Happy 30th anniversary Final Fantasy 6!! Originally released in Japan on April 2, 1994 and the world has never been the same ❤️
To celebrate the occasion I chose to redraw one of Amano’s illustrations. This is one of the few times you see the entire cast together in one piece (minis Umaro and Gogo, sorry) I love how everyone looks either irritated or bored so I wanted to lean in to that. 😆
Gonna have this as a coloring page in the shop soon!

I can’t finish this drawing. Every time I look at Ben I start to cry. This is so painful…I only received misery from this saga. :( I’ll try to finalize this drawing next month..

Something I feel like no one acknowledges is that Gohan wasn’t raised by just one person.
Like, the big argument is usually whether Goku or Piccolo was A. the prominent father figure in his life or B. the better parent. But why divide them in the first place?
Piccolo took care of Gohan in a very formative time of his life, and was there for him throughout. And, you know, Goku is Gohan’s actual fucking father. And yes, despite being absent for a collective while, he absolutely had a hand in shaping his son.
But it’s not just them! Krillin and even Bulma would have had an influence on Gohan too! Krillin more so during the Namek saga, where he was with him most of the time.
And then Chi-Chi, who conveniently gets left out of these conversations. She’s a strong mother who dealt with a lot of bullshit. A mother who wanted the best for her family and tried to raise Gohan in a safe environment.
Ever heard the phrase, “it takes a village”? The people that Gohan was raised with/around had their own influence on how he developed. So why make it an argument?
