And Louis, being Daniel’s narrative foil, is just like Bella Swan in terms of how she periodically sees hallucinations of Edward, and endangers her life (even tries to end it 👀) in an attempt to force him to come back to her and save her from herself…
Huh. What’s the term for when one piece of media foreshadows a completely separate, other piece of media?
Daniel Molloy is just like Bella Swan if instead of getting into motorcycling and cliff diving when Edward rejected her she did black tar heroin.
And the whole “I’ve known for months” from Armand. Like yeah, he could be implying that he poked around in Louis’ head and found out about Lestat and the murdering of Lestat that way.
But…
It could also mean that Armand’s known for months bc Lestat came to him months ago and spilled all the beans blood.
I don't think it's a coincidence that Armand said "a century ago, yesterday, what is time for a vampire?" I think Lestat is already his prisoner
fascinating how armand's narration doesn't give us any insight into lestat's thoughts. he's like a closed book. yeah he just appeared behind me one night and begged me to teach him. yeah he said he loved me and left his other lover. yeah he abandoned everyone without comment. no illuminating conversations. no explanation behind any motivation whatsoever. no meaning. such a stark contrast to louis' tale about their relationship. louis had such a deep understanding of lestat's mind. always knew what mood he was in and why. always knew what he was thinking and reflected on it. it's almost like armand is not— [gets dragged away through the street]
Re-watching ep 3. Notice perhaps a gift that's so far, unique to Armand: the power to control anything related to electricity. When Louis and Armand had their meet cute in the park, the lamplight flickered when Armand approached and when he departed. Here, the camera deliberately shows us this line was not recorded, but the next line was. Is this how they echo Armand has always had a really strong Mind Gift?
Putting another speculation under the cut re The Talamasca.
The Talamasca is obviously keeping a very close eye on the interview. And they know the whereabouts of Daniel's laptop. My (totally unfounded) guess is that Real Rashid TM is an undercover agent. Out of the entire staff, he is the one who has the access to the most sensitive material and information, e.g. the removed pages of Claudia's diaries. He is the one most likely gaining access to Daniel's personal belongings. Real Rashid, you better have an exit plan in place. Neither of those vampires are the forgiving kind...
I have an episode 5 theory I wanna get off my chest just in case I’m right!
I suspect Daniel will confront Armand and Louis about what happened in San Francisco. Louis will stick around to tell him about it but dip after he mentions the attack.
Daniel will ask Armand what really happened between them because it doesn’t explain the memories he saw in episode 2. Then we get Armand’s perspective.
After Armand stops Louis’s attack on Daniel, he records their confrontation:
Then the big (traumatizing?) speech Eric mentioned Assad does that made him emotional. And Daniel will hear it in full because Armand kept the tape all these years:
We know Louis sent Daniel the tapes and they were later destroyed in season 1 for a clean slate but this one tape Armand made and kept will fully unlock all of Daniel’s memories from San Francisco.
