Day 8 of #fiberuarychallenge ‘Work In Progress’ I think I might have posted this last time I did the Fiberuary Challenge. I have been working on this hat from @pompommag for a number of years now. There has been no progress! Mostly I think because I sat on one of the needles and broke it and I don’t really want to pay for delivery for just needles, and with my self-imposed yarn buying ban there has been no opportunity to add more needles to my basket. #fiberuarychallenge day 7 ‘Colourful’. I’ve chosen to show the hat I made for Miss P for todays post. This was made entirely from wool in my stash and was almost a no waste knit as I knitted with each colour as close as I could to the end. The knitting pattern is a free Drops Design pattern I found online called Autumn Acorn, but the colour pattern is something I made up, as you might be able to tell! I think the shape is a bit strange, but I’m hoping once it’s blocked out it will look better! I plan to add a small, pink pompom once I’ve blocked it out. Day 5 of #fiberuarychallenge is ‘Sunday Funday’. Sundays for me are all about getting outside. Whether it’s at the allotment or a National Trust property or a walk in the Peaks. Parks are good too, but my preference is for somewhere a bit more rugged, ideally with sandwiches and a flask of hot coffee! Day #4 of the #fiberuarychallenge is ‘made in 2022’. I didn’t actually make that much in 2022. Partly because with starting a new job and having two young children I was mentally at capacity and also I had imposed a ‘knitting only from stash’ rule which unsurprisingly reduced my readiness to start projects 😂😂 I did actually complete two other projects, but they are gifts so I won’t share those until I’ve handed them over. This was my second attempt at knitting this hat. I like the pattern the yarn makes, but it’s too big which has made me sad. I also made a pom pom which is too heavy. I’m hoping once I’ve blocked this out and reduced some of the density from the pom pom, I’ll actually like this a bit more. Wow, I am behind on this years #fiberuarychallenge Partly because of the third days topic ‘go red’. I am not really a fan of red. It’s a great Christmas colour, but that’s about where my love for it ends, discounting red wine and red lipstick! So I really struggled what to post for the third day. And then I remembered this gorgeous cardigan that my mum knitted for our oldest daughter. Miss I chose the colour and the buttons and I love it.
