Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Session Six Recap!! 2/19/2019
The session brings us again with introductions to new people and good bye to others. Our Critical Fails heading to the opera to watch the Fall of Tiamat,  sung in Giant. During the intermission, Marvo went to Private Box C and met with Mirt, who offered him entry into the faction The Harpers. (See Handout for full information on this faction.) He accepted and was given a mission to seek out a talking horse and gain information from her. "One of the drays working in the city is pulled by a talking mare named Maxeene. Locate her, find out if she's learned the identity of any Zhent operatives, and if so, determine their whereabouts."  At the end of the show, Vjara, the Blackstaff comes to the party, with two dwarves, Torgus Hillclimber, an Eldritch Knight Fighter, and Azril Poldark, an Oath of the Ancients Paladin. Tamshu went back to theBlackstaff and claimed the party needed more "meat shields". And the couple being professionals offered up their services, to see if they could maybe find a place with this ragtag team. Inviting them back to the manor, the group heads to the manor for some rest and relaxation, which most got while Torgus raids the wine, with the help of Azril.  They head to bed and the next morning, the entire group must fend for themselves, Togus having insulted Lif and the music box that Tamshu had made for him as an apology for burning the bar top. While all were eating and discussing their activities for the day, Marvo dons his disguise with expert care. Taking on the persona of an old woman named Edith, he headed off to see a horse about a man, or woman. Several hours of travels and asking questions and eavesdropping he finds Maxeene, eating happily in her stall. She is resistant at first but then she tells him, after a bribe of an apple and the old woman persistence, about a human man and half orc woman, speaking of hiring spies to root out Xanathar Guild hideouts in the city. From her descriptions of these folk Marvo recognizes the man as Davil Starsong, and the female orc as Yagra Stonefist. (Dirge is gonna be sad.) Going to the Yawning Portal, which is where Yagra is usually found and where Maxeene dropped off the two in question, Marvo finds Mirt at the bar relaying the information. For this job, Marvo receives 1 renown for the Harpers.
During Marvo's travels the group back at home decide to explore the neighborhood once again, particularly the Book Wyrm's Treasure.  As they traveled toward the end of their street, a dressed as a commoner stands outside a small building, begins speaking angrily at the entire group. "So you're the group who bought my manor." He introduces himself as Emmek Frewn and states that Volo took the building out from under him. (He doesn't openly suggest that he hates the group, but he is hostile and adamant that Trollskull Manor was supposed to be his.) He goes on to accusing the group of taking his property and in a very aggressive manner tells them that they will not be good in their business and they will pay for taking his building. He intends to open his own inn and tavern named Frewn's Brews and although the building is smaller than Trollskull Manor, he fails to realize the goldmine he is sitting on, given he has less work to do to his place. Once he realizes he is outnumbered and his threats have crossed a line, he runs into his home and locks himself in and refuses to open up for the dwarves when they decide they want to scope out the inside of his tavern. After a bit of harassment on the dwarves part, they leave Emmek alone and head to the book store. The owner, the gold dragonborn named Rishaal the Page-Turner, delighted and kind as always greets his neighbors happily. Sylvar reminds him of his promise to search his collection of books, which he produces a large leather bound book, titled: Dragon's Lengends, Lores and Myths. He expresses that the book is old, and his only copy and that he will happily lend it to her, but she must return it and take great care with the book. Delighted she heads deeper into the shop to search for the manor's first book, choosing a gaming book called Dungeons & Dragons. Yossuck also asks about the information he requested of the shop owner and is handed a child's picture book titled: Baphomet: Demon Lord of the Minotaur. Buying the book he gives Rishaal a list of topics he would like information on, Carpentry, stone working and glassblowing.  Rishaal promises to seek out some books for him that he will have handy for him when he returns. For Dirge, he sells him a book titled: A Cleric's Guide to Saving Lives.
