Is this a loki rp a loki who hates thor? If so i won't bother
this loki rper does not hate thor nor rps a loki who hates thor. this a loki rper who is not fond of the shallow writing between loki and thor from ragnarok and believes their dynamic and the chasm between them is a lot more nuanced than loki bad brother who hates senselessly and thor good brother who never did no wrong to receive loki's vice. this loki rper never said loki hates thor, only feels grievance for the faults between both of them. and if this anon does not want to write or follow what this loki rper does or says, nobody has asked them to! this loki rper wishes you a good day :)

Some years ago, my brother was banished from Asgard, and sent to Earth. And when he came back, he was different. Changed somehow. I thought it was weakness. I mocked him. Said he'd gone soft.

okay enlighten us about the significance of loki's headgear and what importance it holds to him symbolic or otherwise. -handchin-
goddamn i wasn't expecting this but here we go 😌 well this is simpler than you'd think but in short, horns symbolise mastery over magic on asgard. loki's helmet, ceremonial or otherwise, shows that he is a master of asgardian magic. in fact, he's the most powerful one, marvel's description not mine. and this is why on occasion you'll see me pissing about other lokis like sylvie or jotun loki from what if for wearing the horns; because they're not masters of magic, they didn't study asgardian magic, they haven't toppled it, they don't have that connection with frigga. the horns show loki's hard work, his determination, his power, which he has earned and now uses like an extension of himself, effortlessly, as though he was born to it. there's nothing practical about it; it's a display of power. you see a lithe guy, fast like the wind, wearing something large and impractical? you should be scared of him. but of course it's a piece of armour that you deliberately put on, loki has fought without his horns on his head before. it's a ceremonial piece he can choose to wear. it's a promise of his capabilities. a little note that goat horns, at least supposedly, symbolise strength and virility.

amusing is the child.   daring though somehow endearing, the bravery of a child who is ready to take on, or rather fool, the might of thousands.   or at least, that is what loki figures, for that is a feeling he nourished in his youth.
the magpie shrieks again, although with a lot more malice.   it hovers in the air, flapping its wings furiously.   with another rumble, the bird seems to fly its beak right into the child’s face.   caw! caw! caw! inch by inch closer until it supposedly crashes into the child’s face.   the world dissipates into a pitch black.   from where the child king stands, green energy starts to feather out until a form takes shape;   the loki he once met, once in an issues tva uniform now adorned with silk and subtle gold, a helmet of obsidian curving out of his head and his cape… divided into a thousand branches, disappear into shadows behind him.
his hands are tangled with the same branches, intertwined and gleaming with all sorts of tiny shards of color, lost in the overwhelming green.
Tumblr media
“messengers are to be respected.” his voice, matching the grin on the god’s face, echoes as though an a vacant chamber, vowels carried over for several seconds after being spoken.   “although i suppose you’ve forgotten your mother’s teachings, as so many of us do.   what is it then, my king?” the god teases, though not mocks.   “why have you abandoned your kingdom?   i thought you liked it there.”
the magpie is inconspicuous, but does not fly unnoticed.
the child stares at it like it is an enemy, his gaze dripping with distrust, though he bears towards it no ill mannerism so far. after all, he knows still the manner of which one must behave when one is granted an audience with a superior. though the thought of it prickles, thinking of any other loki as superior at all. what is the difference, after all ? what makes this loki so special ?
( unless it is the elder. the master. then... then it would make much sense. then the child does not have to go through his days roughened by another loss. )
Tumblr media
❛ do not be a coward, loki. face me with the respect of the gods which we are. ❜ they demand, their voice clear, spoken to the magpie as if it is another verbal creature itself that could retort, and spat back. ❛ project yourself. i seek audience, not your meagre messenger. ❜

