There's a whole bunch of TikTok drama at the moment after someone posted a video asking "would you rather be alone in the woods with a bear or a strange man?"
And the men are *very upset* that nearly every woman replied with "....obviously a bear."
It's honestly wild (I think some of these guys think that bears are movie monsters, craving human flesh).
But it boils down to this- they want you to expect the worst from the bear and the best from the stranger, and they are deeply offended that this isn't the case. 🤷

i cannot emphasise enough how much you need to create something. anything. it doesn't matter if you suck. you don't need to monetise it, or make it your career. you can restart an old hobby; you can start from scratch. it doesn't matter. you just need to hold something and be able to say "i did that". baking, drawing, painting, writing, coding, crafts, whatever. make something ! you cannot have all your hobbies be a form of consumption. it's fun, it's great in its own right. but the single best action to make yourself feel better, to calm your mind, to gain self esteem, is to Create

I just love that Buck's bisexual awakening was this absolute unit of a man who is even bigger than he is & is realistically probably in his 40s. Like yeah, give some love to the hunky older men, I get you Buck. I get you.

the Federation itself as a concept is so funny because the founding members are
the Vulcans, who have been friends with humanity for years but don't seem to actually like them all that much, instead regarding them with a sort of perverse fascination usually reserved for virology labs
the Andorians, who were fighting the Vulcans for like a hundred years
the Tellarites, who don't like any of these people and whose cultural trait is arguing, and
humans, whom nobody knew existed until last century when they shot themselves into space on a heavily modified nuke, invented world peace and won a fight with the nearest imperial superpower
like imagine you're the Romulan Empire and these weird monkeys who've barely figured out interstellar travel show up on your doorstep in the equivalent of a shipping container with missiles strapped to it, kick your ass in front of everybody, and then start a friendship club with 3 of your neighbours who all hated each others' guts until like a year ago. now I understand why every Romulan on the show is so angry

i know it's silly but i will always be a big fan of that thing star trek always does where like. whenever multiple ships are on screen together they're always oriented "up" the same way right? and sure that doesn't really make sense in space but it's how they shoot the scenes, whatever, not really a problem. but then where it gets really good is any time they encounter a derelict - a wrecked ship, an abandoned station, whatever - it's just kind of floating at a 45° angle off of the pov ship's orientation. and somehow that's even funnier to me than all the other shots having everything the same way up. you're on a starfleet ship and you're following a distress signal. you get to the coordinates and oh no! the ship is a bit sideways in space. must have been destroyed, cue horns.

If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.

in star wars fandom how is everything about anakin's fall always everyone else's fault except the guy who personally designed it to be a no hit run of Sith Apprentice Generator IV