As the group heads out of the shop, Azril accosts an old woman as she heads west down the street, although her intentions are good and she is mainly concerned for the safety of her new found group. (I think, or hope that was it.) Unbeknownst to Azril this woman was Edith, Marvo in disguise. Once Edith convinces Azril that she is in fact a harmless old lady, Edith winks at her and mentions meeting again. During dinner back at the manor, which Lif has cleaned and prepared food for all, thanks to Renaer sending a delivery of food and drink for the group for a couple of weeks, Marvo repeats his comment to Azril with a wink. This triggers a mistrust with Azril and she decides while Marvo heads out to "tend to the cats", she is going to investigate his belongings. She enters his room, attempting to be quiet, she finds his room is now a make shift sex dungeon. She heads quickly to his bathroom, and finds the prosthetics and cloak made of the wheat and corn sacks, which confirms her suspicions that Marvo is up to something and Master of Disguises. She quickly leaves his room and heads back to her own. Once Marvo is finished with the cats he returns with 7 men, bringing them to his room and getting them settled, then donning some assless chaps, no shirt, and a Freddy Mercury stage prance, goes room to room to invite his party members to his last minute orgy. Sylvar, Azril, Torgus, Dirge andYossuck all decline as politely as possible, though he expresses his door is "open" should anyone change their minds. Loud porn music plays through the night, and those who are not involved in the sex fest, cope with it how they can.

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Session Five Recap! 2/12/2019
Returning to our game, we have said good bye to some players, hello to others and seemingly become the owners of a whole lot of pussy. On the travel to the Yawning Portal to finally sign the deed, Yossuck tells Sylvar he needs to leave, he's being summoned by Hlem leaving Dirge and Sylvar to travel and enter the enter the tavern alone to find Volo and Renaer sitting with a very loud man who seems well off (though they were never introduced to him.), an elvish woman named Remilla Haventree, who will oversee the transition of deed ownership. They also see their companion who never returned to the manor the night prior, Elias sitting there with another man, named Marvo, and a red haired elven woman, later introduced as Scarlet. Ms. Haventree explains to the group that due to their extreme turnover of members they should, to make it fair to new members and make the manor more of a group owned operation, to give the ownership a group name, so that passing by members and new people can place stock in ownership, by signing a contract with the current members of the group. Thus my wonderful group has dubbed themselves the Critical Fails. Once the paperwork is signed over, the group is hit with the reality that it will cost them almost 4,000 gold dragons (NOT THE BEAST), which Renaer offers to put in part of the cost. The group finds out that Marvo is taking over Elias's share of his manor, but doesn't give more than he wanted to as an explanation. After all is done and decided, Renaer buys a few rounds and lunch for everyone. During lunch, a gnome named Tamshu walks up to Sylvar and taunts her some before letting her know that he was given the mission to keep an eye on Meloon Wardragon as well. Looking over to where he is sitting, he is drinking heavily and talking to himself. This worries Tamshu cause he fought alongside him as a member of Force Grey and this behavior is very much unlike Meloon.   During dinner during which, Lif kindly makes for all, including the potential new member and the visiting gnome, Marvo finds a note had been slipped into his pocket at some point during the day's travels. The notes says, "Renaer tells us you're a good bet. He bought you and your friends tickets to the opera for tomorrow night, at the Lightsinger Theater. If you are interested, meet Mirt at intermission, Private Box C. Formal attire is required for all attending."  Marvo exclaims to the group they are going to see the Fall of Tiamat, and all should dress in their finest clothing. Unfortunately for most, this requires a bit of shopping. Which is decided will take place in the AM. Tamshu taking up a bedroom for the night, by Dirge's room, and Scarlet slipping away in the middle of the night. The next morning Lif finds a gift from Tamshu with an apology for burning the bartop the night prior. (How sweet.) The next morning awakes to the group, except Dirge heading to the market, looking for a tailor and seamstress, Sylvar finds a suitable gown, and Marvo and Tamshu are suited in proper dress for the occasion. Once all is purchased they again head back to their manor and decide it is time to explore the alley and meet their neighbors. Going from building to building they meet their neighbors and find out the interesting business that each of them keep. They find a woodworker at the Bent Nail, run by Tally Fellbranch, a male half elf.  