Thanks for adding that, it's actually what I thought of as well.

But good news!! He was discharged from the hospital about an hour ago with the all clear. A little battered and bruised obviously but that's the extent of it.

Hopefully the MCRCB find the cause. A statement from someone on the team said the helmet flexed enough to come loose when the bike ran over his head (ouch) but that still leaves the question of what happened to the chinstrap.

The helmet may have saved him from the bike but he was very lucky to have stopped before the barrier that he was sliding towards head first with no helmet.

Currently there's no statement from bell helmets but I will update if there is.
