Fandom Problem #4834:

I hate when a fandom looks at parents in fiction and decides there are only TWO kinds of parents:

Abusive Parents OR Perfect Parents.

It's rarely as narrow as that. Some are abusive, some are flawed yet still good, some won't admit their flaws, and the list goes on and on. Similar complexities carry over to parent characters in fiction.

Season 6's theme will probably be about rediscovering things that were abandoned (the frozen ship, Aaravos) and what happens when they are brought back to life through action or accident (the coined elves, Aaravos again). Very fitting for the Star arcanum which is about patience! Also if the frozen ship is a parallel for Viren's dungeon, where Rayla and Callum both found interesting/useful artefacts (bowblade, K'ppar's coin, Aaravos's mirror) then who knows what they'll find there?

listening to my prof talk abt how strictly allegorical readings lose pieces of the text/full context of a work/specific details by pretending one situation in a work is a 1:1 for something else and im sitting here like man. this is Exactly why i get so mad abt trying to force tdp's dark magic into any irl allegory because nothing fully fits and accounts for every part of it and so you have to just engage with it on the story's own terms and i feel insane when it gets watered down/pushed into being something it's not because you have to break pieces off to make it fit and we got this weird polarization in fandom where I'm now like well I can't talk abt this with Anyone then

we are so ableist about memory. people with good memory take for granted the fact that they can recall as much as they can, and use that to taunt, guilt and threaten people with memory issues. many neurotypes and mental illnesses cause memory lapses. traumatic brain injuries can cause memory lapses. brain cancer can cause memory lapses.

even if your memory is good, it's not right to guilt someone because they can't remember something. trust me, people with memory problems are desperately trying to remember: it's just that we literally can't. it is a very literal "i can't remember".