His business offers, wooden weapons, shields, furniture and wood sculptures. Next they walked by Steam and Steal which was sadly closed, though the signs boasts that the owners are both elemental genasi, one named Embric, a fire genasi, and Avi a water genasi. Both proudly display they are members of of the Most Careful Order of Skilled Smiths and Metalforgers, and Avi belongs to the Splendid Order of Armorers, Locksmiths, and Finesmiths. Their services are offered to all seeking metal weapons, armor, and shields. (All price to match the PHB). Sylvar then travels over to a shop that has a greenhouse on the roof. The Corellon's Crown, offers many nonmagical herbal remedies as well as a limited list of magic potions. (See DM for list of potions and prices.) Past the middle of the alley, a small building reveals a private eye service, run by a human dressed in sharp clothing named, Vincent Trench. He smokes and slim pipe and has a sharp eye for small details, letting the group know if they need information, a payment of 50 gp would get them what they wanna know. Though his service isn't required, at least not yet, the party introduces themselves and move along to the final business, a book store. The sign calls the business, Book Wyrm's Treasures, it is run by a jovial golden ancestry dragonborn named Rishaal the Page-Turner,  who offers the players a large selection of books and promises to find anything he can for them in his vast collection. As evening begins to descend on the party all those attending the opera head home to dress and be on their way for a lavish night on the town! How will the players fare at the opera, will they enjoy it? Will Marvo meet Mirt and see what kind of bet he was referring to? Find out next week!

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Session Four recap! 2/5/2019
Our newest session brings us to the Haughty Heroes heading off to Trollskull Alley, to see their potential new home, Trollskull Manor. They reach the manor, and enter, and are sweetly greeted with a disembodied "Get Out!", though the heroes don't leave. In floats Lif, the lovable prankster ghost of the manor. Though Lif isn't supposed to be able to speak or interact vocally with the players, he does. And boy is he a pain in the ass. Lif blocking off the room by throwing things at the players. Elias scales the building to reach a second-story porch. During his climb, Lif decides to try and keep him from reaching his destination by screaming, "BOO!!" at him. Elias succeeds in his climb and reaches the second floor. The party spends a little while, exploring and cleaning, being accosted by the ghost over and over again. Though he is annoying, he is harmless. Dirge and Elias do not like it at all. Dirge threatens him with a cantrip, while Elias quietly slips out and seeks the help of an exorcist, or diviner. Being the amazing DM I am I make this difficult for him. It was decided that Elias could not find help easily or cheaply. ;) While the remaining members of the party make it known to Lif, that if he behaves (to an extent) that he is willing to behave if they restore the manor to its former glory. The group agrees and much to their surprise, Lif becomes very helpful. Providing drink and food, pulling out chairs and helping the party clean the disarray within the building. Elias not having returned the group decides to choose their rooms and settle in for the night, deciding to meet Volo the next morning in the Yawning Portal to change over the deed to the group. Yossuck wakes in the AM with a start and feels as if something is off, and tells Sylvar as much. Little did he know that across town, Elias was what was wrong.... DUN DUN DAAAA~~

Waterdeep Dragon Heist Session 3 Recap!! 1-29-2019
So we find out heroes gathered once again at the Yawning Portal. Having gone to collect some of their supplies they collect their things and head down to the sewers. Travelling through the dark and smelly tunnels, almost knee deep in the waste of the residents of the Dock Ward, our friends find themselves travelling by a guide of sorts.  A symbol resembling a sun, chalked into the walls of certain tunnels. But is it a trap? Do these assholes care? The answer is most likely and probably not. So after what seems like forever running through shit and piss, my victims, I means.. sorry the adventurers, come to a pitchfork in the road, if you may. Three tunnels stand before them, two leading to gods know where, and one to a ladder, that they could crawl up back into the surface and live another day!! Before they can choose, they find a gazer (XP earned), well, gazing at them. It attempts to eye ray a few, while biting at others. It clearly wasn't beefed up enough and I should have put a full on beholder in their path, cause they dispatched that sorry SOB in mere minutes.  (Good thing I didn't actually prepare the module you guys!)
