Add some Magic to your celebration
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Want to add some magic to your celebration during your next trip to Walt Disney World?  Most visitors to Walt Disney World are familiar with the buttons you can pick up throughout the resort, but did you know that Walt Disney World can take your celebration to infinity and beyond? Over the years, I've spent many birthdays and anniversaries at Walt Disney World and have been surprised by birthday messages written in chocolate on my dessert plate, a personalized menu at a restaurant, and even a special touch added to my resort room by "mousekeeping" just because I mentioned what I was celebrating  when I made the reservation.   Known for their world class service, Disney Cast members really do try to make your visit as personal and magical as they can.  You just never know what you can expect! There is so much that goes into planning that perfect trip and Disney Floral & Gifts offers some finishing touches that can make your trip just a little more magical.  From customizing your own in room celebration to purchasing their celebration gift baskets, you are sure to find what you're looking for to add just the right touch of magic to your celebration!  Oh, and they can deliver and set up your special surprise to your room while you're out at the parks or at Disney Springs - it's like having your own Fairy Godmother! Just a small word to the wise though, if you haven't been assigned a room yet, it won't be delivered and set up for your arrival.  I know, it's sounds silly to give this warning, but in researching reviews on Disney Floral & Gifts, I found that many people didn't understand (or possibly ask) how to pull this off successfully.  You'll want to discuss this with a Disney Dream Maker to plan in-room celebration surprises.  Make sure to visit the FAQs on the Disney Floral & Gifts page. Customizing your special gift begins by choosing your basket or tray (starting at $24.99) and then adding items that personalize it for you.  Mugs and glasses start at $12.99, plush at $19.99 and if you want snacks, you can add them starting as low as $3.99.  There are even vegan, gluten free, sugar free and peanut free offerings starting at $19.99 for those with food allergies or special dietary needs. Celebrating your first visit ever?  There's a really cool basket for that called Wonderful World of Disney (starting at $125 and pictured below) that includes a Mickey themed tote, autograph book and pen, hip pack camera bag, Hidden Mickey book, Mickey Ears, Mickey pin starter set, snacks and best of all (in my opinion) Mickey Vision Glasses; designed literally to give you a special view of the fireworks!
Tumblr media
Oh, and how cute is this Mickey's Poolside Magic gift basket?
Tumblr media
Perfect for a day at the water parks or any poolside day, it comes complete with a Mickey Icon tote, 2 Castle icon water bottles and 2 beach towels.  This one starts at $125, for a little more, you can personalize it or add a few snacks by choosing Create Your Gift. There are floral and balloon bouquets, you can shop by character or by occasion and make your trip so much more memorable! I dare to say, if you can dream it, they can do it! I have had friends who have done some DIY celebrations, but they admitted in the end, they would've gotten better quality items for the same amount and saved themselves a lot of time if they had just turned it over to the experts. No one does magic quite like Disney, right?  I think there are some great options here that you can enjoy during your trip and possibly send you home with a lasting keepsake as well!  How's that for a win-win? New Ink and Paint Collection available at Mouse Gear!
Tumblr media
You can now find the beautiful Ink and Paint merchandise collection at Mouse Gear in EPCOT.  With only a few days until the EPCOT Festival of the Arts concludes on February 24, now you can shop for the Ink and Paint collection. And what is this new merchandise? Well, you can find several items in the Ink and Paint assortment.  However, there are three “styles” in this collection. The first design includes brushes of paint with differ#ent characters on it in leggings, t-shirts, sweatshirts, a backpack and kitchenware. The second style has other items in the collection that are in black and white and include markers so you can color them yourself or build and color them.  In this second style of the Ink and Paint collection, you can find backpacks, t-shirts and 3D wood models of Sorcerer Mickey, Pinocchio, and Dumbo. These would be a nice gift to entertain kids and adults alike. There is also a plain white/cream Mickey plush that comes with markers which would be perfect to get autographs on.  If you decide to do this, use permanent markers like sharpies and not the washable kind included with the Mickey plush. Finally, the third type of items, specifically in the houseware department, have individual pictures of characters or groups of characters in bright colors.  For this part of the Ink and Paint collection, there are dishes, napkins, cups, and bowls. The napkin rings are especially cute and are silver palettes with different paint colors on them. Prices for the Ink and Paint collection vary depending on the item.  The t-shirts and leggings are $24.99, the napkin rings are $7.99, the Mickey plush is $39.99 and the character backpack is $29.99. Other items in the Ink and Paint collection worth noting are an art set with carrying case, markers, color pencils, scissors and stencils, a tumbler, and the Minnie ears with paintbrushes and a palette instead of a bow and the multicolor, character design on the ears. Besides the beautiful Ink and Paint collection, there is a lot of Sorcerer Mickey merchandise in Mouse Gear as well.  It interesting since Sorcerer Mickey and Fantasia don’t get enough love.  You can find a Loungefly backpack of Sorcerer Mickey for $80 – it’s super cute! Also, they have a tote of a large Sorcerer Mickey in the middle with the Ink and Paint background of colors and characters for $39.99.  There are also, Sorcerer Mickey/Fantasia t-shirts for $36.99, Sorcerer Mickey socks at two pairs for $11 and small plush, mystery color, Sorcerer Mickeys as part of the Ink and Paint collection. Not sure how long the Ink and Paint merchandise will be available or if it connected to the Festival of the Arts, but if you see the pictures and like Sorcerer Mickey, you better hurry to EPCOT and Mouse Gear to get it before it is gone. 14 Romantic Photo Ops at Disney World
Tumblr media
With engagement season coming to a close, many couples are heading to the Happiest Place on Earth to experience the magic of their favorite movies. It’s the perfect place to capture romantic photo ops in front of the castle, revisit classic stories from your childhood, and let the world know you are ready to spend the rest of your life with that special someone. With stunning backdrops and the ever-present feeling of nostalgia, it’s no wonder Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is one of the most popular locations for proposals in the United States. Even more, a trip to Disney with your significant other is about being yourself and building your unique fairytale romance. Part of that experience is deciding on the most memorable photo spots to showcase your relationship. Whether it’s about revealing common interests, immortalizing where you first met, or creating your very own love story, the perfect venue comes from finding something that represents you as a couple. Below are 14 dreamy picture opportunities for couples to enjoy throughout Disney World Parks and Resorts all year long. Table of Contents 1. Port Orleans Magical Photo Spots One of my favorite resorts to stay at is Disney’s Port Orleans. Staying here, no matter which side you choose, is like getting two fantastic locations for the price of one. The food alone at Port Orleans French Quarter is enough to make the mouth water, especially with menu items like Mickey-shaped beignets, Jambalaya, and Crawfish Étouffée. Toss in the wrought-iron balconies and gates lined with gas lamps, along with all the excitement of Mardi Gras, and it's your very own dream come true.
Tumblr media
Photo by Victoria Smith Add to the magic by dressing up as your favorite Princess and the Frog characters, like Victoria Smith and her very own Prince Naveen. While they are on their way to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in this photo, dressing up at Disney is always a great way to start a photoshoot.  See more of Victoria's photos here!

