eh? …Tiger…san?

Kotetsu: Hahaahaa! Heehee! Loosen up a little, Black. It’s just a courage test! (chainsaw sfx)

Subaru: …what?

Kotetsu: Hehehee~ This went better than we planned, right Bunny?

Barnaby: Haahaha! I was worried what would happen when Thomas said he was going to attack you but it turned out fine.

Subaru: W-w-w-what’s happening?

Thomas: These ghosts and spirits were just an act.

Subaru: An act?

Barnaby: I asked my friend to set up some small speakers and had him speak into a mic and project images of zombies.

Kotetsu: You remember how I was on the call with my ma? That was actually me on the phone with Bunny’s friend, signaling him to start the courage test.

Subaru: That friend of yours… Was it the man from earlier today?

Barnaby: Correct.

(vibration sfx)

Barnaby: Speaking of. (picks up) Hello?

Mattia: This is from the operation room. How was my ghost act?

Kotetsu: Oh it was scaaary!!

Barnaby: The two were quite panicked.

Mattia: I’m happy to hear that!

Barnaby: But, I think you were a bit too aggressive.

Mattia: For example?

Barnaby: Zombies started banging on the door right when a man with a chainsaw appeared, so the world building was off and it came off as too busy.

Mattia: Aaah okay.

Barnaby: But even I said some embarrassing things about possessions and what not too. Haha.

Mattia: Heehe. Alright! I’ll rework that.

Kotetsu: Oh also! I think the chainsaw is too terrifying.

Barnaby: Yes, I agree.

Mattia: Then, how about Tiger-san showing up as a zombie at the very end?

Kotetsu: Sounds good! I’ll make sure to practice!

Subaru: Um!! …what’s going on?

Kotetsu: Eh? What do you mean?

Subaru: Well like, why are you doing so much to make fun of us?

Kotetsu: This isn’t to make fun of you.

Barnaby: To tell you the truth, we were planning on holding a courage test for the children who are in the pediatrics ward.

Subaru: Pediatrics ward?

Barnaby: Many of the children there are unable to make fond memories because of their long hospitalization.

Kotetsu: So we were wondering if there was anything we could do for them.

Mattia: The three of us planned everything through trial and error but none of us were sure of how scary it actually was.

Kotetsu: So we basically tested it on you two.

Subaru: Euuughhh… Then you should have just said that in the first place…

Thomas: That would defeat the entire purpose.

Mattia: Anyway, we finally have a direction to go because of this test run! Seems like we need to tweak some things.

Barnaby: Then shall we meet up tomorrow, with everyone, at the same time as always?

Subaru: Including us?

Kotetsu: Of course! We’re gonna write a comment for your autobiography, afterall.

Subaru: Aaaaah…(silence) Okay!

Thomas: Oh you stopped yourself from saying something…

Kotetsu: Alright then! We’re gonna prepare something even more terrifying tomorrow so you better be ready!

Subaru: Eeeeeeeh…

Subaru: (stretches) Eeeeeugh, aaaah! With this we are finally done with rehabilitation.

Thomas: You seem pretty tired today.

Subaru: (yawns) And you’re not tired after all we went through yesterday? I couldn’t sleep at all when I went to bed.

Thomas: You did seem pretty scared last night.

Subaru: Huh!? No I wasn’t!?

Thomas: Hmm. Whatever.

Subaru: More than that, are you heading to the gym right now?