Deciding to continue to follow the symbol, they came to the "hub" of the sewer system. Attempting to be stealthy all succeeding, except Sylvarwho complained, quite loudly of the stench and dinge of the tunnels. Nothing attacked immediately. Dirge, barged through a door leading to "cleaner" tunnels that look like they were made for traveling to a "secret hideout", (Shhh.. its secret.) An arrow comes flying into the room through a small slit in the wall. Due to his surprise the goblin (XP earned) gets off a free shot and rolls a critical, hitting and killing Dirge instantly!! Wait. That isn't right. Sorry wishful thinking. The goblin rolls critical and the arrow hits Dirge, alerting the rest of the party to the presence of enemy. Dirge being of a higher intelligence for a half-orc, moves to the door of the small room, and slips through, readying himself for the epic battle with a measly goblin. (Queue eye roll.) A few people take a hit, but the goblin is no match for the Mighty Morons and he is downed. Continuing on through the "dungeon" the heroes come to a room where a dwarf and human are arguing, but again, they aren't very stealthy and again, first blood is drawn by the enemy with a surprise attack. A javelin embedded in the shoulder of Yossuck. Another battle ensues, the dwarf turning out to be more than what he seemed, as a duegar named Zemk (XP earned) he grows in size and he laughs and fights valiantly against the tiny heroes, along side a wimpy human bandit, Krentz (XP earned), who Dirge recognizes as the bandit,  who beat up him love interest Yagra. Dirgekills and beheads the bandit, vowing to gift it to her as vengeance for his ungentlemanly behavior. (I think Sylvar was going to suggest flowers, but nothing makes a beastly half-orc wet, like severed human limbs and extremities. MMMF...)
Once the dwarf and the bandit are downed (cause let face it, its set up to happen that way.) Dirge attempts to open a door to a room, which leads to battle of the gray ooze (XP earned). Elias, who is exhausted, has thus far done no more than hide and search for traps, throws a dagger into the acidic ooze, which he leaves once the battle has ended. (Note: need better stats for an ooze. Want to ruin these players!!) Elias slips through the door south of the ooze room, and hears voices, though they aren't coherent, it doesn't sound like its a happy ladies' tea party. Slipping down the tunnel, all again are stealthy except Sylvar, who is STILL complaining about how bad it smells. I mean its a sewer, what did she expect? Eliassteps into view, not trying to hesitate of get caught in the hall by a bad guy, waves to inhabitants of the filthy room. In the middle of the room lying beaten and bleeding is man fitting the description of Floon, standing over him with hate in his eyes and flame in his hand, is a half-orc warrior, named Grum'shar. Across the room by a throne type seating is a nasty looking creature, who Elias recalls is a mind flayer (partial XP earned), affectionately petting a brain (We call these brain puppies...and if they weren't trying to eat the intellect from my head, I would own 100 of them!!)  Elias, seeing that Floon looks near death, he attempts to reason, and then barter with the enemy, telling them that they were accompanied by the person the Xanathar Guild was really looking for. Fearing he would get in trouble with his higher ups, though her falters and questions himself a moment, refuses to believe that he screwed up and had the wrong man. In the back of the line, Renaer is fighting to be front and center upon hearing that Floon is here and in no condition to fight. No one lets him pass. (Assholes)  The mind flayer moves toward them, as does the brain that seems to have legs. It attacked and attempts to devour the mind of Dirge. Sadly it fails. (cause lets face, a half-orc with 0 intelligence would have been EFFING hilarious. Maybe next time.) The attack on the players is taken a little hard, though the mind flayer being a coward, casts and runs. Leaving the intelliect devourer (XP earned you animals killing that cute brain puppy) to his own device, and eventually his own demise. The half-orc puts up a small fight, but he is still an apprentice and was really no match for this group. (He was a oversized weakling don't commend yourselves too hard!)
