Do you think Marcus even remembers how old he is, or when his birthday is? Or do you think he just guesses every year, to the best of his ability?

yeah, he knows his birthday! predominantly he knows this because he has active documentation like passports and driving licenses; he needs to know his birthday for admin reasons, basically.

but he doesn’t always remember it, or doesn’t realise when it’s his birthday. why would he? he doesn’t have anyone who celebrates it with him, or who asks when his birthday is; so he doesn’t tell people, because volunteering that information unprompted is such an abundant cry for attention on something that marcus doesn’t care that much about.

birthdays were unremarkable in his childhood home, and they got less and less remarkable as he passed through the boys’ home and the catholic church. it’s like sean said - the world don’t know who you are and it don’t care.

so they’re unremarkable now, too, and marcus tends to realise his birthday’s been and gone in the days after it’s happened. it’s never celebrated, never thought upon. just sometime after it’s happened he’ll think, another year older, and then forget about it, until the next year.

going off from that last post, i think i’ve said this before but ... generally speaking marcus is very quiet in bed ... not so much in the way of moans, but his breathing is a constant tell, if it’s ragged or heavy or quick + shallow, etc. and he’s a dirty talker like nobody’s business. but, almost by virtue of not making many Sounds(tm), he really loves a noisy partner and will do everything in his power to wind them up enough to make really pretty moans
