Quick heads up,
I deleted an ask by request of the asker, so just to let you guys know - if you send something that you'd like me to see but don't want publicly answered, please let me know in the ask! I absolutely don't mind, and I'd rather not overshare on anyone's behalf!

I hope the kids growing up on today's internet are still getting to share that experience of finding some out-of-context AMV featuring an implied narrative of characters they know nothing about and having it become a keystone of their brain forever

you ever make any AMVs yourself? or if not, any fun ones you can share?
Oh I absolutely did, but I never posted them anywhere - they were just for me, and I'm not even sure what hard drive I'd need to look for to dig them back up. That's where I developed the beginnings of my video editing skills. I even did some of those "movie trailers but using footage from anime instead" swaps. It scratched the same itch for me as drawing fanart did!
Most of them were Very Serious fight scenes cut over nu-metal edgelord buttrock, but I definitely also made one about Sesshomaru using Gay Or European.

Hey Red, I notice sometimes when I try to post a comment on your comic it doesn't show up right away. Sometimes it does and I can see it! A lot of other times, I'll try to post something and it doesn't appear in the comment section. You know what's going on there?
The first time anyone leaves a comment I have to go in and manually approve them, because otherwise you guys would get inundated with spambots. I don't check the comments every day because trying to do anything habitually makes the brain goblins unionize against me, so sometimes I can go as long as a few weeks without approving new comments.
The image filesizes on every page are kind of enormous, and in order to make the loadtimes Not Horrible, they're improved by having several layers of caching, which means someone loading the page is usually getting a saved instance of the page as a whole and not independently loading every asset from the server. Those saved versions of the page update pretty frequently, but not in full realtime, so you'll probably be seeing a cached version that's at least a few minutes old, potentially without the newest comments.

Hello! This isn't comic-related, but concerning the Frankenstein's Eyes Incident, I thought it might be worth it to drop by and say that the main thing your classics summaries inspired me to do is actually read more, especially the source materials, including Frankenstein, which became my favorite book a few years ago, and still inspires basically everything I create (the amount of homunculus and artificially constructed characters in my writing are... something). And after being introduced to it through OSP, Dracula was my gateway read into the horror fan I am today. ith the risk of putting too much feels into an ask to a stranger, if I haven't stumbled into OSP when I did, I might not have ended up being a writer at all, and now a few weeks ago my first short story got actually published and that rekindling of love for the art of storytelling sorta kinda maybe changed my life. It's frustrating when people on the internet misinterpret what you're saying and use it as basis for misinformation, but there's also other cases! I'm sure you know about that already but still, a quick "hey, your fascination with stories was so contagious it made my life better" wouldn't hurt, probably. That's all I hope you have a good day!

Case in point on the "I cannot save myself with clarification", I guess - the primary thing I hear in response to this is "maybe you could cite your sources in the description?"
The vast majority of my summary videos have a singular source, and it's in the title of the video. The vast majority of the misc myths have a singular source, and it's stated in the introduction to the video. Any video that's larger and more complicated, eg the deep dives, will usually state the source of the specific chunk of video at the beginning of that chunk of video. I didn't always do that to the level of rigor I do now, so older videos can be a lot shakier on that. But anything I've made in the last several years has nothing more to cite. Adding a list would contribute no new information because all that information is already there.
I have never obscured my sources, because it is my explicit intention to inspire people to seek out and engage with these sources with new enthusiasm that they often aren't taught with in the academic settings I received them in. I am not being misunderstood due to a lack of clarity that I can correct, I am being poked with pitchforks by the very reading comprehension goblins I seek to defeat.
Re: the Frankenstein post
The channel is literally called "Overly Sarcastic Productions". If people aren't assuming at least a little embellishment and dramatic flair, then that's really no fault but the underfunded education systems' their own tbh =P
Yeaaah. But I've observed that, unfortunately, almost everyone on the internet is very reluctant to follow a citation back to its source to double-check it - myself included, if I'm not careful - which means (a) people who watch my summaries frequently don't go on to seek out the original source and formulate their own thoughts on it, and (b) when those people then erroneously quote something goofy from my interpretation as Indisputible Fact, the people who get mad at me about it don't go back to the video to see what I actually said and in what context.
I've been mulling this over to try and figure out if there's anything I can do about that, because I don't want to contribute to the dissemination of misinformation under any circumstances, but I learned from a very long childhood of Being Neurodivergent that you frquently cannot overexplain your way out of being misunderstood, especially not when misunderstanding you is entertaining. This might just be the price I pay for allowing myself to have any fun with the summarizing.

oh yea that's my fault, somehow I'm continually surprised that people who use me as a substitute for literary analysis don't seem to literarily analyze me when I tell them I'm a funny haha internetter and not an academic source
I’ve seen this comment a few times on my art here and on insta and I’m genuinely curious— WHERE did people get the idea that the Creature “just had creepy eyes”?? That Victor only ran away because the Creature’s eyes freaked him out?
I’ve seen people say this repeatedly and it couldn’t be further from the truth like. He is explicitly described as an eight foot tall cobbled together corpse with skin that barely covers his veins, yes his eyes are creepy but that would probably be the last thing anyone would notice about the Creature tbh 😭