Once the enemies are dispatched the Mighty Morons swoop in and heal Floon, returning him and Renaer to the Yawning Portal. Upon arrival, they are greeted as heroes and Renaer shows his appreciation by paying for their room and board and dinner and drinks as well as a festive celebration, mostly attended by Floon, Renaer and Volo. Speaking of Volo, he promised you payment, shamelessly telling you he does not have the gold to compensate you, he offers what he feels may be a better reward. The deed to Trollskull Manor. You all agree the deed is not fraudulent, and will take a look at the place before deciding if you will accept it as your payment.
Dirge, although it was tattled on him, reveals his gift to Yagra, and they head on out of the tavern, to the approval of Durnan (Someone tattled!!)  to play Beat the Bandit's head, in the side alley by the bar. Overjoyed with the attentions he received from Yagra, he isn't in the least bit upset when after a few hours of this amusing, yet disgusting activity, she throws the head in the trash. Joining them at the group table after a few rounds of arm wrestling, where she actually lost to Dirge, it seems this happy little couple might work out after all. Aww.
Yossuck deciding he'd not checked in with his teacher in too long, heads to the mountains to speak to Hlem and give him information on how he's put his training to use. Before leaving, Yossuck receives a message from the Blackstaff herself. The message reads in his mind as a spell, called sending. "I am Vajra Safahr, the Blackstaff, go to Hlem in the mountains and ask him about threats on the city that he may have heard. Return to be with everyone from your group and do not wear out your welcome." Yossuck obliges, knowing to turn down the Blackstaffwould not be beneficial and he was already setting off to see Hlem. Once there he speaks to his Master, asking him the Blackstaff's request. His reply is vague and obscure, but Yossuck doesn't dare ask for further information, Vajra will decipher this information how she must as it isn't his issue...yet.
Once he returns to the group it seems the party was already full swing and winding down. All the members of his group were seemingly heading off to bed. After a full night's rest for all, and baths for most, the group convenes at their table, eating breakfast it is decided that they will all go to the Manor and examine the house. And Yossuck is reminded by Bonnie, on their way, they should stop by Blackstaff Tower. A carriage is paid for for them to head out, and they journey to see Vajra. Sylvar, having lived in the tower all her life leads the group to a room where Vajra enters, warmly greeting them and asking of Hlem's reply to her question. Yossuck tells her, "Evil's twin hides its face for now. Expect that to change before winter's end." She doesn't tell you all much of that meaning, but offers you all entry into the faction of the Grey Hands, giving you all one renown for your efforts in saving Renaer and Floon, and seeking out Hlem. Elias refuses, despite the benefits of having Vajra as his employer and accepts that although he may do work for her in the future, she can not help him out as should would those officially employed. Bidding all of them farewell, she hold Sylvar behind to discuss her own personal matters with her.
Sylvar was sent to observe and keep and eye on Meloon Wardragon, a former member of Force Grey who has been seemingly acting out of sorts. Sylvar relays the information that he is quite strange lately, keeping to himself more often than not and drinking much heavier than he used to. Vajra commends Sylvar on her first mission and asks her to maintain her look out of their friends. She also gives Sylvar the ability to use the sending spell, to contact Vajra for help or to relay a message to her once a day.
We leave the party at their journey to their potential new home, Trollskull Manor....
Will the group accept the manor as payment, or will they hate it and see it as more of a burden than they are willing to take on?

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Session 2 recap!! - 1/22/2019
How the party becomes "Team Can't Flirt For Shit."
Note to players: Kymani (Cricket/Angelo/OG) is stepping back from his commitment to the game, I think I speak for everyone in the group when I say, I hope all works out for you and you can find yourself able to return back to the group when things settle down.
