“Gabe isn’t abusive in the show” ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW???

Gabe is literally introduced by yelling at someone who, when Percy apologizes for Gabe’s behavior, says “I’m walking out, you’re walking in. I should be apologizing to you.” And then Percy reluctantly and slowly walks inside. And Gabe immediately starts in on him (calling him “Genius” in a mocking tone) as Percy repeatedly expresses that he just wants to talk to his mom ( and Gabe’s subsequent “Is that all you have to say to me?”) The fact that he answered Sally’s phone and acted like he had every right to do so?? The way he shows begrudging respect when thinks Percy was violent towards another kid at school?? The “you would think that because you’re a child, you don’t understand things…” The way he gets annoyed that Percy wants to know where his mother is. The “what are we doing Percy? every time! wow…wow!” in such a condescending tone??? Percy’s immediate alarm when Sally calls Gabe’s name. Gabe immediately yelling at Sally, not knowing anything about Percy’s life (he didn’t even know his school’s name despite literally just talking to them), the way he makes Sally negotiate to use the car (“Why am I okay with this?” “Make sure they put the hot peppers on my sandwich please!”) the way he acts like his tone of voice shouldn’t matter to Sally because he said “please” the aggressive behavior even after he concedes to letting them use the car (getting in Percy’s face, pointing his finger at him, etc.), like???

Just because he isn’t depicted as smacking the shit out of them doesn’t mean he isn’t abusive. He is constantly yelling, even when it’s not necessary, and is overall condescending and rude towards both Percy and Sally. He has a positive reaction towards the idea of Percy being violent, which means that he probably has no problems getting violent himself, even if it isn’t show on screen. The fact that he is constantly trying to redirect Percy and Sally’s decision to make himself the center of it (he is trying to goad Percy into an argument when he gets kicked out of school and overall keeps trying to redirect the conversation back to himself, he acts like he is allowed to breach Sally and Percy’s privacy but then makes Sally get his permission to drive somewhere, and even then she has to give him something in return). Like he is very clearly controlling and emotionally/financially abusive (he acts like Sally’s things are his despite not having a job and likely blowing through their money). It also seems like he tries to diminish Percy’s self esteem, possibly to keep him and Sally under his thumb (it’s a common tactic used by abusers to make the victims feel like the need to depend on the abuser). Overall, just because he might not be physically abusing them, doesn’t mean he isn’t abusing them and doesn’t mean his actions aren’t harmful. Furthermore, just because he isn’t violent on screen doesn’t mean he isn’t violent.

Thinking about Crowstiel. Again 🫣

And I feel like in the dynamic between Castiel and Crowley, Cas is the more unhinged one.

Like they are both great planners, they have experience and they are also both capable of creating a plan that in itself is insane.

I mean the whole progatory thing was not fun and games.

But Cas would throw himself in fire of he thinks it's viable and can work, whole Crowley would look to get the situation under control.

Because Cas, 1. Had bad self preservation skills. 2. Is used to situations where his opponents are generally more powerful and surprise actually works for him a lot.

Now, both Crowley and Cas love the element of surprise.

But Crowley does it in more Sherlock Holmes way. Because he is more of a diplomat.

Cas does that in a sense he will throw himself out of the window and drag you with him. Cause he is more a soldier/warrior and likes to go messy.

All this just because I had a vision of Juliet and Cas going absolutely feral, while Crowley watched them with a sumg, but find expression.

He would like they are a little over enthusiastic but they are mine and I will grill you in hell fire if something happens to either.

Hmmm... yeah Crowley definitely is more of a diplomat than Cas. But I have a slightly different take.

I don't see Castiel as unhinged. Yes, he throws himself into fire. But those are not just knee-jerk reactions of a hot head. He was a famed military commander among angels, he is strategic and tactical. He used a puny, seemingly suicidal force to punch through enemy lines to defeat Raphael; he used a sigil carved on his chest to blow out four angels; he faked capture by Gadreel to get into heaven to defeat Metatron even when he lost his army. Even his deals with the Shadow, and his final sacrifice, all were calculated to achieve the exact outcome he wanted. Yes, all his strategies involved putting himself in harm's way. But these are strategies nonetheless, they are intentional, they are not about him losing self control. They are about him seeing himself as nothing but a tool to achieve what he believes is the greater good.

