Hamilton: *gently touches john’s cheek* john laurens. john. laurens. god. i didn’t know angels could fly so low. here, have my left kidney. no. wait. both of them. you deserve it all, john laurens.
John Laurens makes me sad cause I’m kinda in the same situation and he was emotionally manipulated to the point he felt he could do nothing right and never felt happy about what he did cause he valued his dad’s opinion so much like. Literally the worst ending for him. I can’t think about this now.
i couldn’t help myself now that i have some time on my hands. the rewritten lyrics were created by the lovely @john-laurens. my voice isn’t great but i’m going to tackle all the rewritten lyrics
What started as a weekend project has become a quest to compile a timeline of the day-to-day actions of Hamilton and Laurens between when they met (circa. August 7, 1777) and Laurens’s death (August 27, 1782). My time and resources are limited (online records, An American Soldier by Sara Townsend, The Chernow Hamilton biography, and the Arno Press Army Correspondance of Colonel John Laurens), so, I’m calling on the fans of Tumblr to help.

Message me with dates of any events that I missed- especially dates not listed.
Together, we might create the most in-depth timeline of the actions these two men took during the revolution, and probably the best picture of John Laurens ever created.
Below the cut is the progress that I’ve made this weekend, but I haven’t slept in almost three days and I’m cutting myself off to study for an exam. My part is nowhere near completed, I’ll be steadily adding to this post. I know that there are biographies that I won’t have time to read with information that I won’t have access to without (i.e. John Laurens and the American Revolution), so I’d really appreciate any help I can get.
Okay so I know today is a somber day but look at it this way: if there is an afterlife, tomorrow is the day Alexander Hamilton is finally reunited with John Laurens