We find ourselves back in Waterdeep, the party of fool..erm heroes have now raided the warehouse of all the trash. Yossuck, has found a tiny treasure in the form of a paper bird, but he doesn't share the information about his findings with any of the party. Dirge, oh Dirge... He bravely opens doors and plummets to the ground. Of course taking damage, which was decidedly that his pig like orc nose now looks human, and it is a distasteful look to the dreamy Yagra. As the party is raiding the warehouse, footsteps can be heard outside, entering into the dark building is the Captain of the City Watch for the Dock Ward of Waterdeep, (Say that fast 3 times.) Captain Hyustus Staget (damn right I didn't tell you his first name, I wasn't even trying to pronounce his name.). Elias, ever the kidder and always seeming to find himself on the wrong side of the law, attempts and fails to hide from the Captain. He is called out, while Staget recognizes the nobleman they have just rescued. Renaer covers for them, not that it was necessary since it was a factual situation. Staget lets you all off with a warning to let the City Watch handle the crimes, though hints heavily that what happens in the sewers, isn't his job to handle. Wink wink, nudge nudge.
Escorting Renaer home, the party, begrudgingly to Elias follow the main well lit streets, though the DM does have to remind our favorite rogue that Renaer just spent 48 hours in a darkened closet, after being bopped on the head and dragged thorugh town, which had he been conscious, unwillingly. He pays the party with a bag of gold dragons. (Again the currency, not the beasts) Totaling 255, (or broken down 51 dragons per player) as a thank you and to cover the cost of room and board at the Yawning Portal while they search for Floon. Yeah, remember him? He was their original quest, still on.
So returning to the Yawning Portal, the party is accosted by a very inebriated Volo. He's beside himself with grief and feels even more terrible to find that although they didn't find Floon, they did find Renaer, who no one even knew was missing. After sharing a drink and some kinda nice words to calm his angst, Volo scurries off to his own section of the tavern to abuse his liver further.
Now here is where it gets interesting...... >.>   <.< Sylvar has caught the attention of our dexterous monk.. though we find that his friendly advice isn't as smooth as the punches he throws. Her mysterious behavior and sweet innocence, to some might be an act, but for this young elf she knows no better, and Yossuck tries hard to explain this without trying to come off as ...a come on? She of course takes it harder than a dick, and storms off anger and hurt and confused. Door slam number one... In the meantime, poor Dirge, attempting to get Yagra's attention fails heavily and is headed off to bed with a wish in his heart. Sleeping in a straw pile, with a wood panel to separate them, Dirge is forced to listen to his love's deep snoring, and bask in the glory of her fumes eu Flatulence. Suffice it to say, he has trouble sleeping on his stomach through the night. ;)
Dawn brings on a new day, and a whole new set of issues, continuing with Dirge, he asks Bonnie, the barmaid for advice on how to rope Yagra's attention. Upon Bonnie's suggestion, he sends Yagra the biggest container of Stout. To which Dirge receives his first food encrusted, greasy faced smile from Yagra. (You go Glenn Co-Co!!). Some applause, and a bucket for me to throw up in... Thanks.
Yossuck, having received his breakfast in bed, finds a note from Bonnie, with a tiny potted plant, urging him to give a gift with his apology to Sylvar. Heading off to her room, he knocks and politely asks for a moment of her time. She, after scurrying to cover her freshly cleaned body up, to hide her secret, she expresses her sadness for his words that she misunderstood. He stumbles over his apology. They come to the understanding that he did not mean his words how her brain had taken them. He offers her the plant Bonnie offered him, to which in her excitement, Sylvar reached out with her hand covered in scales to accept. Realizing immediately her mistake, she pulled her hand back and slammed the door in his face, expressing that he needed to go away. He caught a glimpse of her hand and realized that the scales must be part of her secret and although was still confused as to her quick change in demeanor walked back down to the dining room, defeated and mildly confused.
Elias having heard all of the exchange, though hadn't seen the details of the situation, he headed down stairs looking quite disheveled and sleep deprived. Not catching Sylvar reaching out to grab the gift left at her door. Elias arrives with the rest of the members of his group whom have wakened and made their way down to the tavern area, still in though as to how to navigate the sewers, which seems to be their only lead to Floon's possible whereabouts. He shifts through his maps at the table making no real effort to engage in the drama of desires the other men have seemed to found themselves in.
