The part about checking with the disabled person about what is necessary to get to the location is really important to me. I struggle to walk long distances and especially struggle uphill with stairs or slopes. And there have been so many times I've asked someone "How far do we have to walk?" And they reply with "Not far" and "Not far" ends up being something like 1km plus two flights of stairs. Or 2kms down hill, which will then be 2km uphill at the end of the day when I'm already exhausted. Or they'll tell me "oh it's only a 5min walk" which it might be for them but then for me it could end up being 30-40min walk depending on weather, ground surface, hills, whether or not I'm having a good or bad day.
Tell me the distance we have to walk and whether or not it's flat. 2km on a mild day and flat ground I might be fine. But if that 2km is on a slight incline, or the weather is too hot or too cold I will run out of energy long before I ever get there
Want to go on a date with someone with a cane and chronic pain?
- Make sure the place where you’re going is accessible!  Your date might opt to use a wheelchair that day, and if they’re using a cane, best to make sure there aren’t a silly number of stairs involved in whatever date you’re considering.
- Call ahead to the place to see if wheelchairs are available to borrow if you’re going somewhere that involves a lot of walking and standing around, like a museum.
- If your date is using a cane, they likely only have one arm to hold things.  Consider bringing their food/drinks to the table along with yours– let them claim a booth while you get the food!
- Be prepared and willing to be someone’s physical support sometimes, especially if your date is having a rough leg day.
- Be prepared for a Plan B Date: it’s so awesome to have a back-up plan for the date if the day comes around and your person is spoonless.  Believe me, it’ll mean a lot.

can we all agree that being overdressed is a myth made up by boring stuffy people who are too worried about other people’s lives and don’t want you to have fun

I look amazing in glasses, I like way more photos of myself now I have glasses.
can we talk about how literally 64% of people wear glasses, and yet we NEVER see them in movies/tv unless it’s on some nerdy or uncool character? why do we adhere to such a weird beauty standard that subconsciously makes us feel bad for,, not being able to see???

The difference between a bisexual person and a pansexual person is that a bi person identifies as bi and a pan person identifies as pan and you don't get to fucking tell them that their understanding of their own sexuality is wrong

Boys are allowed to be feminine and that includes trans boys, pass it on. Girls are allowed to be masculine and that includes trans girls, pass it on. Nonbinaries are allowed to use feminine or masculine expression, pass it on.

The WA border is no longer a hard closed border! Which means finally families can be reunited and people come in! But this also means my fellow West Australians that we should actually snap back into paying attention to all those COVID-safe guidelines! We’ve had a very good few months of having nothing to worry about and have grown pretty complacent and I’m pretty sure a lot of us don’t bother to hand sanitize or put any distance between us and others. Now it’s great that people can finally come back into the state again without a super ton of hassle, but this also means that we should be a bit more diligent when it comes to safety and hygiene to ensure that we don’t have a second wave if a person carry COVID manages to sneak under the radar. OK? OK.

I had people in witch-y spaces give me a lot of shit for my blue goldstone orb, because its "fake" and "Just glass" because its a man-made gemstone.
But just look at it! What's not to love, its absolutely stunning like a little piece of space with billions of stars rolled into a beautiful ball, and without all the problems of slave labour and mining that come with most gemstones.

Weird peeve time. Calling lab grown gemstones "fake" is stupid because it's the same shit just not formed naturally. An artificially grown diamond is the same shit as a natural diamond it is the exact same material bro it's all fuckign carbon

Stop this “work hard” bullshit. You deserve free time, you deserve sleep and you deserve mental health. You deserve to procrastinate and you deserve to have your hobbies. You deserve it. You need it. No one should work & study all the time.