Engagement Photos taken by Nathan Root Photography What really sells the magic is the quaint splendor of Riverside. With a stunning backdrop of the Sassagoula River, lush greenery, and architecture set in the style of stately Southern mansions, this side of the resort has plenty to offer in terms of picturesque beauty. To see more of Lindsay and Cody’s lovely engagement photos taken by Nathan Root at Riverside, visit her Instagram. 2. Epcot: Spaceship Earth Photo Op for Couples The most recognizable part of Disney’s Epcot, the Spaceship Earth globe, is not something many think of as romantic right away. However, the origins of the park, and what the icon stands for, are undeniably similar to aspirations as a couple. The park itself initially aimed at being a fully functioning community where innovation and progress thrived.

Stephen and Emily Mildner: Photo Taken by Randy Chapman Today, Epcot still stands as a beacon of creativity, forward-thinking, and inspires a love for the earth and all those who inhabit it. An engineering marvel, the Spaceship Earth ride and the globe many affectionally call a “golf ball” are a striking example of all that Epcot embodies. Imagination meeting compassion and striving toward a better tomorrow, who doesn’t want that?
Tumblr media
Ellen and Joshua Smock at Disney's Epcot 3. Animal Kingdom: Tree of Life Legend has it that the Tree of Life grew from a seed planted by an ant. This tiny insect wanted nothing more than to bring shelter to all the animals in a barren land. His wish for the tree to grow came true, and the images of every animal the baobab tree harbored soon materialized on its trunk. The legend is just a glimpse of the magic and natural wonder we feel when faced with a marvel like the Tree of Life. While we know this tale to be the work of some of the best storytellers in the industry, its theme of wishes, growth, and life are all very real images. And what better scenery is there for couples than a symbol of unity and family?

Tumblr media
Danielle Kendrick and Randy Scudder at Disney's Animal Kingdom The great thing about the Tree of Life is that there are plenty of different places to pose for the ideal snapshot. Below are some of the best places to start. In Front of the Tree: This is the obvious choice. Though whether you take the photo right at the base of the tree or far enough to catch the bustling mercantile shops in the shot is up to you. Walking Trails: There are numerous walking trails winding around the tree, all of which offer an up-close view of the intricate details on the tree’s trunk. You won’t get the full view, but it’s a unique perspective on a beautiful architectural piece.
Tumblr media
Stefanie and Daniel Gutierrez III in front of the Tree of Life at Disney's Animal Kingdom  Pathway Between Africa and Asia: When passing between the two continents, a fantastic view of the tree emerges across the river. Not only does this viewpoint come with a PhotoPass photographer willing to take your photo, but you get to see a whole new set of animals carved into the trunk, as well. Nighttime “Awakenings” Show: If you stay at Animal Kingdom long enough, then the opportunity to see the “Awakenings” light show on the tree is one you can’t pass up. Gorgeous streams of color illuminate the park icon, bringing to life the spirits of playful animals who inhabit the tree and enact fun, little stories for guests to enjoy.

Magic Kingdom: Fantasyland Princess Locations The expansion of Fantasyland back in 2012 brought a whole new assortment of magical photo spots with the addition of beloved Disney princess scenes. Among these enchanting locales is Prince Eric’s Castle from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, as well as Gaston’s Tavern and Beast’s Castle from Beauty and the Beast. All are a great way to dive into the story of some of Disney’s most celebrated classics with your very own princess or Prince Charming. You can also spice things up with adorable “His & Her” t-shirts or costumes.

Especially if you are celebrating an engagement, these characters are more than happy to make your experience a magical one. Depending on the crowds, the princesses are a fun way to interact with storybook characters, take fun engagement poses, and receive personalized signatures to commemorate the occasion.

Hollywood Studios: Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in Florida last year and has been a frequent location for tourists and locals alike. There are numerous photo locations for couples that allow them to step into one of their favorite movie franchises, including the famous shot with the Millennium Falcon outside of Smuggler’s Run.