Renaer enters the tavern as Sylvar comes to join the group, Bonnie, ever the meddler removes all but one seat for Sylvar, having placed her breakfast beside Yossuck, forcing her to either be blatantly rude in front of all the seeing eyes, which wouldn't do for a girl of her mannerism, or take a seat embarrassing next to Yossuck.  Deciding manners over pride, she takes a seat and focuses heavily on her meal before her. At which time Bonnie comes over and returns the extra chairs, to give Renaer a place to sit.
We interrupt this recap to bring you a special announcement..
And now for the explanation of Kymani's sudden disappearance from the party for good...I mean now......
Kymani (who has been silent and MIA mentally most of this journey since the previous combat) takes a seat with his party, but quickly after inhaling his breakfast, heads off to find his friend Obaya, and doesn't return to the group again, allowing his new found friends to forget he existed. So sad...
And scene, and back to our committed player...
Elias explains his potential findings to those listening in the group (i think he did at least.) Which means a journey to the sewers. WOOOH!!! Can't wait to smell you all when you return!
Yossuck deciding that he needed some provisions before they descend to the depths of Waterdeep's sewer and asks Sylvar if she would accompany him to the Market. Elias speaks up that he's like to go, but Yossuck, desperate to make things right with the pretty elf, shoots Elias a look, pleading that he shut the hell up and instead Elias hands over some dragons asking him to pick him up a few vials of healing potion. Hearing this, Dirge asks for the same, and without any more requests, Yossuck and Sylvar head off in a carriage to the Market. Retirieving their items they need, they converse and seem to come to a better understanding between them, the heated misunderstanding forgotten and a friendship, (maybe more, wink wink) is forged.
The party will start with their exit from the Yawning Portal, where they will head to the South Ward and travel through the sewers, hoping to find Floon and potentially stop an enemy of the magnificent City of Splendors!!!

Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Session 1 recap - 1/15/2019
The season is spring and the setting is the City of Splendor, Waterdeep. We find ourselves entering the Yawning Portal, a famous tavern built over the entrance of a well, which leads down into Undermountain. We'll come back to that in a bit though. Entering the Tavern is a lovely half-elf named Sylvar. She enters with a cloaked wrapped tightly around her lithe frame. Is she hiding something? We shall see...She looks around for someone, but doesn't seem to search hard, or possibly can't find whom she is looking for. She is nervous and looks extremely out of place, but that is only to me, the DM who will set up her story and potentially her demise at a later date.  Following her as she takes a seat, at the only table made available to our unlikely group of heroes is Elias, a young male half-elf with mischievous intent in his eyes. He receives a lukewarm almost disdainful welcome from Durnan, the proprietor of the renowned Yawning Portal. Elias is warned by Bonnie to behave while she chastises him for getting the barkeep riled up with his presence. Elias unphased and amused, orders a drink and takes a seat at the back of the tavern, away from the large crowd, though ever aware of his surroundings. As he settles in and is brought his drink a large half-orc (all you interbred motherfuckers.) enters the tavern. He's no stranger to his surroundings, and his love struck eyes fall on Yagra Stonefist, a roughneck half-orc female, who's brutality and manhandling has earned her the attentions and affections of Dirge.  Dirge takes a seat at Bonnie's insistent that he occupy the table with the lonely half-elf. He orders a drink and watches Yagra arm wrestle a few of the hulking bandits seated at her table, with stars in his eyes. Panning the camera no one is holding to the entrance yet again, and you find yourself looking at a bruised up hill dwarf named Yossuck, returning to the tavern after a long days training with Hlam the eccentric monk in the mountains. Yes, you heard me, a hill dwarf monk.. weird I know. He moves with sore muscles straight to the bar and requests a drink. Durnan points over to a table and shoves a tankard of ale at the dwarf grunting about taking a seat and glaring at the pack of bandits who have become even rowdier with the third arm wrestle loss. Suddenly everyone hears the song, "Under the Sea" as Sebastian the crab enters... Sorry, scratch that. Kymani, an islander who sounds like the crab from my favorite Disney movie, enters the tavern. Loudly greeting anyone who wants to listen, (Psst which was no one.) asking a few unhelpful patrons if they've seen his friend, Obaya Uday, to which most just look at him as if he were shit that they