no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

#i love when there's a new show or movie #and it gets spoiled for me if i don't watch the whole thing within 24 hours of it releasing #because the whole thing is released all at once #and people have no fucking chill about posting spoilers #(this isn't just a tumblr problem - i actually see it a lot worse on other platforms) #(but it's another byproduct of streaming) #(and i don't know about you but i lose interest really fast if i see the ending to something before even know what it's about)

I don't know if it's just me, but one of my favorite things about Fire Emblem fanart is people drawing Edelgard in her Disney Villain™ timeskip outfit but having the sweetest, bubbliest, most cheerful smiles ever imaginable. Probably even cuddling a teddy bear (though fanart I've come across with her holding a stuffed bear tends to be set during the Academy phase).

Of course, Edie looking high and mighty and having that "commanding" presence to her is good stuff too.

Twilight becoming so unwittingly settled into his family life, that he accidentally refers to Yor and Anya as “my girls” when he reports back to Handler.

“Your girls?” Handler repeats, teasing him.

He nervously clears his throat, “I-I meant my wife and daughter.”

“Seems your “girls” are making you soft, Twilight.”

“Nonsense. It was just a slip of the tongue.” He says, heading towards the exit.

Handler chuckles to herself as he leaves.

“Seems our dear Twilight is so deep in character that it’s hard to tell where Twilight ends and Loid Forger begins.”

Don’t forget that she learned really fast that Yor is a) ride or die for her family; and b) ready to throw down at a moment’s notice at all times. When Anya gets into a situation where she needs some muscle, she knows all she has to do is come up with some excuse that will snap her assassin mom into action. (Like stopping that one bad guy at the aquarium by grabbing his shirt and not letting go, all while screaming about being kidnapped. Yor sent that man through the ceiling, no questions asked.)

I know it's a running gag that Anya is kind of a dumbass because she's literally 4 years old and while it is true that she views certain things with a naivety that only a child can have and that she's not very academically smart compared to her classmates, it's totally overlooked how intelligent she actually is.

At this age she's not only able to read and write, she's trying to keep up with children who are two years older and basically have been trained to go to an elite school since birth.

Anya is very clever when it comes to hiding her psychic abilities, she knows exactly what will draw suspicion upon herself and avoids saying it, especially in front of adults. An example for this is how she acts in order to save the kid that's drowning in the hospital pool, she know she can't just tell her dad that someone is drowning so she just runs away with an excuse that seems logical enough for a first grader and it works! Mr chronic anxiety and paranoia himself didn't suspect her. Damian only suspects her being able to read minds because she's less carful around her peers. All of this is clearly a trauma response because she is afraid of rejection and of abuse, both things that caused lots of suffering in her past.

But those aren't the only instances when she shows her intelligence: she escaped a probably heavily guarded research facility on her own, when the terrorists plan to explode the building her dad is about to enter she comes up with a plan to stop the bomb from going off, she keeps track of everything that's going on during the missions (like the cruise ship), she covers for her mum and dad and she distracts adults in order to be able to do the stuff she needs to do.

She manipulates people based on the information she's gathered from mind reading. She's a bit clumsy at hiding this because what she's saying always seems out of nowhere but her being a first grader covers that up. Examples: she uses Loid's thoughts to fill out the crossword puzzle in order to get adopted, she tells her mum how much she loves her and never wants to be apart from her in front of Fiona, she tells Yuri she wants to get better at school for her mum's sake, she provokes Damian into meeting his dad when he has doubts, the list goes on.

Tldr: Anya is actually really smart for a four year old.

#I know it’s not as clever as the other examples #but it shows that Anya is very resourceful #…and a little manipulative #(there is the possibility that this will get her in trouble someday #since it’s based on her belief that her mama is unstoppable #and there may come a time when the opponent could stop yor #but then again if her little girl is in danger I think even a nuke wouldn’t stop Yor so…) #spy x family #anya forger

It’s like the time Twilight got so into coming up with the perfect “vacation” outfit he unknowingly entered Peak Dad Mode when he left the change room in the most embarrassing and incredible combination of clothes possible. The spy in him was over analyzing the situation like crazy yet still somehow managed to pick out the Most Dad outfit possible (if he was going for “father embarrassing his child”).

And then of course he was utterly destroyed by Anya in one sentence

Twilight is simultaneously the most dad and the least dad at the same time. The spy analysis of his kid is so un-dad that is clashes side by side with his dry-humor dad moments. All those times he talks about getting things for Anya if they’re available to rent, or (my all time favorite) when she’s trying to do the report on a parent’s job and misses the mark with yor. Twilight arrives and she’s too done to explain it again so I’m pretty sure she literally says blah blah blah and he answers “ah yes I see” or something like that. It’s just soooo dad. It clashes so much and I really like the idea that it’s his own actual personality that’s clashing with his role as a spy. So when he’s being un dad it’s from all his spy training and when he’s being dad it’s just him? That’s probably not it but it’s a nice thought. I’m trying to find more examples but im too busy laughing at their nonsense these people hve no idea how a nuclear family works and they are all far too intelligent (yes all three of them) to make it work.

Oh oh oh or all those moments where he’s really taken off guard like when he’s shocked that Anya knows what 2/8ths means or when toe’s food tasted good. Moments of absolute shock that make his voice go up an octave.

I also love yor and loid and anya doing the whole ‘papa and mama are flirting’ ‘no we are not!!!’ I laugh every time. Maybe I just love this show.
