Here's one of the last images I snapped of Breadsticks back on March 17. They were rattling a lot that day, which some believe could be a sign of appreciation. Here they are nibbling at a flowering bud on the tree. The only images taken after this are of them just making the noise in the same position. They're just about a year old so far too young to have found a mate to gone and had eggs with. I've come close to breaking down over the thought of them being finally being gone but I'm starting to accept it.
Reuploading this after a quick edit. I revisited a photo of Oregano and really digging this edit I have for it. Just messing around. I'll probably edit it more another time to get the most out of this picture.
celebrate today by being the pesky (and lovable) little corvid you want to see in the world ! damn the man! dismantle the system! eat those peanuts and fetch those trinkets!
It's so funny to me that it's possible to have verbal misunderstandings with animals.
This morning I made Ripley (a parrot) a foraging toy, as I often do before I leave for work, by putting a bunch of paper shreds in an old tea box with some peanuts and dried cherries. He hadn't touched it by the time I came home so when he was wandering around the living room restlessly looking for something to do I picked up the box and told him "hey, there's a peanut in here. You can get it out" and then I went back to my office.
After a couple minutes, he walked through the kitchen to where I was sitting at my desk and looked up at me and whispered "I get peanut?"
I said, "Buddy. I think you misunderstood me. The peanut is still in the box."
He tapped his beak on the floor, said "oh" in a really disappointed tone, and then helpfully suggested, "I step up get a peanut?"