stepped on. (people are so racist and rude) He is greeted by Bonnie who is flustered but seemed to have it all under control, as she is running around taking orders and serving as fast as her legs will carry her. She points to a table and scurries off with a promise of return and a look of distressed confusion, he takes his seat, and it seems as though the properly planted single table that was the only place for our random adventurers who never met before or knew one another were forced to sit together. As conversations fly between them all, Elias joins the group, offering overpriced tour guiding. Once everything seemed settled, there was an outburst from the back of the tavern, the group of rowdy bandits were now trying to fight the large half orc woman. She managed to knock two of them out, but eventually the remaining four overpowered her. She was knocked out, but not before several members of this mismatched heroes get a few hits in, though sadly for Dirge, Yagra missed his heroic smash of one of her enemies. During this epic battle for first level players... Elias pickpockets the distracted customers of the Yawning Portal. Lucky for him Durnan wasn't paying him any mind though in hindsight, he should have been for his patrons' sake.  Once Yagra falls, Durnan breaks up the fight, sending the remaining bandits scampering out the door. While everyone is helping make the knocked out Yagra comfortable, there is another catastrophe to deal with. Durnan yells out, "TROLL (earned XP)!!" and once again our heroes are put into a combat situation. They fight hard, though let's face it Durnanwrecked the troll with his 4 hits on the beast and a  cocktail of oil and flame. Though there was an explosion of stirges (earned XP), who tried to drain the party members. Durnan giving the group his thanks, though the tavern was filled with more suitable warriors who could have handled the troll with more finesse, (silly DMing done weirdly wrong and right) this group were the champs of the night. As they celebrated their victory over free drink and food for the night, they are approached by a man, who calls himself Volo. Members of the party don't bother to pick their own brains to see if they remember who he is, what he's "famous" for. He sits with them, enjoying their free drinks and food, and offers them payment for a little help. He hands them each 10 gold dragons (coins not the beasts) and tells them with a job well done, he'd pay them 10 times each what he had given them if they will help him find his friend Floon Blagmaar, who has disappeared a couple nights back, and he fears the worst of his friend, and for his safety. After a while of insights and shit talking, the party agrees to band together and find this Floon character. Heading off to the Skewered Dragon, in a seedy area of the seedy dock ward, they enter the new scene which is not impressive at all, and are quickly taken advantage of by the greedy and desperate proprietor of this establishment. He extorts them heavily for the little information he knows, which for the most part isn't helpful aside from the fact that after Volo left Floon that night, another man joined him for a few more drinks and they left together. The new man's name being Renaer Neverember (I can never remember.), who is the son of the previous Open Lord, Nagault Neverember.  A smarter, maybe nicer man sitting at a table, taking a smaller fee (at this point you all have paid among yourselves 20 dragons.) offers up that he watched Floon and Renaer leave together, and were followed by a couple of men who in other areas would be bad, but fit in nicely with the dark and bad-ass theme of this bar which is called for to progress the story. Sent to Candle Lane, to look for a door with a flying snake on it. The group enters the yard of the warehouse and making plenty of noise, and shedding tons of light because of their weak ass human member with no dark vision, they are once more tonight set up in combat. Fighting four kenku (earned XP), who leave them with a parting exclaim, "Xanathar sends it's regards." (So do the Lanasters, bitch!) the group basically raids the warehouse which is packed with trash, or at least as far as the searching eyes have found so far. Sylvar finds a door, and inside the tiny closet, they find, not the man they are seeking but his friend, Renear. He accounts a similar story of drinking and leaving the tavern, he was hit over the head and has spent a couple days in the dark. He expresses to the group that he fears that they may have mistaken Floon for him, and that they seek the fortune Renaer's father had embezzled and hid away somewhere in Waterdeep. Renaer makes a claim that he doesn't know anything about the truth of the gold's hiding place but seems to gather his courage and offers to help find his friend, possibly out of guilt or friendship, who knows now. And that my friends is where we have been left off for the session.