and a keen ear does notice—nay, a sharp ear.   the wind blows, leaves rustle and fly in circles around the young—ancient really—boy’s feet.   you’ve learned not how to pray, the breeze whispers.   should such a murmured sound of nature be ever capable of presuming a tone, it’d be teasing.
Tumblr media
the clouds in the sky begin to clear, then, clearing the way for bright sunlight and a neverending blue.   in the nothingness which engulfs him, loki almost feels curious.   as though he could cock his head and cross his arms with question at his younger self.   something which he of course cannot do.   a magpie lands on a near-by tree, cawing.   i am listening.   tell me.
everything was changing. that much, the child needs no extended life to have pinpointed. the end of time used to be a desolate place: mournful, gruesome, grey and thick with death. though lately ... lately there seems as though there is life to it. something's changed, something with which he cannot explain. there is... an essence in the air that is achingly familiar. it makes even the still grass of the void sway. though alioth, as alioth does, goes on its merry rampage.
a greedy creature, the cloud — if only there is something to be done. there isn't. the child wastes no time. he takes alligator in his arms, and he scours and finds and seethes, until somehow, somewhere, he manages to make his way back to the tva. he demands for mobius, the only name he could care to recall, though no one could tell him where the man's gone to. another agent has explained to him what happened instead. they showed him yggdrasil. they showed him time, which expands. and grows. and brims with possibilities.
an endlessness. a power he knows only one has ever held.
Tumblr media
when the child exits the all-heinous and constricting tva, he could barely acknowledge where he is. no, to the sky he calls instead. a child of frigga still, the young prince prays with a remarkably arrogant tone, though laced with franticness one with only a keen ear would notice: ❛ loki at the centre of yggdrasil, o' the god of all time. hear me. answer me. ❜ and then, simply: ❛ speak, for i demand your audience. ❜

META   +  friends/family
what can i say? they're in truth the centre of him. loki has always and will always seek belonging. he may be this independent, free being but he has always wanted a place to call his. to know there is someone(s) who is waiting for him, someone that he matters to. i've always been saying this because this has always been the core of him since day one, now we've just seen it properly. it's just that loki isn't so open to this. you need to gain his trust, his respect. he needs to know that he can open his heart, that it won't be squeezed dry. i think even after mobius he does have this guard; he's just a little more open to the prospect. he won't accept just anyone with open arms, earning his appreciation is still important. it just might be easier to get. i think he delights so much in an interaction with a person that he has fun with and they appreciate his presence. and for his friends, his family (his lover)? he'd kill and he'd die for.

META   +  food
i've said it before and i'll say it again loki loathes overly processed foods (this is modern setting specific obviously). turkey slices, supermarket chicken nuggets, schnitzels, mcdonald's kind of burgers, fries, all that kind of food that is supposed to be filling and nutritious but isn't, even soft drinks. this does not extent to chocolate though it does extent to sour candy, however it is a guilty pleasure because he does, unfortunately, love the kick on his tongue. he also can't stand mild flavours like tea, beer, weak wine. now outside of preferences, loki on normal circumstances eats a lot. for a person of his stature (even though this in truth doesn't matter as he's three times denser than humans, despite your average person not knowing that) he eats a lot. i mean three whole plates in one sitting. this is something which loki tempers (or did, once) with his magic, sustaining himself with his own energy, a convenience he has stuck to after his time in the sanctuary since, as you can imagine, thanos did not make sandwiches for him.

META   +  betrayal
this is something which i say a lot and i have yet to see something or read anything that would make me think otherwise but i think for loki, his breaking point in a relationship (and by relationship i mean any kind of dynamic) is making him feel small, insignificant. you can hurt him all you like but that's still attention. he's still eliciting a reaction, he still matters enough to know he can cause this effect. having no place in someone's mind is something which shatters his bonds. we see this with odin whose approval loki still tries to get throughout the first thor movie until odin's rejection, which is when loki feels betrayed. we also see this with s*lvie, where loki's breaking point was once more rejection, feeling replaceable. loki feels betrayed when you reject him, in short. i'd like to say there's also the obvious of betraying his trust or using his willingly shared vulnerabilities, that'd also shatter a bond i think. to betray him is to shun him.