In fact, his instinct of self-preservation is perfectly in place. When he gets into a self-defense mode, when he is surprised by attackers, he was effective in killing his attackers. When he was attacked by Rachel. He killed two fully powered angels in self-defense while he was human and injured. He killed various assassins that outnumber him effortlessly (season 5 and 9). Ironically, it is when he does lose control of himself, when he acts on instinct, that he protects himself.

Crowley is certainly very diplomatic as you say, and very calculating. Always acting on self-interest. Yet, I think it was @crowley-the-1-true-king-of-hell who pointed out that from time to time Crowley gets triggered, lashes out in anger, loses his cool, and acts irrationally, undermining himself. He made some stupid mistakes in S8 finale because he was angry and acted emotionally, and it got him captured by Sam and Dean and ultimately "humanized".

So like, this is my take.

Cas seems to have no sense of self-preservation because he doesn't believe he is worthy of self-preservation.

Crowley is all about self-preservation because that's what he was forced to do from childhood, the only thing he knew; but he loses that instinct when the insult and pain of the world becomes too much to bear.

That's how I see them.

Lucifer has escaped the cage and is hunting Crowley. Crowley used Lucifer's soldier Meg and her human allies to set up a ruse for Lucifer. He recruited his friend Cas to help him fake his own death.

Episode 26: Caged Heat (Part 2)

The deception is flawlessly executed by Cas and Crowley.

"You the calvary now?" On the surface, he implies Cas is the calvary for Meg and the Winchesters. He and Cas know that Cas is the calvary for Crowley.

Missing scene: flashback of Cas rehearsing this scene with Crowley. "Don't over-act, Feathers."

Another double entendre- for their enemies, Crowley is sarcastically clapping for Cas finding his bones. For themselves, Crowley is applauding Cas for nailing this scene after all the rehearsals.

It is time for Cas to burn the bones. He hesitates for a moment, staring at Crowley. "Are you sure?" His eyes say. Crowley looks back at him, biting his lip. " Have faith, angel. Do it."

As Crowley performs the illusion of his painful demise, Cas never breaks character. He is, in fact, discretely observing Meg, seeing the smile on her face. He is relieved that Meg bought it, and now will report to Lucifer that Crowley is dead.

People are also surprised that Amerie forgave her like??? Sorry that Amerie has empathy???

What is truly annoying is that people are saying people are dismissing Harper's wrong doings because of her trauma. When really it's the other way around. People are dismissing her trauma because she did bad things. I find more posts and vids telling Harper off than I do sympathizing with Harper's trauma

Harper isn't a perfect victim and the show was so right to give you a victim who wasn't perfect. The message is you don't have to be a great person to be a victim

The issue isn't that people talk about Harper's fuck ups. That's fine. The issue is more there is waaaaaaaaaay more talk about Harper's fucks up than there is of the fact that she was running in fear that she might be raped and lives with a father who she has to carry a knife with her because he might kill her in a meth induced aggression psychosis. That she's literally been in an unsafe home for God knows how long

There is more talk about how Harper was a bad friend and less talk about how the fear Harper felt that night, plus being a teenager where teenagers don't have the most logical way of thinking in general can really twist your perception

To a calm person able to think clearly maybe Amerie didn't hear me. Maybe she's having sex. To a scared person running away from rapists, who is half out of it from drugs and is thinking on fight or flight, all Harper sees is her friend didn't help her "flight" and that she had to go back to her dad

Then after the events of that night Harper was too busy within her own trauma and teenage feelings to think about Amerie's side of the story

There isn't equal posts and vids of both her fuck ups and her trauma. Her fuck ups have way more posts which essentially sends the message that you aren't a victim unless you're a great person