Cody Simmons and Sarah Newman outside Smuggler's Run at Hollywood Studios One of the best things about finding that special someone to share your life with is having someone who also shares your interests. If you’ve found someone who loves Baby Yoda as much as you do, they’re a keeper. When you tell them, “I love you,” do they respond with “I know?” You’ve found the one! So feel free to geek out as much as you want in a location that represents something you both love. And even if your significant other doesn’t quite understand why everyone keeps saying “Bright Suns,” then this is still the perfect opportunity to share something you love with them. Until then, may the spires keep you.

While many newlyweds immediately think of places like the Grand Floridian or Disney’s Polynesian, the Yacht & Beach Club provides just as many lovely picture opportunities for couples who love the appeal of the seaside. Modeled after New England retreats like Martha’s Vineyard and Cape May, the resort is a romantic getaway complete with elegant lighthouses, a stunning pier, and a view of the beach. While barricades and ropes now line the rim of the lagoon, it’s still an excellent backdrop for those wanting a taste of coastal charm.

Disney Duo Character Photos for Couples While we already talked about posing with the Disney princesses for a fun photo excursion, another great way to bring character to your social media posts is by posing with popular duos. Characters like Anastasia and Drizella, Cinderella’s stepsisters, capitalize on magical moments with their hilarious take on…well, everything! Other character meet-and-greets like Mickey and Minnie are a great way to illustrate the sweet side of your relationship.
Tumblr media
Cody Simmons and Sarah Newman at Adventurer's Outpost While Toy Story characters Woody and Buzz no longer do meet-and-greets together, Woody now greets guests with his love interest, Bo Peep. Some other fun character duos to meet throughout the parks are listed below. This island-themed getaway is brimming with romantic photo ops. Think volcano pools with cascading waterfalls, colorful and exotic landscaping, and lazy beaches with hammocks and swings galore. There’s even a spectacular view of the castle and a great location to watch fireworks at night. Plus, cast members distribute free leis to guests at check-in, as well as to those dining at Disney’s Spirit of Aloha dinner show. So slipping seamlessly into the feel of a Hawaiian vacation is a breeze.

Kona Island: Serves pastries and coffee for breakfast, and made-to-order sushi in the afternoon. Oasis Bar & Grill: A lunch and bar service that serves fare from burgers to salads. ‘Ohana: Offers character breakfasts with Lilo and Stitch, and Hawaiian style dinners with fun, themed activities for dinner. Pineapple Lanai: A great place to get the famous Dole Whip! Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show: A dining experience complete with hula dancers and fire dancing. Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace: A great place to enjoy live music while you sit back and enjoy your tasty beverages.

Magic Kingdom: Rapunzel Lanterns Fairytale Photos One of the most mesmerizing moments in a Disney movie is the floating lantern ceremony in Tangled. Not only is it visually dazzling to watch all those glowing lights soar off into the night sky, but it’s a touching scene where Flynn Rider and Rapunzel realize they’ve fallen in love with one another. Right outside Rapunzel’s Tower in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland, guests recreate this same magical experience with a lantern of their own. These fairytale photos allow couples to step into the beauty of their own love story and “see the light” in a whole new way.

Epcot: World Showcase Imagine sharing a baguette with your favorite person in front of the fountain in France, a magnificent view of the Eiffel Tower poised behind you. Nothing captures this timeless feeling more than the replica of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Many of you may recognize this architectural treasure as the home of the late Great Movie Ride. The most frequently booked wedding location at the park, the site is designed to celebrate your special day in style.

Couple Enjoying a Stroll Down Walkway Outside Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion According to Disney’s website, the cost is $5,000 for the venue alone, with a $10,000 minimum for the event. All of this is nothing compared to the $30,000 wedding ceremony in front of the castle after hours. Though the total cost runs more along the lines of $75,000, minimum. The good news is you don’t have to shell out a ton of cash to enjoy the beauty and elegance that goes with the fairytale weddings at Disney’s Grand Floridian. The grounds typically remain open to the public, unless there is a wedding in progress, which means snapping that romantic photo op is well within reach. If not, there are still plenty of gorgeous locations around the rest of the resort.
Tumblr media
Stuart and Pamela Kennedy at Disney's Wedding Pavilion 14. Magic Kingdom: Cinderella's Castle The most memorable photo spot in all of Disney World is Cinderella’s Castle. It’s the first thing people imagine when they think of romantic picture locations, and one of the primary reasons guests come from all over to celebrate their engagement there. I mean, it’s a castle! Primarily inspired by the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, the overall design incorporates styles and features from numerous time periods and architecture to construct a genuinely timeless look fit for a princess.

