Haikyuu Harry Potter Au! PART ONE

So I literally made a tumblr for the sole fact that Haikyuu season four is coming in January and I can not contain my lover anymore so I’ll be making some head cannons and aus; even recommending some good fics I come across <3

So for this Harry Potter Au I recommend reading Killthespare’s Shouyou Hinata and the Mirror of Erised on Ao3

Okay let’s start with some headcannons (some might be similar to the fic’s but pls don’t sue me):

Hinata grew up in the muggle world and up until he received his letter to Hogwarts believed he was just a normal kid

He was actually adopted by this really nice family when he was young so he’s always known that he was adopted and it doesn’t bother him at all

Well actually, his parents didn’t mean to adopt him in the first place

His parents are both muggle born and work in the medical field so on their rare day off they, along with their daughter, Natsu, made their way to the neighborhood park

and as soon as she saw a swoosh of orange run pass her, something in Natsu just knew

At first, Natsu’s parents were surprised at how quick Natsu became attached to the orange-haired boy and even more surprised when she threw a tantrum when it was time to go

“He’s my brother! He has to come home!” “Sweetie, I’m sure he has his own family to go home to-”

Poor Hinata was getting yanked on and his shirt was dripping with tears at this point

It took awhile but Natsu finally passed out and the family of three finally went home

It became a routine to go to the park just to see the ball of sunshine and sometimes the parents would invite him for dinner and such or offer him a ride home

to say they were shocked when they found out Hinata’s home was actually an orphanage was an understatement

Finding out how cruel the caretakers were to just 5 year old Hinata was even worse

Needless to say, adoption came swift and fast along with proper enforcement doing a thorough investigation on the establishment

Anyways, fast forward to 6 years and there’s a letter coming down his Chimney saying he’s been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy

His parents doesn’t really know how to take it, especially when 10 more letters come flying in

Natsu, on the other hand, screams with joy and is practically packing all of his belongings

Their parents are definitely hesitant but they think about how there’s been way too many times that something odd has happened in the Hinata household

So with heavy hearts, they agree to let him go and try to get everything he’d need for this new school “What do we even get him?” “Is a wand just a stick? Like from a tree?”

Thank god for Takeda-sensei

He’s the Charms teacher at Hogwarts and absolutely adores muggle born wizards

He’s not bias ofc

ok maybe a little bit

but you can’t blame him! He’s a teacher and teaching muggle-borns about the wizarding world is the greatest gift he could ever give

So he takes the young boy under his wing, helping him get started in the wizard world

Hinata is amazed from every little thing in the new world, from the floor underneath his feet to the wizards flying up high

That being said, the time to depart from his family is really heart wrenching especially for Natsu

With the promise to send letters 3 times a month, Hinata heads for his new school!

Boarding the train, he meets 11 year old pureblood kegayama Tobio
