when you think about it, it’s crazy colin confesses. he has no idea penelope has loved him for years and as far as he knows, she truly wants to marry debling and THEN she says the idea of him having feelings for her is laughable, like the hits just keep on coming but he’s still like yeah yeah cool but what if I did? have feelings for you?? he does NOT waste anymore time, he said this is how my parents got together and what my mom said to do and if I am anything, it is a mama’s boy

Loving the new counterpoint that not only is posting activism, not posting is complicity. Why doesn't everyone with any fame or internet presence immediately release a lengthy but perfectly-worded statement telling us where they stand on every issue? Is it because they're evil??? It must be because they're evil

And then the usual answer is "they don't post online very much". Which is all very suspicious, don't they know everything of importance is done by posts on social media now

all the kudos in the world to the actors being able to pull this off but i just want to take a second to say that casting departments don't get nearly enough credit for what they do

these two are a prime example. they got about 5 minutes of screentime together in 4 episodes. yet regardless of if you know their story or not, you're actively rooting for them. and the show WANTS you to root for them. they cast the absolute perfect two people to make that happen, and because of that, their story will be more impactful to the viewers watching it play out

idk about anyone else but I find this being “Penelope’s Season” to be very depressing. she’s 100% alone for the summer, she’s without Eloise, Colin and her are initially on the outs, she’s getting embarrassed constantly, everyone makes fun of her still, she gets little to no wins, if any part 2 spoilers are true she has to continue getting insulted and flagellated to make up for her great sin of gossip writing, she continues to be unloved and unsupported by 98% of the people she interacts with, Colin ends up accepting her but she’s constantly being put on a court stand being insulted and lashed and she’s cried so many fucking times like this is NOT what I wanted in a season about her. like her book is so heavily about finding love along with your nerve and spine and self acceptance except if they waste the majority of act 2 on the Whistledown plot I really don’t know how they hope to make a point of good things coming to you and being rewarded for the vulnerability and boldness of being yourself. idk man, like I’m enjoying it but watching a season of Penelope just being the loneliest woman alive and having to constantly take insults to go cry alone is exhausting and not really giving “rom com”