Lunar New Year Celebration Recap at California Adventure
Tumblr media
Although Disney Shanghai was forced to shut its doors on its Lunar New Year celebration due to the coronavirus outbreak, California Adventure is going strong with its last week of festivities. Here’s a recap of the event that wrapped up on February 9th.
Decorations and Displays
A tall red archway at the entrance to Pixar Pier welcomes you to the Lunar New Year celebration and features images of Mickey and Minnie in festive Chinese dress. Next door you’ll find a display of the different activities taking place throughout the day with some history on the holiday. From there you’ll wander around Pixar Pier for the several food stands and quick-service restaurants, souvenir stands, and other decorations. The bulk of the decorations and festivities take place at xxxx with the main stage, more displays, and a pavillion where guests can take photos with Mulan and Mushu. The wall of wishes was a pretty sight with long chains of Mickey ears with hopeful wishes for the new year.
Souvenirs
I was a bit surprised that the Lunar New Year souvenirs weren’t extensive and appeared to be confined to a single cart. There are Mickey and Minnie plushies dressed in Chinese attire, red shirts emblazoned with shiny gold Chinese print, Disney red packets (used to give cash), adorable Chip and Dale drumming figurine, and light-up lantern wands.
Food
What I was most excited to try was the food, as I’m not a particular fan of anything apart from Dole Whip or Café New Orleans’ monte cristo. There were lots of options from the many food carts along the boardwalk and at The Wharf and Paradise Garden Grill. I eventually decided on the bahn mi from Paradise Grill to get the biggest bang for my buck, and I was not disappointed! Despite being a bit heavy on the mayo, the pork belly was rich and indulgent and the vegetables were crisp, with a good zing from the jalapeno. It was huge and very filling!
Tumblr media
I also tried the Mickey macaron, a beautiful silky red with a brush stroke of gold filled with creamy purple yam filling. The staff recommended it for not being too sweet, though I still found it satisfyingly sugary.
Night Show
The night show began right before World of Color and was difficult to see, but the authentic music was enjoyable. Overall, my impression of Disney’s Lunar New Year is that it was an important nod to culture but a bit more of a marketing event during a season of low attendance. Perhaps as the event continues to grow in popularity, it may gain more center stage. Read the full article

Try This Popcorn Flight Before it's Gone!
Tumblr media
To all my fellow festival goers: Epcot's International Festival of the Arts has an awesome popcorn treat you have to try! While it's no Food & Wine, the Festival of the Arts has quite a few delectable cuisine options for your day in the World Showcase. From deconstructed dishes to churros-turned-paint brushes, there are plenty of snacks to be had in the utmost of artistic spirit. One of the more unique ones that I came across on my latest Epcot visit was the Popcorn Flight at Painter's Palate. It's not the traditional buttery goodness you're used to refilling your awesome popcorn bucket with at the parks, but it is definitely worth trying if you love corn in it's expanded form. The popcorn flight is nestled in the African pavilion, just prior to the bridge to Mexico. There you will find not only the paintbrush churros, but also a selection of 3 flavored popcorns paired with different beers. While this is a treat reserved for park goers 21 years and older, it's worth giving a go if your sweet tooth has been exhausted. The flavors include butter, buffalo, and jalapeño. For myself, that was too spicy for the dessert I was seeking when I asked the Cast Member what the flight consisted of, but if you're looking to expand your palate, or spicy food is your calling, this selection is definitely one you should try. I was on the hunt for something a bit sweeter when I came across this unique treat, but it's just one example of the seasonal promotions only Epcot festivals have to offer. Enjoy! My Disney Wish List
Tumblr media
I have a Disney wish list, like most Disney lovers do, I'm sure.  If I had unlimited resources, there are a lot of things I would do to take care of family and friends but these are my Disney wishes -you know, my wishes come true!
Tumblr media
First, I would probably purchase a home at Golden Oak, which is actually a community on Walt Disney World property. Starting at 2 million dollars, there is value there, as visiting family and friends would always have a place to stay.  There are special events and experiences offered as well as that world class Disney service all year round!  I'm guessing that this might actually be the happiest place on Earth!
Tumblr media
The next thing on my list would probably be to get into Club 33 -Disney's exclusive VIP lounge that began at Disneyland with an address of 33 Royal Street in New Orleans Square.  Now found at Walt Disney World and under different names, this is a great place for celebrities like Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks to enjoy the parks without the intrusion of the media.
Tumblr media
Although you don't have to be celebrity; you do have to be able to pay the purported $33, 000 initiation fee and annual membership dues of $15,000 and you have to be super patient, as there is about a decade-long waiting list.  For that price, members are provided premier passport for the member, spouse and children under age 26 as well as 50 one day park hopper tickets, five VIP guided tours, access to private concierge services and a number of FastPass+ reservations, the number of which has not been disclosed.  If you read my previous post about Walt Disney World Tours, you know that there are a few of those on my bucket list!  While Club 33 entrances are a little bit hidden, I've heard that the one in the Magic Kingdom is just to the right of your entrance into Adventureland, Epcot's lounge is in the former Chase Visa lounge at American Adventure.  I've also been told that what used to be the Catwalk Lounge at the Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios is now their Club 33 location.  I remember visiting the Catwalk and thinking what a nice location is was to get away from the crowds, was sorry to see that one go.  Finally, Harambe House at the Animal Kingdom hosts Club 33 members. While I'm waiting for my invitation to Club 33 to be accepted, I would definitely try to win one of those stays in the Cinderella Suite at the Magic Kingdom.  That's one that money can't buy, unless you win it in an auction, I've been told.  During the Year of a Million Dreams back in 2006, guests at Walt Disney World were sometimes surprised with a stay there, and I've wanted to do that ever since.  What a great opportunity to spend a night inside the place where dreams come true!
Tumblr media
Finally, rounding out my Disney wish list, I think I would have to plan trips to each of the Disney parks and take that  Disney Cruise I've been thinking about.  With Disney's world class service, I can not imagine a better way to see some of the best parts of the world. Now, if I could just find that magic lamp.... Read the full article

