Importance Of Proper Dance Costumes

Now coming to the Muslim dancers, the classical dance costume includes a long skirt along with the close-fitting churidar. There are times when an overcoat is worn for the hands and a scarf or odhani is a must.

Male dancers drape their waist with a silk dhoti and a silk scarf tied up on the top.

Bharatnatyam

This famous dance form is practiced mostly in the southern part of India. Bharatnatyam is considered one of the leading dance styles across India. The attire style has been given quite a lot of thought and has been made on the lines of Tamil Nadu brides with a colorful pleated saree. A belt is also wrapped around them and has been used as an eye catchy accessory which compliments the whole attire. There are jewelleries as well for the nose, ears, head and neck. Hairs are tied with beautiful gazra and the look stands out to be exceptionally alluring. Not just this, the hands and legs are painted with red kumkum so that whenever there are finger movements or leg movements, they look more prominent and every posture looks perfect, especially to the audience. Not to mention, the ghungroos already make the entire performance happen gracefully.

For the male dancers, the costumes are quite attractive as well. Rich, skilled embroidered dhotis are worn and the upper body is bare.
