I was so close to marrying Faramir but guess I’ll kill Farmer Cotton bc I can’t imagine doing anything at all with him pleasantly. He’s good and all but I’m aroace. Sorry buddy.
Before voting, spin the wheel and get a Lord of the Rings character.
Not sure who your character is? You can look them up on this Tolkien Gateway character list, or just vote based on vibes.
For the purposes of the game, assume your vote is not "LaCE compliant." (That is, fucking an elf does not instantly mean marriage or death for that elf.)

I don't fuck w nerds, the moment I can smell lore correction coming I'm like "Oh Neptune" and I gotta call my mom and ask her to pick me up
If I'm like "I really liked the scene where Gandalf learns the truth about the Ring in the first movie" and someone's like "Oh you mean when he was in Minas Tirith, originally known as Minas Anor when it was first built in the Third Age?" I am pulling the nearest fire alarm

It's only polite to ask first.
(In the third panel, Elrond is thinking "Who else does this sort of thing? Where in his tiny body does he keep all that Audacity? This kind of thing is why I love this guy").

happy pride month to EVERY tolkien character bc theyre ALL GAY AS FUCK but especially to:
sauron - raging homosexual. once he got seduced by melkor then seduced celebrimbor then seduced the king of numenor you start to recognize a pattern 🏳️‍🌈⁉️
glorfindel and erestor - tolkien basically confirmed they're a thing by having them ride to minas tirith together
the sons of feanor - extremely homosexual especially maedhros
fingon - bro he is so gay that even after his bf betrayed him and he had to cross the helcaraxe bc of it he STILL has to be even gayer and rescue him from thangorodrim
aredhel - idc she's a masc lesbian
galadriel and samwise gamgee - bisexual icons

I could think of no better way to share the news than this!
So when I was 17, my cat went missing and I'd given up hope of ever seeing him again.
Until on Monday, 27th of May, 2024, my friend sent me a FB post asking 'isn't that your mother?' about the person named on the microchip.
Tumblr media
Here he is! 16 years old, and found safe, twelve whole years after he went missing!
Yesterday (Tuesday the 28th of May, 2024) I went to the rescue that had him, and I reclaimed my boy, renaming him Artie! (He'd originally been called 'Cat' because my mother and I couldn't decide on a name)
He's home safe with me now, currently inhabiting my bathroom and purring up a storm every time someone goes in there!
I'll be doing slow introductions between him and my current cat to give them the best possible chance of living in harmony!
Here's some pictures of Artie once we let him out of the carrier:

It’s been a long frustrating day, so here’s a little bit from the Maglor rescues little Arwen fic in hopes of making it a little better.
“Father always said he hoped you would come home,” she said, and she leaned her head against his, her cheek so soft against his own.
Maglor’s traitorous heart ached in response to the sweetness of the gesture and her words, sighing softly as he continued through the twilight. Gil-Estel blazed brightly overhead, and he wondered if Earendil watched over them, keeping track of their progress.
“Your father is uncommonly kind and forgiving,” he said at last. “Even to a wretch like me.”
Arwen was quiet so long he wondered if she’d fallen asleep, but then she spoke again. “I think you are very mean to yourself, Grandfather.”
A low laugh escaped him before he could stop it, and he exhaled a heavy breath to try to cover it. “Perhaps you’re right, but not without just cause, little one.”
She made a small unhappy noise in response to that, squirming slightly against his back. “When I’ve been bad, my parents always set a limit to my punishment,” she said. “So I know when I’ve been forgiven then we can move on and I try to do better. Shouldn’t you get to do the same?”
Valar save him from the clear uncomplicated perspective of a child. How on earth could he answer that?
“You ask hard questions, Arwen,” he said, hoping to steer the conversation away to safer ground.
“No I don’t,” she grumbled, her small voice heavy and drowsy. “Grownups just make things harder. Don’t you know when your punishment is over?”
Maglor kept his gaze on the star above as he moved silently through the meadow, breathing deep the scent of night blooming flowers and seeing the soft winking of fireflies near the creek in the distance.
“No,” he said at last. “I don’t.”
Arwen stirred, leaning closer. “Didn’t the Valar tell you?”
“No.”
“Shouldn’t you ask them then?”
He sighed again. “You should sleep while you can, Arwen.”
“I know what that really means,” she grumbled in his ear. “Stop asking questions.”
Another laugh bubbled free despite himself. “Yes, for now. You can ask your questions tomorrow.”
She yawned, snuggling closer against his back. “Okay,” she whispered. “I won’t forget.”
He was very sure she wouldn’t. As they passed once more under the eaves of the beech trees, her breathing grew slow and even, and he knew she was asleep at last. Maglor, however, had never felt wider awake, Arwen’s questions chasing round and around in his mind.
“Well, Lord Earendil,” Maglor murmured to the bright star that seemed to follow them as he walked carefully through the trees, the light falling down like silver rain through the canopy. “Your granddaughter asks many questions, and I do not have the answers for her. Do you know when my punishment ends? The Valar have not seen fit to tell me, but perhaps you know.”
Was it his imagination, or did the star’s light seem to twinkle in answer?

Angry Swan
My first fanart of Eärwen and Finarfin! We know that Eärwen did not follow her husband into exile, but how did she react to the Kinslaying at Alqualondë? There're few descriptions of her in the Silmarillion. We can imagine that she was even more angry and grieving than Finarfin, after all, among the fallen bodies were likely to be her relatives and childhood friends. So that's why I drew this: furious Eärwen yelling and Finarfin shedding tears of remorse.
I couldn't decide where to place Finarfin in the picture at first; in my initial vision, he would comfort Eärwen by wrapping his arms around her from behind, but that would have weakened the anger I wanted to show. She needed the time and space to vent those emotions alone, and I suppose Finarfin would be too guilty to touch her, even though he wasn't personally involved in the killing. So in the end Finarfin just watched Eärwen silently, reaching out his hand but hesitating as to what to do.
(Of course, when Eärwen calmed down, they embraced and rebuilt the haven together)