Cinderella Treats Celebrate the Film's 70th Anniversary
Tumblr media
On February 15, Disney's animated classic, Cinderella, will celebrate 70 years since its original theatrical release. To commemorate the occasion, Disney unveiled a line of Cinderella-themed treats that are as delicious as they are stunning. The story of Cinderella captivated audiences as far back as the first century BC, with over 1,500 different variations made throughout the centuries. Almost every culture has its own adaptation of this timeless tale of rags to riches, though our beloved Disney version is one we hold near and dear to our hearts. Based on Charles Perrault's 1697 Cendrillon, Disney's Cinderella breathes magic and romance into the Magic Kingdom's theming. There is nothing more iconic about the Magic Kingdom Park than the jaw-dropping beauty of Cinderella's Castle -except for the big cheese himself. So it only makes sense for a milestone as grand as this one that Disney would celebrate with such unique fairytale-inspired desserts. They are only available for a limited time, so get them before time runs out. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Cake: Disney's Magic Kingdom Park
Tumblr media
The most appealing treat guests can't wait to bite into is the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo Cake in the shape of Cinderella's carriage. Found at Main Street Bakery in Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, the delectable dessert features a lemony Bavarian mousse cake covered in blue icing and seated atop a small citrusy sponge cake. For the center, a blueberry compote rounds out the fruity flavors. Top it all off with some gold-coated chocolate wheels, and you have yourself a dessert worthy of a princess. This mini cake costs $6.99 plus tax, which feels reasonable for the size and design, especially by Disney standards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Supplies are limited, however, and it actually took us a second trip to the park to claim one of these culinary treasures for ourselves. So, getting yours as early as possible is your best bet. Since the bakery also doubles as the resident Starbucks, grab yourself a cup of coffee to go with it in the morning as you make your way to the castle. Cinderella Soft-Serve: Disney's Polynesian Resort
Tumblr media
If you're heading to Disney's Polynesian Resort, then the opportunity to enjoy two different Cinderella-themed treats is right at your fingertips. The first is the Cinderella Soft-Serve available at the Pineapple Lanai at Polynesian Village. This small outdoor quick-service area is located right outside the lobby before you get to the pool area. They also serve Dole Whip and some dairy-free, gluten-free options.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The good news is you don't have to be very adventurous to try this tasty ice cream. The glittering blue hue is merely a mask for America's favorite flavor: vanilla. And yes, you read that right. The ice cream actually sparkles. The creation is topped with tiny pearl crisps and embellished with a white chocolate clock. The price is $5.29 plus tax. Cinderella Cupcake: Disney's Polynesian Resort
Tumblr media
Another yummy fairytale-inspired dessert to seek out at the Polynesian is the Cinderella Cupcake. To make finding this food item even easier, Disney provides resort guests with two different locations to purchase it. The first is on the bottom floor of the resort at Capt. Cook's, the resort's counter-service restaurant located across from the pool. Cupcakes are stored in the refrigerators, along with yogurts and drinks, where you choose your favorite and take it to the counter for purchase.
Tumblr media
The second location is at Kona Coffee Bar at Polynesian Village Resort, found on the second floor over the lobby area. The coffee bar is a little baked goods station right next to the Kona Café, which is more of a casual dining area. No matter which place you plan on getting the treat, it'll set you back $5.99 plus tax.
Tumblr media
Kona Coffee Bar is located right next to the Kona Cafe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But boy, is it worth it! Undoubtedly my favorite from the collection I sampled, the cupcake consists of a yellow vanilla cake with a fruity blueberry filling. There was even a whole blueberry in the center! The vanilla buttercream frosting is covered in sugar crystals, followed by layers of royal and light blue icing. You'll also come across a crunchy pearl or two when enjoying this tasty Disney treat. For the cherry on top, the flourish is Cinderella's memorable glass slipper. Only it's white chocolate. Yum!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This treat appears throughout multiple resorts, all of which put their unique spin on the delicacy, much like the classic tale itself. The Contempo Café at Contemporary Resort serves a similar yellow cupcake with pumpkin custard and topped with a tiny orange pumpkin beside a shimmering blue slipper. Port Orleans' Riverside Mill and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory also serve their variation of the treat with strawberry icing instead. Resorts Pop Century and Art of Animation will also be selling a version of this cupcake until March 7. Cinderella's Cake Pop Coach: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort
Tumblr media
Another food to satisfy your sweet tooth is the cake pop in the shape of Cinderella's Coach. Gasparilla Island Grill sells these delicious treats at Disney's Grand Floridian for $8 plus tax. If $8 sounds like a lot for a cake pop, that's because it is. But it may soften the shock just a tad to note the unusual size of the cake pop in question, which is about the size of a tangerine. The pop itself is a triple-chocolate cake with wheels made of white chocolate. Other Cinderella-Themed Treats at Disney
Tumblr media
Off to the Ball Dessert: Centertown Market at Caribbean Beach Resort Greedy Gus Gus Cupcake: Food Courts Disney's All-Star Resorts - $5.99 Cinderella's Coach Chocolate Box: The Ganachery at Disney Springs - $7.50 Cinderella's Carriage Mini Dome Cake: Amorette's Patisserie at Disney Springs - $9 Prices do not include tax. The Ganachery also offers Cinderella's Coach Chocolate box year-round. Of course, if you make your way out to Disneyland, the Disneyland Hotel is hosting the "So This is Love: A Cinderella Anniversary Tea" at Steakhouse 55. Times to enjoy this opportunity are on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. There's still plenty of time to try these Cinderella cupcakes and creations before the clock strikes twelve on this limited time offer. While all supplies are subject to availability, the celebration is set to continue until February 28. So Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo on over to the Disney World resorts and treat your taste buds to some culinary magic while you still can. Read the full article

