“A soldier...” She mused quietly, under her breath, so they were training her to fight. Combat was something that Runa had wished to learn, but until today, they had ignored her wishes. “But you aren’t anymore. Why?” She asked, looking over at him. 

The fangs caught her attention quickly and she tensed at the sight of him, sniffing at the air, he smelled...different. Old. Older than any the vampires she knew. She took some small comfort in his words, she owed her life to the vampires, they raised her. But she also knew how they were. How they treated her and many others that resided in this facility, she both feared and hated them. To hear that his man was not one of them put her at ease. “If you do not view them as kinsmen, why are you here?” She remembered the collar he wore, identical to hers. “Why did you agree to train me? Why do what they asked? You’re strong, I can get that from you. You could leave, couldn’t you?”

Runa was quiet, thinking carefully. “Believe me when I ell you you do not want to see her as a wolf. You saw the bodies. She will not hesitate to do the same to you.”

“But if you wish to speak to her I will not stand in your way.” She turned on her heel, not waiting to see if he followed. “I warn you, she has a short temper."

He made no reply to her first comment, simple a raise of his brows showing he did, in fact, believe himself to be clever, he was simply waiting for her to reach the point. He cared little about her. Vampire, Lycan or hybrid could be killed with a well aimed bullet, his matters lie elsewhere.

“Black market standards work just fine for us.” Runa gave Selythgaren a respectful nod, moving down from where she was standing, her pack staying where they were. “I appreciate the advice. Perhaps we will just skip this city now, there is no point in stopping. You are welcome to join us if you are traveling that way.”

“Selythgaren.” She seemed there was something strange about them, but she did not know what and would not ask. “You won’t find work in the next city. City after that one is better. At least, if you go by black market standards.”

“It is not against pack law.” Runa smiled a little at his wording, folding her arms across her chest as she walked, glancing back at Cassander. “It was a personal decision of mine. Trusting people outside the pack is...difficult. But-” She paused, nodding slightly. “I trust you. We are heading east. There is a meeting. Packs are gathering. It only makes sense that we join as well." She chuckled a little, heading out the door, breathing in the night air. “I don’t drink. Not as much as the rest of them.” She gestured to the pack with a nod, still visible although they were a distance away. “Someone has to keep them in line.”

"Untie me." He snarled, showing his fangs. ((Sorry I just love you too much. ))

“You and I both know that I can’t do that, Cassander.”

Runa’s eyes met Gaia’s when he looked at her, but she was quick to turn her gaze to the floor, following behind him quietly, twisting her hands as she thought. Her mind was still working to figure out just what the vampires were planning with this, even she was able to figure out they seldom did things unless it benefitted them. What did they gain out of this? Another weapon? Another soldier?

The room they shared was not unlike her own, simply bigger. And this one had a window. She moved to stand close to the window, her eyes staring at the moon before she turned to look at Gaia, taking in the multiple stars and swirling galaxies that moved along his skin.

“Runa. They gave me the name, Runa.” She finally answered, moving to claim one of the beds, curling her knees against her chest. “You are a fighter?”
