I teamed up with Empire Escape a while ago and we recorded two songs off their latest album entitled 'Colours'. It's hard to put this very talented band from Berlin into a specific genre category. I liked this kind-of undefined sound and enjoyed working with them. Pick up their latest record and enjoy 'The Past Is A Strange Place' as well as 'The Chemistry of Colours' live & acoustically.

What keeps me going.
I launched Compass and Square last year in January together with my best friend Thierry.
We both knew that our project wasn't based on a new idea and there are plenty of similar projects on the Internet. Still we were highly motivated to put out something special and creative.
At first we were discussing our budget. As we are both students we couldn't afford high-end gear, so we settled for a Røde mic and a Canon camera and a new lens.
We recorded our first session with Mike Herrera from MxPx. That was a huge honour an privilege for us and we are thankful to Felix from Flix Records who made this happen.
Months passed with incredible speed and we kept recording sessions with national and international artists. Special thanks go to Ryan Mackfall because he made the Defeater session, which has been viewed most, happen and helped me to get the word out.
So what is it that really keeps me going you may ask. It's people like Ryan Mackfall, James Carroll, Mike O'Toole and of course our loyal YouTube-Community that give me the strength to go on. I met James and Mike back in March on Make Do And Mend's Europe Tour and we had a nice chat about the past months of our lives, touring and I am glad to call them friends. Encouraging words and tips from such talented people like them keep me going.
Of course not everyone is grateful for what we do. It seems to me that some people just want to make it harder for you to succeed. Their only goal is fame which is in my opinion a pretty sad state of mind. Considered as a small fish some people don't think it is in the best interest for band to record a session with us because we lack of a huge Fan-base or don't represent a music magazine.
After all I would go ahead and say, recording those sessions is a lifetime experience and I will probably keep doing this for a long time. I became friend with so many different people across the world and I think that if you work hard enough you can be successful.
I don't care if we only have few people following, liking or sharing our sessions. As long as those few enjoy what we put out, we keep going.
So to all our supporters (in any way) we thank you for a very special year.