Our Favorite Disney Couples!
Tumblr media
From Mickey and Minnie to Anna and Kristoff, Disney has always had iconic couples. In honor of Valentine's Day, here is a list of our favorite Disney couples. It was so hard to rank them, because we love them all! These are the results of a poll of all the editors and writers for Disney Elite.
5. Bernard and Bianca
Tumblr media
That's right, the mouse couple from The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under! Their chemistry is undeniable and their cause is just. They work for the Rescue Aid Society and meet while trying to help Penny escape from the evil clutches of Madame Medusa. In fact, Bianca picks Bernard specifically to help with the mission, despite the fact that he's a janitor for the Rescue Aid Society! The Rescuers Down Under was the first Disney animated sequel released to theaters
4. Snow White and the Prince
Tumblr media
In some ways the original Disney couple, they first appeared in Walt Disney's first feature length animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. She's the original princess who needs true love's kiss to wake her. And she's the prettiest in all the land, what is there not to love? The Carthay Circle Theatre, where Snow White and the Seven Dwarves premiered, has been lovingly recreated in Disney California Adventure as the Carthay Circle Restaurant
3. Belle and Beast
Tumblr media
When Beauty and the Beast was released, it was clear that Belle was not your average Disney princess. She read books and didn't even want to get married! But she fell for the Beast, and fought to defend him from Gaston and the townsfolk.
2. Aladdin and Jasmine
Tumblr media
Whether the animated original or the live action remake, Aladdin and Jasmine are a perfect couple. He's a thief with a heart of gold and she's a princess who cares about her kingdom. When they meet, he promises to show her the world. And who doesn't love to travel?
1. Rapunzel and Flynn
Tumblr media
In a shocking turn of events, the couple from Tangled swept our poll! While there hasn't been a Tangled 2, there has been a short film (Tangled Ever After) and a popular cartoon series (Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure). We can only hope to see even more adventures of the girl with magical hair and the rogue who loves her on the big screen soon. In the film Tangled, it is revealed that Flynn Rider is simply his alias. His birth name is Eugene Fitzherbert. Who is your favorite Disney couple? Let us know in the comments! Happy Valentine's Day! Floating Lanterns Photo Op at Magic Kingdom
Tumblr media
One of the most overlooked experiences at Disney's Magic Kingdom is Rapunzel's Floating Lanterns photo op. Set against a backdrop of hovering lights across the night sky, this remarkable opportunity transports guests inside Tangled's iconic ceremony. Guests receive a decorative, glowing lantern for the photoshoot to enhance the effect of being a part of the fairytale magic, unlike other PhotoPass locations that digitally alter the photo afterward. Walt Disney World is one of those unique places that allows guests to travel inside one of their films. This photo op is no different and is one of the best ways to bring your favorite movie to life.
Tumblr media
So when and where to find this PhotoPass location? The Floating Lanterns photo op is held every night at sundown by Rapunzel's tower across from the queue for Peter Pan's Flight. Of course, this is subject to weather conditions and special events. The photo opportunity also doesn't typically appear during special ticketed events like Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, since the park closes earlier than usual,
Tumblr media
Queue for the Rapunzel Lantern Photo Op The line usually isn't too unbearable, though you should still be ready to wait anywhere from 15-30 minutes. The good thing is, you're close enough to Pascal's scavenger hunt, located on the back wall of Momentum Mori, to search for Rapunzel's best friend among the scenery while you wait for the sun to go down.
Tumblr media
Cody Simmons and Sarah Newman When it comes to that special person you want to pose with for the lantern opportunity, the possibilities are endless. Take a photo with family, friends, your significant other, or just take one on your own (like me!). Either way, the PhotoPass photographers are right there to ensure you have the best angles and lighting for your picture imaginable. They'll even gladly take one with your camera for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Source: Haley Jeandron The Floating Lantern photo op is a unique way to experience the wonder and awe of one of Disney's most cherished scenes. If you love the movie, you'll treasure this keepsake just as much. Do you have another favorite scene you wish they’d make into a PhotoPass experience? Let us know! Read the full article

Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made refreshingly balances weirdness with kindness
Tumblr media
Imagination runs wild in Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made, a Disney+ original directed by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy and starring Winslow Fegley as the title character. The film is entirely earnest in it's presentation. Timmy runs a detective agency alongside his partner, a polar bear named Total. The film accepts this as fact, and that's a true asset to creating a film that is enjoyable for all audiences. Timmy relies heavily on his polar bear, much like he relies on his imagination, to get him out of different situations. And they usually end up like his last name. Very little overt humor is drawn out of the fact that Timmy's last name is Failure. Wallace Shawn (playing Mr. Crocus) really milks the joke of calling Timmy by his last name, in the most enjoyable way. Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made is based on the first book of the Timmy Failure series written by Stephan Pastis, who also co-wrote the film along with the director. Pastis said the message of the film is "It's okay to be who you are, and you will be accepted," while on the red carpet premiere. Timmy's mantra in the film is "Normal is for normal people," which he learns from his mom. And Timmy is not a normal kid.
Tumblr media
People of a certain age will remember the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. Timmy and Total resemble them in certain ways. Calvin would routinely retreat to his imagination to help him deal with the drudgery of school. Timmy does as well. Calvin has an imaginary friend that would normally be a dangerous animal. So does Timmy. These universal ideas of childhood imagination give both Timmy and Calvin a delightful earnestness. And according to Fegley, there was an actor who portrayed the polar bear on set, lending his performance against the animal authenticity. The film is at it's best when the adults around Timmy take him at his word and play in his world. He doesn't need to be "normal" but he does need to recognize when he is wrong and how to fix what he has done to others. Pastis has said he would love to make a sequel, which is apt since there are six more books that could be adapted. Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made is streaming exclusively on Disney+ Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made  4/5 Don't forget that you could get Disney+ free for a year if you win the Disney Elite giveaway! Great Deal – the WDW Popcorn Bucket!
Tumblr media
One of the best deals in the Walt Disney World resort is the refillable popcorn bucket.  And, let’s be honest, besides movie theater popcorn, the best corn is at Disney!  If you have ever been at Magic Kingdom while walking by City Hall and that smell hits you, I know you will agree. But let’s explore why this is such a good deal.  First, you get a souvenir to keep.  They have different styles of buckets – from the simple park themed buckets to more special edition designs.  Typically, new designs change every season for the basic bucket design, but there are also special themed ones. Currently, the new favorites are the Simba bucket at Animal Kingdom, the Millennium Falcon at Hollywood Studios and the Skyliner bucket at EPCOT.  Another favorite (although not this week’s model) are the Little Green Men from Toy Story, available at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Second, it’s the price. Most refillable buckets range from $12 for basic design to about twice that for special ones (depending on the design – some are $18 while others are $25).  A one-time popcorn snack is $5.25.  Thus, you can pay for your refillable bucket in three fills.  In other words, if you buy the bucket, refill it to watch the parade or a show and refill it one other time on the way out, it will be the same as if you bought three regular popcorns. But here is the bonus - you can refill your souvenir bucket at any popcorn stand in any WDW park and Disney Springs for $2!  Now that’s a deal!  The signs state that you can refill your bucket for your length of stay, but basically you get it refilled until there is a new design out (typically in the new season). One thing to note, popcorn is counted as a snack in the Disney Dining Plans.  But, do NOT use your credit to refill your bucket.  Because it is only $2 to refill, it is better to save your snack credits for something else.  And you cannot use snack credits to purchase the buckets. Now, let’s get a little specific on some locations (not all), just so you know where to get your bucket or refills.  Let’s start with Magic Kingdom.  As mentioned earlier, there is a stand right next to City Hall close to the exit. Closer to the castle, if you are facing it in the hub, there is a popcorn cart on the right side just past the walkway into Tomorrowland. In Hollywood Studios, there are popcorn carts on both sides of the Chinese Theater.  One is close to the entrance to The Launch Bay and The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.  The other is close to the walkway going to the ABC Commissary.  At Animal Kingdom, there is a stand on Discovery Island just past Flame Tree BBQ on the way to Asia. Finally, at Epcot, there is one by the Electric Umbrella.  However, my favorite popcorn cart is located between the Land and the Imagination Pavilion.  This cart is special since they have gourmet popcorn!  You can get cheddar, buffalo bleu cheese, sour cream and chive, and/or regular popcorn.  I say “and” because you can ask for a mix of the flavors.  And get this – gourmet popcorn refills are still $2! The great deal, refillable popcorn buckets can also used/filled in other areas of WDW like Disney Springs and the water parks. If that wasn’t enough incentive, know that your popcorn bucket could be sold on eBay for big bucks – think four times what you paid for on the low end.  As crazy as it seems, apparently there is a market for these buckets and collectors pay a lot of money for them. The best deal price wise is getting the regular/seasonal popcorn bucket design.  However, remember that special designs change, and some are considered collector items.  Even if you don’t want to sell your bucket, you can keep it as a souvenir. Regardless, all buckets are filled with delicious popcorn and $2 refills are a great deal.  Select your design and buy your WDW popcorn bucket when you first arrive for the best deal! The Coca-Cola Rooftop Bar is A Must-Do
Tumblr media
When you're traveling, sometimes all you want is a bit of familiarity. That's why the Coca-Cola location at WDW's Disney Springs is a great pit stop to make amid days of vacationing, shopping, and what can often be stressful fun. I think we all have a memory involving Coca-Cola as a brand or as a soft drink (I haven't drank soda in almost 3 years and yet I still have fond experiences). Being away from home as most Disney visitors are, it can be nice to have a bit of nostalgia among all the new and overwhelming sights the parks and Springs have to offer. If you're looking for something to break up the monotony of burgers and fries in a crowded lobby, the Coca-Cola experience has a hidden hangout you have to try. Whether you've never been to Orlando in your life or you visit Springs every weekend, this rooftop beverage bar is a relaxing getaway in the sky for every guest. Having visited the Coca-Cola factory in Atlanta, GA, I didn't think I would find another related experience that could top that. That was until I visited the rooftop bar boasted on the gorgeous glass building adjacent to the AMC Dine-In Theatre.
Tumblr media
By virtue of being a rooftop destination, the Coca-Cola bar boasts an amazing view of Springs' most aesthetically-pleasing locations. You have a picture-perfect view of the movie theatre, Planet Hollywood's Observatory, and every few minutes or so, the famous blue hot air balloon that graces the Disney Springs sky nearly every day. And if you're not just here for the awesome scenery, and you're ready for some refreshments, the rooftop bar does not disappoint. For my classic soda lovers, the menu offers beverages such as floats with soft drinks of your choice, alcoholic smoothies, and a flight where you pick the flavors you wish to sample. If you're bringing the kiddos along, there are also awesome ICEE choices, mocktails, and several dessert options.
Tumblr media
As you make your way up to the bar, either in the elevator or through the glass hallway that wraps a ramp around the building, you'll get a feel for how busy the place might be. If you're visiting during the 'slow' season, you're more likely to be served and seated in a faster amount of time. But, if you're there in peak hours under the summer sun, expect a wait. This location is still relatively new and as the rounds of tourists from around the world (that could even include you!) try to sample the wonderful views and awesome beverages, you could be left to wait your turn. If you're not content to stand in line, perhaps give some other attractions at Springs a go. Here's a great example of what it's like to just wander around and find activities. So next time you're in the area, give the Coca-Cola rooftop bar a go. If you're a fan of familiar beverages with a unique twist and awesome scenic views, you really can't go wrong here. Until next time! Read the full article

