this was really fun, i haven’t drawn any fanart for the hobbit/lotr before even tho i love them a lot! for a first attempt i don’t hate their designs completely tho i will probably change them up a bit in the future (i made bilbo look so young here but was too lazy to change it)

I can’t believe I’ve had such an intense revival into The Hobbit Fandom after being obsessed with the movies when they came out just over 10 years ago now. There’s just some fandoms that have consistently amazing fanfics that are written beautifully and with such interesting concepts.

Some of these are a bit silly and cracky but i think that’s the appeal of The Hobbit, it’s a bit more cheerful than LOTR (vehemently ignoring Battle of the Five Armies)

What are your dreams like? Do you remember them when you wake up? Do you dream when you nap or only when you sleep at night? I often have what I call realistic dreams even though the situations and sometimes creatures and world are not reflective of real life, just that when I wake up I'm confused for a bit because my brain has to realize that it was a dream not something actually happening. Maybe vivid would be a better descriptor. I can usually remember at least the gist of the dream too after waking up.

You know, dreams are odd for me. I love to dream—I LOVE IT! But I haven't really lived the kind of life that promotes good dreams, you know. That said, I tend to maladaptively daydream a lot, usually about my stories. I riffle through my card catalog of fic ideas and future conversations or events and fall asleep to those little worlds.

I don't remember 90% of what I dream about, and I'm actually pretty happy with that. I've always been a bit superstitious about dreams and used to suffer from night terrors. At the time, we lived next door to a Native American family from the Cherokee Nation. We had play dates will them frequently because their daughter was about the same age as my little sister. I guess my mom talked to them about my night terrors because one of the activities they had set up was building dream catchers. They were not built out of solid material we made them with supplies bought at Dollar General, but I built mine and hung it above my bed.

I realize it was probably a placebo, but the night terrors stopped, and my dreams got better. That dream catcher has followed me to every place I've lived. It's damn near falling apart, but until it crumples to dust, I'm not getting rid of it.
