this is going to sound like such a little sibling ass take but i genuinely believe that being a little bit annoying is actually a greater sign of maturity and self awareness than being universally likeable and on good terms with everyone

one weird thing I only noticed after starting classic who is that the nuwho companions never eat. like, ever. name any instances you have of nuwho companions eating, a few of them have one (1) scene or one borderline scene, no more
classic who companions be getting a meal every serial fr
adric alone has probably eaten more food on screen than every nuwho companion combined. and he's only in one (1) season

not to sound like a high school english teacher, but i actually think it's really interesting looking into authors backgrounds and seeing how their past has influenced their storytelling, especially as a scifi/fantasy reader. like, it makes so much sense that leguin was an anthropologist and arkady martine has a doctorate in comparative history and seth dickinson did research on racial bias in policing. just look at what they made!!

@just-mushroom-thoughts YO that's fascinating and if you ever want to put up a lore post or a worldbuilding post explaining more, I would LOVE to be tagged in it so I could read it! Necromancy normally isn't my personal jam but using the undead as manual laborers has so many fascinating possibilities to explore. If you ever want to talk more about what you've set up I am all ears! 😁
Casually asks ‘who domesticated grain in your fantasy world?’ but while ripping her shirt off with a WWE stage and a roaring crowd just behind and slightly to the left.

everytime dungeon meshi focuses on characters outside of the touden party you can really feel the looming horror of the dungeon,, only the touden party is having a silly fun time by virtue of eating the horrors

I've come to a decision. I'd like to spend some time as a petted and adored courtesan showered with all the pretty things by an older, wealthier, yet still attractive and well-built patron who brings me their complex political problems to air their grivances while their head lays on my lap
not long mind. just as a vacation for a few weeks. I wouldn't want to dress up for much longer than that

"why is the kendrick/drake feud trending on tumblr?" is a fair question to ask given that this site isn't usually known for being big into hip hop, but I ask you to consider that I still regularly see posts doing numbers about how hbomberguy murdered tommy tallarico. tumblr, first and foremost, is the bread and circus website.

Explain your reasoning plzzz
#one time payout#it'd take about 27 years for the 1k a day to reach 10 million true but that 1k won't be worth what it is today due to inflation#for illustrative purposes (and assuming the daily income doesn't grow with inflation)#1k today was worth about 512 in March 1997#now that's working backwards yes but we can propose that if current trends hold out#then 1k today will be worth about half what it's currently valued at in 2051#so you'd be getting 1k a day in 27 years but receiving about half the value by the end#whereas if you get the lump sum today then you can chose to spend it OR#if you invest it then you turn the power of compound interest into working for you. so lets take that 10 million#invest it somewhere we anticipate a 7% interest rate annually for 27 years and then use a calculator from investor.gov#in 27 years we can expect to have about 62 million in the bank#ok but lets say you want 1k a day for life and you're reading this on your 21st birthday#and you expect to live to - lets say 81. so another 60 years#i.e. another lets make the math easy 22000 days#so if you're reading this on your 21st birthday and you expect to die a bit after your 81st birthday then if you pick 1k a day#you're going to expect to see about 22 million dollars by the time you die. in 60 years. meaning you've made a third of the 62 million#the investor made in slightly over half the time. since the investor made that in 62 million in 27 years. which means that#if you and the investor both made this choice on your shared 21st birthday by the time YOU have gotten the 10 million the investor#got in one lump sum the investor will have 62 million in the bank 27 years later#the investor will have made 6x as much as you have. and you'll only make 22 million dollars by the time you die on your 81st birthday#when the investor will have approx. 580 million in the bank on your mutual 81st birthdays. assuming the investor never touches the account#if you take the daily payment and don't invest it you make dramatically less and also have to deal with inflation on the back end

when i say i like hiking, i don’t mean “eight mile backpacking trip with special gear and an emergency beacon” sort of hiking, i mean a three mile loop to go look at pretty things and then a huge brunch after.