Drive-In to the Ultimate Themed Restaurant
Tumblr media
Whether you lived through the glory days of the drive-in movie theater or you're stuck living vicariously through Grease, I think we can all agree they're must-have classic experiences. I know that I always fantasized about sitting in a beautiful old-fashioned car and watching famous Hollywood stars grace the silver screen. Unfortunately, that past time has somewhat died out, but we can always count on Walt Disney World to bring the experiences we crave into reality. The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is the ultimate themed dining experience I have ever partaken in at WDW (be warned, I have not had the pleasure of visiting the Be Our Guest Restaurant, so my opinion on that may change). But while I was still a DHS cast member, I was able to visit the drive-in restaurant. Located in Disney's Hollywood Studios, the drive-in is perfectly tailored to fit into the old Hollywood scene you feel on the sidewalks and in the atmosphere at DHS. Their menu offers a wide array of options, from burgers to pasta to seafood. You won't find servers telling you to finish your meal and stop watching TV as you will at the 50's Prime Time Cafe, but what you will find is a plethora of brightly colored old-fashioned cars arranged in a night-time theater watching classic films on a large black and white screen. While you enjoy your food, you have the pleasure of viewing famous sci-fi films from the drive-in glory days. (If you're a themed dining experience junkie like me, you'll love this Indiana Jones bar and Beauty and the Beast lounge at Disney Springs and the Grand Floridian Resort, respectively.) Having met quite a few guests amid their day at Hollywood Studios ready for nothing but a cool place to sit down and eat away from the sun. This drive-in restaurant is the perfect remedy for those hot summer days when all you need is a cool drink, comfort food, and preferably a distraction for the kids. The Sci-Fi drive-in offers all of that, and more. One thing I will say from my own experience, I'm not sure if this is common practice there or not, but just be wary of the gratuity when it comes time to pay the bill. I'm unaware if it is policy to apply the gratuity automatically to bills (usually it is only for parties of 6 people and over), but it was already factored into our check when I dined there. Just make sure you're not tipping twice (and not forgetting to tip!) by checking that subtotal before handing over your payment. Otherwise, I highly recommend this location as a cool, relaxing way to enjoy all the nuances of Old Hollywood and the nostalgic classic experience of a drive-in movie theater. Happy dining! A Day at Disney Springs
Tumblr media
Today was perfect  for a day at Disney Springs.  Living in the Orlando area, I am about 40 minutes from some of the best shopping, dining and entertainment that Walt Disney World offers outside the parks. With rainy weather on the way this week and pleasant temperatures today it was a good time to get out and get some steps in! I must tell you, I love days like this.  With no particular destination in mind and spending the day "flying Solo", I used my typical plan of action which is to stay to one side until I get to the farthest point from my car and work my way back.  Stopping first for my mocha latte from Starbucks, I meandered through the Pandora, Alex and Ani, Coach and came up to Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop, where I picked up my free chocolate sample of the day and took in the smell of all the yummy treats being made.   Because it was a weekday and into "slow season", it wasn't too crowded, so I was able to snap a few pics at the Lego Store
Tumblr media
and my favorite stop, the Marketplace Co-op.   It was here that I played around with creating a customized cellphone case at D-Tech, checked out the latest inspirations for Dapper Days from The Dress Shop at Cherry Tree Lane and checked out all the great artwork at WonderGround Gallery.
Tumblr media
After working up an appetite, thanks to a recommendation from my disneyelite.com co-contributor, I decided to work my way toward Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar for a quick bite, as this is one of the restaurants that accepts Tables in Wonderland.   My server, Desi was very helpful offering suggestions for smaller plates and let me know that I had arrived during happy hour, which is from 12pm-3pm Monday through Friday.  I settled on an ice cold beer and Doctor Astorgas's Queso Dip.
Tumblr media
With fresh torilla chips and a queso topped with house made pico de gallo and cilantro, it was just what the doctor ordered!  It was so flavorful and although it's supposed to serve two and I should've stopped eating long before I did, I couldn't help myself!  When it was time to go, I presented my Tables in Wonderland card for my discount and when she returned, she advised me that since both my choices were included in happy hour, my discount couldn't be applied.  However, because it did actually show that I attempted to use it, it did save me $25 on valet parking at Disney Springs, so I wasn't really that mad.  Besides, with the happy hour prices, I ate and drank and walked out of there for $14.91; which in my experience isn't that bad for a full belly and an adult beverage. After lunch, I decided to go down to where the new Cirque Du Soleil show, Drawn to Life will be opening soon, over to House of Blues and the future home of Beatrix, a new dining destination offering healthful vegan, gluten free and vegetarian selections.  I'm really thinking that another day at Disney Springs will be coming up again and sooner rather than later. I really cannot mention all the places I stopped during my day at Disney Springs, but I hope that this gives you an idea of all there is to see here.  If you haven't been there yet, you really gotta go!  From WDW souveneirs to high end shopping and the ever popular Earl of Sandwich to Morimoto Asia, there's something for every budget here.  Not to mention all the entertainment options, which can be found here, and with Valentine's Day approaching, you can plan a pretty fabulous date night too!       Read the full article
